Too many plot holes and messy part 1 ending

Usually in apocalypse shows we start off with a big group and 2 people die every episode until only the main cast is left. That was a big cliche this show avoided, one of the characters whom I thought would be main was just killed off in the first episode itself. After that a bit unrealistically but everyone seemed to be managing ok, right until the ending that is, where they just killed off the main character. The worst thing about that was that he died doing nothing, he just gave up. He could have just jumped off the building, he probably would've broken bones, but mostly survived. It just seemed like they wanted a cool shot for the part 1 ending and decided to kill him off with everyone screaming and crying for dramatic effects.
Also, they were not even sure that the spheres were attacking a shelter, like they had never seen the shelter or knew how many people were present there but suddenly after hearing a kid's speech they decided it worth risking their lives for.
1. While the students left the school they took 2 trucks, which caused the whole 1 group got abandoned and the other group came to rescue them thingy. But while going back to the shelter after the rescue, they seemed to be managing just fine within a single truck(unless it was a bigger truck, but it didn't seem like it). So why would they divide into 2 trucks to begin with.
2. The teacher lived outside the school even though the whole area was evacuated and was swarming with the spheres.
3. But the biggest plot hole according to me was that all their parents are apparently just chilling in the shelters while the high school kids are dying to protect them. Shouldn't it be the opposite, shouldn't adult civilians be drafted for the military and students protected in the shelters....

A focus on girl politics and bystanders of bullying

I absolutely love the female lead, her character is so realistic and refreshing from the usual heroine tropes.
Actually all the other characters were neatly fleshed out and were not just one dimensional.
The cast absolutely delivers on the acting.
Especially the FL and the main antagonist, I can't believe I haven't seen much of them before.

This absolutely delivers into the craziness of girl politics. Like with a guys bullying story, the victim just goes through a training arc gets strong and beats up the bullies and takes revenge. But with so much passive aggressiveness rooted in the girl world, it ain't that simple for the victim.
The story puts a light on the usual circumstances of a bully victim by exaggerating it into a game, where no matter how fair the rules seem to be, you just can't get out.

Mainly I would like to appreciate the writing, yes I know it's based on a webtoon and ya this appreciation goes to them.
Nowadays so many copy paste cliched tropes are going around that I went into this with low expectations too but slowly it established itself as a complete standout.
Definitely recommend it for anyone wanting to watch some thrilling high school bully take down story.

Full blown rom-com

this caught my attentiom obviously because of bright in Indian attire and gotta say it was sooo fun. I went in expecting a super cringe rom-com but it actually had it's moments.

Some people were disappointed with the minimal screen time for bright, but I felt that was accurate for the story and the setting. The female lead really carried the movie well.

As an Indian, I loved the accurate cultural representation and the on-spot casting. I hope we get to see more of these inter-cultural stories in the future.

overall, don't watch this if you want some mind-blowing story with some out-of-the-box drama. watch it if you just wanna have a good time.

A cute rom-com

I went into this with zero expectations, ready to drop it after 1 or 2 episodes but the calm and mature storyline held my attention.

If you're looking for a passionate romantic tale with a lot of thrilling twists, this isn't for you.

It's a sweet and grounded neighborhood story carried by the cute interactions between the main leads. The relationship between the main leads gets built entirely on their mutual trust and trust gets deepened as they encounter various circumstances.

Usually I'm not a fan of dramas that suddenly change genres in the middle. But the change here was anything but sudden, it was a natural part of the storyline. To elaborate, the first half of the drama mainly revolves around the rom-com side while the second half has a interesting whodunit chase that ends with a shocking twist.

If this is one of your first kdramas you might be left a little disappointed by the kind of smooth storyline with not a lot of standout moments. But if you're an old kdrama fan like me then you'll definitely appreciate the freshness of the story. It's not a "2 people destined for each other" but has a more realistic relationship between the leads which develops naturally as they get to know each other.
