Liked the overall storyline. But did like the emperor and shi xueji characters. I understood why liu miantang didn’t chose the emperor, because he compromised his feelings for he desires, and didn’t let go of evil people who were around him so he could obtain the throne, and become emperor, even sun yun ‘er who he knew hurt the woman he supposedly loved( liu miantang). Such a hypocrite. Then without hesitation he gave sun yun’er a tile and may his other helper ‘s daughter the empress. ML always stating he would protect FL, always took care of her after the SML usually saved , and then he got her well or healed from injuries. He seem to have too many things to attend to, wasn’t usually around, knowing that many people wanted to harm the FL. SML spoke the truth let you get hurt again.
Then the girl she took in and treated like a sister betrayed her, trying to take advantage of the prince delirium to seduce him. A lot of disloyal people
Over all it was an okay story line , especially since it was a little different from your average period drama. I invested 28 episodes so I will see it to the end, although it’s start to get a little redundant, a little boring. Love the SML devotion to FL
