Honestly, most of the drama from Taiwan that I've watched were a bit boring, except from the comedies. So, I was not really looking forward watching this, or even picking it up. Plus, there was a lot of buzz around it, which mostly means that the drama is just popular and not that good. So, for those second thinking watching this because of its popularity, my advise is to give it a try.
The drama combined my favourite genres, melodrama (and boy did it have lots and lots of dark themes, tragedy, drama, pain and angst), school romance (first love, youth, innocence, freshness, sweetness) and mystery (with lots and lots and lots of twists that didn't really tire the viewer). The plot was beautifully presented, with things getting confusing at times, but if you stick to it, they do explain things and, in the end, the conclusion is satisfying and original. So, the story was great, with many leyers and a solid mystery and an intense romance.
The characters were realistic, as well, and they didn't overeacter, which I appreciated a lot. For example, the girl didn't start obsessing and dramatising things, clinging on the boy, even though she had been looking for her boyfriend who looked exactly like him for years, missing him like crazy. On that note, the leading lady was perfect, and she did an amazing job with the two characters. Her 2019 one was actually very likable and entertaining. The comedy moments were much appreciated too. The rest of the cast did an amazing job as well. Finally, the pace was perfect and the
So, overall, nine out of ten.

The drama keeps a slow tempo, with the story being spread throughout the drama, probably so it can serve the next two seasons coming up next. Maybe that's when the drama picks up. And yes, this is a slice of life, but, at times, it felt like there was nothing to look forward to in the next episode. Also, there were moments when the drama got boring too.
That said, they did handle the romance masterfully, as to not overshadow the friendship and so that it didn't become the main focus of the drama. They did a good job with the blend of music and story too, as well as with the flashbacks of their old days.
Finally, when it comes to performances, the drama of course had excellent ones, as the cast was consisted by the best of the best.
So, overall, six and a half out of ten, because there were some nice moments to the drama, but it felt like there was no story to it.

Not Good Enough
Japanese Drama "Momoiro Anzuiro Sakuro" is a ridiculous drama that has the potential to be romantic and, indeed, it does have some romantic moments, but the rest of it felt forced and forceful. The drama had two things that brings it down, the aggressive male lead and the childish female lead who let everyone use her as a pushover. It almost felt like the romance wasn't even her choice, rather, she just couldn't say no to the guy. Actually, she ask him to stop in many office scenes, but he just ignored her and tried to make it look like a game towards her. As for the romance with the second lead, it lucked chemistry right from the start. At least the performances were good. But the rest was just ridiculous.
So, overall, 1.5 out of 10.

The love stories were cute, but not as good as they were in the first season. The love triangle was weak too. So, there were few twists when it came to the romance part. Plus, the main Hana of the first season was pushed aside and her love story was just a mess.
At least the conclusion was bitter sweet and it feated a drama about teens and their lives.
So, five out of ten.

Wow, this movie was a roller coaster! The first part was really cute and funny. The second part nervewracking for sure. May I add here a huge SPOIL ALERT and say to anyone who might be wondering, that this movie does not have insest in it. It just a major twist in the movie, but they just played with it for a while, having you wonder why the hell this one wasn't under the drama-tragic ending category. On the other hand, the first part was really adorable, manga like movie. The love story was cute and the family matter, confusing, but funny. The movie is well made as well and the performances very good.

Good Enough
" Growing Season " is a drama between the more mature ones that Playlist Global started producing in 2020 and the more cute, romantic ones, like Love Playlist. It had a more realistic approach to how young women see love and romantic relationships, but it also had some adorable pairings and some entertaining love stories. However, I must admit that those love stories were predictable. They were adorable, don't get me wrong, but they were a bit 'cheesy' because the main mood of the drama was too realistic for that approach. Fortunately, the main highlight of the drama was the friendship between the three girls, their girl talk and their struggles, so that let down can be overlooked. The girls had real-life problems and real-life concerns and the drama did not shy off from subjects like intimacy and STD.
Finally, the pace was just right for the story and the performances were very good from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, 8 out of 10.

The main problem with the drama was the pace. The skipping forward years in the future prevented the characters from having any character development and it just didn't help the romance at all. Especially the 14th episode was just bad, as it felt like they were trying to present the current situation of the characters in a fast and furious way, editing scene after scene and just blurting out that the main character now loves this girl, out of the blue, but that's that. No explanation was provided for their actions, no background and those four years in the future seemed like they four empty years (I mean even the flashbacks that the male lead was experiencing were from four years ago or of the same day, like nothing happened in those four years). Another factor that didn't really help with the love story was that the couple didn't have chemistry. They didn't have any solid heart-racing moment either. So, them getting together was just too random and forceful.
Finally, the characters remained the same as they were presented at the beginning of the drama. We knew the bad guys were bad and that didn't really change, although, the son did have some potential to demonstrate why he was the monster he turned out to be, a potential that was never really properly explored. The big boss and enemy of the male lead felt also more like a promise of a bad character after all. He sure was mean to the main character and seriously unlikable, but, in the end, his actions were left in the behind the scenes grey area. The main character, in addition, showed zero development. He even got a bit boring after a while and felt a bit too bland in others.
Now, for the good part of the drama. The beginning was just perfect. If you like melodrama, like I do, where the main character hits bottom and gets unfairly treated in order to stand up to his own two feet again and take matters into his own hands, then you are going to love the first half of the drama. The revenge plot was very satisfying as well, with a solid ending that was nicely presented. Though, it would have been nice if they showed how they actually managed to succeed, as the first part of the drama had focused on the struggles of them setting off. Another part of the drama that was pretty good was the characters. The members of the crew were unique and the drama didn't shy off from issues like racism and gender identity. So, it was refreshing to see those elements added in the plot. The female leads were delightful too. They were strong women, the one beautiful but a tragic character, and the other young, fearless, reckless and somehow, likable. Sure, she did some questionable things, but she was young and just too full of herself, so it was nice to see how the others helped her realize that her attitude wasn't always right and to grow up. I've also seen some other viewers not really liking her looks. Sure, she isn't the classic beauty, but, for her character, who was cool and interesting, I think she was just perfect. Finally, the OST was solid.
So, overall, six out of ten.

Not Good Enough
Korean Drama " Love in Contract " has a good story in theory, but the execution was weak. The dynamics between a strong, independant and girly woman and a moody, closed up man were spot on, for starters. However, the love story lacked pace, had few romantic moments that were added awkwardly into the story and, overall, it lost its enjoyament since it felt parcial.
The love triangle, moreover, was boring and the two leads had zero chemistry, which did not aid at all.
Also, the main character was annoying and acting immature most of the time, though the actress did a good job with her performance.
Finally, the drama got boring after the first episodes and messy when it came to its plot.
So, overall, two out of ten.

The first part was great, with a well constructed mystery, top notch cinematography, especially the scenes with the snow, the subtle and slow burn romance and the news broadcasting setting. The performances were pretty great from every actor and actress of the cast. The main couple, in addition, had chemistry, which helped with the odd romance.
However, the drama got out of hand towards the ending. There were a lot of cliche trops that were added into the plot and the mystery got tiring.
So, overall, six out of ten.

The drama was action packed, focusing on two main characters who were trying to solve the mystery of the serial killer who was trying to kill them all. There were enough twists to keep things interesting, and tiring at times, as, at some point, the twist over twist was a bit too much. The mystery, however, was not easy to predict, or to guess who was the culprit, as, in each episode, another character seemed suspicious. The drama didn't add romance to the mix, at least not too obvious, which was really a relief. However, the main plot with the going back in time and the whole organization was not properly explained. The ending, in addition, was simply perfect. Finally, the performances were great from all the actors and actresses of the cast.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

The first part had an interesting story. Although the first episodes were a bit of a let down and probably could have pushed people away, the idea of the selection was entertaining and full of intrigues between the women (hence the girls war alternative title). The mean characters were plenty, and some of them were even playing friendly when they were in reality the worse. Some others had tragic endings, so the tragedy genre was plenty in this one. So, the girl's adventures and how she managed to survive the twists and traps that the other contestants set for her were entertaining and spiced up the story.
The chemistry of the couple was amazing, too, and they had a nice romance. Their romantic scenes were pretty intense and they had plenty of kissing scenes, which is often rare in historical dramas. Though, the love triangle they wanted to present was not as good and it was underdeveloped.
However, the second part was predictable. It was pretty much what happens to all historical dramas, the bad old aristocrats want power, the girl wants to protect the king, the king wants to protect her, and so on. The ending was okay, but boring.
Finally, the main character was good, but she got annoying from time to time, especially in the end, even though she started as a strong, sassy character. The male lead was pretty swoon worthy and he was a nice romantic lead.
So, overall, seven out of ten.
