This was one of the few korean movies of the 90's that I watched but I must confess I really liked it.

The plot was very credible such as the characters. The love story between the two forbidden lovers is amazing and very realistic which only made me like the movie more.
It may be a little slow in the beggining but as we go into the movie it gets better and more interesting, leaving you wanting to know the ending of the couple. The sensual scenes are very romantic and sexy at the same time (at least I thought so).

I noticed the characters growing in me as the movie advances, and I came to love the main couple (even if they don't always make the right choice - in my opinion). Even though the ending is not perfect I was very satisfied with it.

OMG I don't even have words to describe this movie. I never cried so much in my life for a movie.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE should see this movie.

The plot is just amazing and one of the most original ones I've seen. The actors (I didn't know any) convey you the story perfectly which has a very deep meaning.

The message it delivers it's just unspeakable you have to see it to understand.
Above all this movie show us todays society and how independent we got, so much we stopped caring for anyone else but ourselves. The 'Superman' in this story show us that it is still alright to care for others, to help them, to be good and that it's actually a very good thing.

He show us that even though there are many bad people in the world there are also good people and that to make a difference in someone's (or everyone's) life it depends only on yourself.
Everyone has power, you just have to use it.

Go by me and see this. It's definitly worth the time...

I know this is one of the most popular korean movies out there and I watched because a friend of mine recommend it to me. But I must say it's not by far the best I've seen. It's actually a little Hollywood'ish in my opinion.

It's a cute and fun love story about a girl who is very fat but has a beautiful voice. The first thing I didn't like about it was that she was not ugly, she was just fat (which a diet could 'cure') but no; to make the 'renovation' to her new self she (like most of koreans) decided to make a thousand plastics, changing completely who she was (to the point of taking a new identity).

After altering her physical looks she had to change her mentality and way of thinking that she was no longer the ugly (only in her head) and fat girl but the hot woman.
I must say I actually I like her way more before the transformation because (in my point of view) she became like everyone else (even the girls she hated before the transformation) and was not her unique self anymore.

For this movie I suggest you watch it and make your own opinion.

Ok, so Kim Ki Duk (KKD), my favourite director. This was not the first I've seen of him but I must say it's a masterpiece (there is no other way to describe it).

If you are not a KKD fan and haven't seen any of his movies I suggest you begin with this one because it's the easiest to understand and it's a delightful love story.

The main characters don't talk during all movie but their feelings are definitly conveyed to the viewer (that's the power of all KKD movies in my opinion and the reason why they are so famous worldwide).
As in most of his movies the main character is a woman with a problematic life that finds salvation through love. It's a very moving and beautiful story that will leave you wanting more of KKD.

The movie has violence and sex (as all of KKD's other works) although here in a very small scale (compared to others of KKD's works). It's definitly a must watch.

If you liked this and want more of KKD's works I suggest to move on to 'Time' or 'Beautiful' and then keep going to other of his most heavy works.

I know many of you didn't like 'Anego' but I must confess I loved it. I see many of you complain about the fact that Anego is always worried about marriage and so. But that is the life of a japanese woman, they are educated thinking a life of a woman only begins when she is married so it's only normal (and this still happens nowadays. I live in Europe and my japanese teacher - who is married to a European man - still thinks the duty of a wife is to follow her husband everywhere and obey him, so...).
Also Anego is in her 30's which is already too old to marry in Japan (I don't know of any japanese woman in her 30's who is not married).

I think Anego represents the average japanese OL, but I also think that the only thing she has in common with the average japanese woman is the fact she wants to marry. All woman in Japan want to marry a rich man (and when they don't they are the lover of one - something that is also portrayed in 'Anego') and look to no means to do it.
As for Anego is nothing like that. She doesn't want to be manipulative, or false; she ALWAYS just want to marry a man that she can like (even if just a little bit) and that he can also like her a bit.

Midway through the drama she also believes she found her fated man (who is already married to one of her friends) but she doesn't want an affair; which she will have (with that same man) but will end up regreting it (like she always knew she would).

As for Kurosawa-kun I think he represent the average man (and not only japanese man). He is the guy who likes Anego a bit but doesn't want to marry just yet (he even tells Anego not to marry anyone so he can have her, but he will also not marry her - if that is not the average man I don't know what it is).

It's true though that Akanishi and Shinohara don't have great chemistry, but to be honest I never seen Akanishi with good chemistry with anyone.

Overall I loved this drama. Anego portrais the concerns of a woman in her age in a very realistic and funny way. I think all of us have a little bit of Anego inside.

I must be true and reveal that I started this drama for Jung Il Woo and his fantastic character. It was the first I saw with him and I must say I totally fell in love with his character and ultimately with him.

I don't know if you guys know this but the name of this drama is 49 days because for koreans it is a very important day after someone's death (for instance in my country is only 7 days). Which makes sense since after those 49 days it will be decided if Ji Hyun will live or not.

I don't give it a higher rate because I must admit I was expecting something else (like Ji Hyun ending up with Scheduler- the most amusing character I've ever seen) but after a while I accepted it and saw it through the end.
Even though I got really disappointed at the end because it lacked romance (in my opinion) and I think the writers sought a bigger drama than it was necessary ruining the ending for me.

I don't give it a high rewatch value (and I don't think I will ever re view it) but I don't regret seeing it cause it took me to others works of Jung Il Woo who I adore as an actor.

Ok. I watched this for Mizushima Hiro (and because my sister recommend it to me).
Apart from Mizushima Hiro I didn't recognised any other actor from previous japanese dramas or movies I've seen. The love stories were kind of cute but not connected.
If you are a fan of Mizushima I recommend you to watch otherwise it might be a little boring.

Ok, my first work of Yoo Seung Ho, and since then I think of him as a great actor. He will certainly be a fabulous actor of his generation and one of the most famous and awarded.

I loved this movie, it's a teen kind of thriller...
The romance was great and the thriller even better. I couldn't figure who the murderer was until the very end (even though I knew the librarian was in it too; it's always the librarian for my great sorrow since I am one myself). Moving on... This movie has a great argument and was very well shooted. And I couldn't think of a better cast.
Also represents accurately the korean highschool and it's prejudices.

A definitly watch.

Just so you know this was my first korean drama of all time. Since then (6 and half years ago) I didn't stop watching them, so you can guess how good this is.

When I watched I didn't know who any of the actors were (not even Rain), but I must say I fell in love with all of them almost instantly. Shin Min Ah is actually my favourite korean actress so...

This drama is so intense. The story and the drama in it are very korean, a tragic story that envolves love and family. Even though I never cried seeing this drama it has a very emotional side. Lifes of people that connect to each other in very tragic ways.

I loved the romance in this drama (Rain and Shin Min Ah have great chemistry), and it's a real love story like no other. The power of forgiveness, of letting go of the past and above all love.

Kim Young Jae was really amazing here too. Even today he has made one of the best performances I've seen (I find it a pity he didn't was so good in others works I've seen with him).

You definitly must watch this. Even though it may be a little sad, it will leave you with a great feeling (at least it did to me).

This was the first of Lee Byung Hun that I watched but I must confess the plot didn't really appeal to me (maybe because I saw 'Secret Love' first which has a very similar plot, which I didn't like by the way).

As I went into the movie I already knew where it was going and the ending was a bit predictable. (Which may not be if you are only begining you asian movie or drama adventure).

I also was a little disappointed at Lee Byung Hun since everyone seemed to think of him as a great actor and I didn't see any outstanding performance in this; but (bless me God for that decision) I decided to watch other works of him and was really impressed.

So even if you didn't like this I suggest you to move to others of his movies...(I REALLY recommend J.S.A. - Joint Security Area).

I watched this a very long time ago and it was one of the first korean movies I've ever seen. The plot I remember was amazing and the love story even more. I was very touched by the main couple.

As we go into the movie we begin to percieve the tragic outcome awaiting us ahead.

The ending was a bit of a disappointment to me because it didn't really reveal anything of the future for the couple, but even so it is a good watch.

First korean movie I watched and it all started because of the OST. I knew Jaejoong (my favourite DBSK member, and the first korean celebrity I got to know) sang 'Insa' and I saw it was the OST for this movie so I went and watched it.

Even though the cast is very good (for God's sake it's Hyun Bin and how much better can it get?) I didn't liked the plot very much and thought of it as a bit cliché.
As I watched the movie I felt it could be a drama and not a movie since I always had the feeling they were rushing the story to get to the end (all this hurry killed the movie for me).

Jaejoong's and DBSK's singing was the best though.

I know my opinion might not be very popular since everyone seems to love this movie, and the love story in it but it was what I felt back then (it's been 6 years since I watched it).

I remember I watched it because of the high score it had in my usual movie site.
I must say I didn't regret watching it. It was amusing, fun and cute. The usual love story where the characters start by hating each other (nothing new if you already are an asian movie/drama addict).
It's perfect if you are in a good mood and want to watch something amusing and light.

It's been years since I watched this but I remember I was a little taken by the fashion in the movie and the poor quality of hair and scenery (something you will strange if you already seen some recent movie or korean dramas).

I don't give it high rewatchable value but still a good watch.
