Storyline is lacking
You watch this show and hope for some interesting storyline about marriage, but instead it is a show playing on stereotypical reasons why men cheat, with a dash of blaming the wives because they were lacking in meeting their husband's needs. The possible one positive was the variations of wives - one who gave her whole life to her family and is considered frumpy and uninteresting, the strong, self-centered diva who has a wall build up to protect herself, and the women who seems to have it all but is trying so hard to be perfect so that her husband doesn't stray. I keep fast forwarding to learn more about the wives and their character development because these roles are more interesting than watching how the husbands started the affairs. The lack of communication between the spouses makes the show uninteresting too.
I would have preferred to see how the women move forward from the betrayal and not spending the whole season watching the development of the affairs that lack any real connection - pretty young women feeding on a man's need for validation. It would have been more interesting if at least one of the affairs didn't fit the typical mistress mold. The mistresses seem to have no internal conflict about being a mistress ...you would think at least one would ...and would help the viewer to feel torn for their characters. It really does become boring. The best scene was when the daughter tells her father off. As I said before, I started to fast forward through most of show to focus on the wives and how they related to each other, but that has been minimal too. Overall, the script was lacking. The saving grace is the actors' performances.
