I've decided to write this review for you if you are interested to watch this drama or don't know what to expect. (Also I posted spoilers and other stuff down in comments) I would like to raise awareness and clear some misconceptions and made sure you know what you are going into if you decide to watch this for this drama is actually very hard to recommend or review for me. I have no idea what to do with this rollercoaster of emotions and stupidity but this is probably the first thing I've seen that fully deserves MELODRAMA tag.

To those seeking answers if it's worth watching, what is it about or what can you expect. How is it? Well, it's lighthearted moments are fantastic and drama moments too. Sadly the writing, motivations of villains and overall frustration is something that you have to overlook to move on. Writers and villains will do everything in their power to make the drama frustrating just for the sake of frustration. The main cast tries to do everything but the GOD of this drama just plays with you and will frustrate you from the beginning till the end. Even the "redemption arc" is not enough to redeem these villains. Their actions and their writing is unacceptable. There was potential because you can see that people are actually mentally ill and should do something about it but you get only few mentions and nobody takes it seriously.

If you are looking for something where the main cast gets through the trouble by the first half and then will have happy moments, look somewhere else. People will be together and people will fight. Tears will be shed and blood shall be spilled (oh wait... I don't remember this part about blood being in the drama). The progress is really fast and mature and with that sadly comes the decision to make it frustrating even sacrificing some sanity and common sense. The frustration lasts till the end and it's not even frustration over the characters but more like frustration over writing stuff that will make you scream "how is this happening AGAIN! WHY! But you know what, I still have to say if you can watch some quality acting and magnificent chemistry, go for it and skip the parts you want to skip. You can sit through the hours of frustration and angst and unreasonable WTH moments and take it all in or you can just take parts of it and enjoy it by your standards.

Story: Feels like watching torture and degradation of main cast waiting for happy moments of insanely good chemistry and funny interaction.

Acting: Absolutely amazing. You might love some characters. You might despise some characters with passion. You might hate the writers but these people can act. Despite very questionable reasons, decisions, twists and whatsoever, these actors can act.

- If you hate angst, stupid decisions and don't want to be frustrated or don't like arrogant (and often rude) but strong female lead - avoid it.
- If you want just some sweet romance and skinship with good chemistry - avoid it or watch it and skip the parts you want to skip - make it your own experience.
- If you want to watch people burn - Go for it
- If you want some mature experience and are able to get through the frustration or are ok with skipping some parts - Go for it
- If you are a fan of one of the two main actors - Go for it.

Despite all my criticism here or down in the comment section, I had a blast. Maybe it was the acting, maybe it was the mature feeling. Maybe it was all of it and more. As I am writing this, only a few people on this site actually watched it and I wish these "hidden gems" could get more recognition.

More info and spoilers in the comment section.

Hidden gem! Don't look at the ratings.

I never expected to watch something about beauty competition (and like it...) and here I am rating this as perfect drama. Maybe it just hit all the right spots, maybe I am completely wrong but I still wish to share my review and help people to decide if this hidden gem is worth watching for you.

This drama was fantastic. The relationships, the progress, characters (main and sides), and their growth, just amazing. I did not expect this after seeing the ratings but reviews kinda balanced it soI just gave it a GO, especially for the casting. I enjoyed Lee Sun Kyun in almost everything I watched him in. I found Lee Yun Hee in The Package and since then it's been on and off for me but when it's on, it always hits my niche. And seeing Lee Sung Min in the cast pretty much sealed the deal for me. I still didn't expect to like it so much but I did.

The story was fantastic and had the balls to end things at the right time and move to other things. I love the last 4-5 episodes and how it tackled everything. I loved the ending for it was a proper ending. The main characters were fantastic together but also on their own. All of them strong and great people. The same approach was taken for side characters and even some side-side characters. The bad guys were pretty dislikeable with disgusting behavior. The story is set during MFI (financial crisis) in 1997 and you can see it's the effect on pretty much anybody and everything. For me, this was a new theme and the way it was portrayed through character motivations and actions was great. Still, some of the actions by the bad guys were absurd but I can forgive it.

Anyway, I hate to say things are overrated or underrated since it depends on more factors, site culture, audience, etc. but I believe Miss Korea is terribly underrated and it's a shame. It has such a low rating even though most of what I read about it is positive. Why is it so? I have no idea. It might be because of all these: name of the drama, time period, beauty competition and who knows what. Maybe it's because of those few scenes of overgrown high schoolers (even though they really tried to make ML look younger, haha. It's still a shame because I found this drama by coincidence in the rabble of low ratings and I tried it only because of the cast. The period and topic didn't get my attention, the name didn't help and the rating was a final tombstone. I am happy about this coincidence for this is something that hit all the great spots.

TL;DR: HIDDEN GEM. Don't look at the rating! Look at the cast, check reviews, don't be discouraged by the setting or beauty competition, and give it a try. I think it's much better than most things on this site.

Don't look at the rating. Watch it as a comedy and please, don't take it seriously.

Whoa what an awesome comedy. I am completely mind blown. Once again finding that hidden gem that hits the spot. I don't think there are any spoilers in my review but just in case, the tag is there because of 2nd FL and husbando so if you want to go completely blind, don't continue.

It feels like a parody and I am not sure if it's supposed to be but that's how I decided to watch it so I could forgive almost anything by the end. It was amazing watching a mentally ill person and her descend into madness (or ascend?). FL (the mother) is very strong and the way she deals with problems was refreshing. Sadly by the end her character (and strong mind) kinda deteriorated but who wouldn't... Second FL (or was she main? well...) stole the show which was basically all about her and she did so well. As everybody said, by the end the husband couldn't go any lower. I mean he was at -150 level of hell with all those nasty demons. Also a special highlight for the daughter of a friend/professor. You wouldn't expect the kid to be the only reasonable person in the room right? But you would probably also expect to move the **** out of that house.

If you go for it, watch it as a comedy. It's ridiculous, it's funny when it's not supposed to be and it's absurd. I really hope it was meant to be because it takes all the melodramas, makjangs and other whatever jangs and goes over the top while kinda keeping itself in checks.

Also with people saying there is no romance, I have to disagree. Yes, it is not a fluffy rom-com, it's not even rom. There is almost no "skinship" but romance is not the point. Though, it has slow natural progress and feels very... normal and comfy. No kisses in the show and I mean... do you really need it? Well, I guess you do but, hey!

OST was amazing and helped to set the scenes. I mean you get a ridiculously dramatic evil melodrama scene and then the classical evil orchestra starts playing and you think it's the soundtrack but NO THEY ARE ACTUALLY PLAYING IT IN THE ROOM and the character starts dancing to it and it's just so freaking over the top.

TL;DR: Don't look at the rating. Try it but watch it as a comedy (that tag is there for a reason, I hope) otherwise you might dislike it. Great psycho acting. Handles some serious topics but you still can't take it seriously. Definitely Hidden gem.

Don't watch it for the plot. Be part of the tour group and enjoy their stories.

This drama made me a fan of Lee Yun Hee without any prior knowledge. She was just amazing. Don't expect much of a story or character growth. The story spans only a few days and people don't change that fast (if ever). The whole group is kinda character of itself and it is very enjoyable and comfy to watch them interact and react to things.

Also holy moly France was amazing. I wish there were more dramas like this but I get why there ain't. I also get why some people might be disappointed. If you go into it expecting more than being part of the tour, you might get disappointed. If you just want to enjoy some slice and life traveling with romance, go for it. The ending is kinda similar to most of the western movies handling this kind of story. So it's just so so.

Just let go. Buy a ticket. Sit on the bus. Become part of the tour and enjoy the travel. Even if you might not like some members, those are the strangers you will be stuck with for a few days while going around France. So you better get used to it if you don't wanna have your trip ruined by meaningless things. Maybe you will even learn something from them. I mean life is full of different and strange people who all have their quirks and story so you better watch and listen.
