If you want to watch this kdrama open-minded, don't read!
I have so much to say about this!!!
I started watching this besides the fact it was on Netflix because the plot seemed intriquing and different. Like vampire as a surgeon?? (What could possibly go wrong?) Firstly I was sincerely surprised how they involved so many discussions about medicine and its dilemmas. I wonder if its legit because it had very complicated vocabulary about medicine, average viewer wouldn't understand if its all crap. Although first episodes where great, it got worse every episode. Ending was very much rushed and left you with many questions. I felt like they wanted to leave option for second season open.
Now the main reason I even write this review is because of the chemistry between two main leads. ( I have never seen them play in kdramas so I went to watch with no expectations.) I was just so shook because there was none. The girl tried so hard for their relationship to work, was always the one watching him sleep and I saw she had feelings but the guy wasn't interested at all, like even when he knew the girl was in danger he had to go and get his revenge AND most of the times failed miserably, only succeeded when his friends gave him something to anger the director. I felt like from Park Ji Sang's side it was more about revenge and the girl he imagined to be his "true love" was meant to fail the second he saw her again for the first time. Sometimes he looked at her as if she was his enemy too which was so weird and funny to watch. In fact everytime it was physically painful to watch as they spent all those nights together and said how much they cared about each other but then just weakly hugged, even his best friend had better romance in my opinion. Main leads always kept their distance and called each other formally as doctor... you don't call the person you love by their profession. So why all this is hard for me to understand is because they started dating and even tied the knot in real life, why didn't I see any chemistry in the drama??
The reason I gave it 6/10 was because I thought the plot idea they had was great and some of the acting by the infected was very creepy!! Also demon/vampire director saved the day, such an evil character, he really had no limits.
To end this long review, it really depends individually, whether you love it or hate it. One thing for sure, if you are looking for romantic kdrama, stay away from this.
