Three Lives Three Worlds, Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (2017) aka Eternal Love, Chinese tv drama is a romance fantasy that delivers. It’s the only show to date that has me watching over and over. The fox character comes to life and the story arch is tightly woven around the the three personalities of this one character. Mi Yang plays each role without betraying her true character as a fox. Mark Chao’s character comes to life more in grief which is a step away from the norm, but reflects his own story before he was born. To play a double role without loosing the poise and integrity of the character takes some skill from the writers to the producers. The tree character Mi Gu played by Youhao Zhang I found to be intriguing as he varied from simplistic and silly to wise and strong but all the while loyal. The only thing that jars at me is the intrusive American language that pops up in the subtitles. But the scripting itself was excellent and themes explored with excellence. There was only one shot that I disagreed with but that in itself is commendable for the director. I tend to be picky with that. Bai Fenjui’s romance tended to be a bit much and bordered on paedophilic except if there were a part two when she became older and more matured. It seemed to compete with our lead romantic story unnecessarily. I found that the emotional bond between mother and child needed at least one more scene. The last scene left me wanting more so it achieved its goal of being unforgettable and timeless. #Chineseromancefantasy #MarkChao #Chinesetvdrama #EternalLove #TenMilesofPeachBlossoms #cannotgetenough
