Unexpectedly good

A good show, I came across this randomly and it's like finding a hidden gem. I'm sure you read the description by now, It's a nice change of pace from all the other drama in the similar category, perhaps it's due to the fact this is adopted from a manga of same name, but not all adaptations are done this beautifully.

Really liked closing sequence and the chosen OST was good for that part.

Anyway, the all the cast members are doing excellent work, it's a nice slice of life drama in historical setting. Would definitely recommend to everyone.

Thanks to the subtitle team.

A really well done drama.

A well done drama indeed, the last time I felt this way was when I watched a korean drama called "Familiar wife" and it's Japanese remake.
These two cast members gave me the same kind of feeling, like they were made for each other, along with excellent OST and camera work. Support cast members were nice too, especially the FL's assistant. I just wish the drama was little bit longer because the last episode seem a bit too rushed for some reason.

Anyway, this drama was well worth it, you won't regret watching it.
And thanks to the subtitle team for their hard work.

Unexpectedly blew me away

Wow.. I'm like speechless with this thing here. Wasn't expecting much but it delivered.
So where do I begin, The main casts members are doing a phenomenal work, their acting suffered heavily in the beginning especially the FL but throughout the drama she improved and performed her best. Doing such a role must've been heavy for them and difficult to a certain degree, but they nailed it throughout the drama.

Also liked the story of side characters and how they learned to deal with their life problems.

The plot was nothing we're not familiar with already but how each scene is played is what makes this drama worth while.
Throughout the drama I keep thinking the possibility that they might not be real siblings and the mother may reveal some birth secret. But nothing of that sort happened.

The mother is the worst character, how can she say that "she gave birth to her daughter for her son only", a normal response would've been "because she wanted another child", the way she said it felt like she doesn't care for her at all. And I feel like mother is the main cause of all this. From the childhood she put in her mind that she's only there for her brother. This really affected her psychologically.

Other than this, I've got no clue what kind of message this drama is sharing. But one thing is certain there are many types of love including this one, even though that sort of relationship is considered strictly forbidden/taboo and for a good reason.

I don't know what else to write since this is my first review, all I can say is that if you're thinking of watching this then be prepared for the ride. It's slow and might feel boring at some point but it has wonderful support cast and excellent calm paced story telling, have to watch it with open mind though.

Not a masterpiece or anywhere close but somehow I managed to finish it in one go which is kind of surprising to me. Anyway liking or disliking depends on one's perspective and vision of things. I would recommend do give this a try before judging.

A big thanks to the subtitle team.

Two friends and their affair life

So basically this drama is about the two best friends from school time, there's Toru as ML and Koji as Second ML.

Throughout the school life whatever ML does, SML tries to replicate that, so when ML falls for Shifumi as FL even thought she was double his age, SML also thought of experimenting this (yes, this was the term he used) with the mother of his tution student hana, he gets involved with Kimiko around the same time without letting his girlfriend know.

An affair is bad no matter the reason, we don't really see the husband of Kimiko, but I find it hard to understand what was wrong with FL's marriage, her husband seem ok and he cared about her a lot. I find her attraction towards younger ML awful, it's good from story point of view but it's not logical. She had everything a woman could hope for unlike Kimiko.

Kimiko's husband was neglecting her which is why she gave herself to SML (Koji) but the same cannot be said for FL (Shifumi).

Aside from all this, I honestly didn't see much chemistry between main leads, so it was awkward to see them together, but Koji had good connection with Kimiko, throughout the drama I was watching for his relationship development.

Anyway what happened to these two main leads (Toru and Koji) is a lesson to be learned.
I won't say I like this drama as I have mixed feelings about it. Do give this a try.
