Beautiful Heartache

AMAZING!!!!!! Incredible plotline and actors!! Each character had his/her own role in the story that was critical. It was such a pleasure to see all the characters grow and develop to their best self. It is rare to see the lead characters so dynamic. Typically, it's one character healing another. My favorite aspect is that they all healed and loved each other. It's so amazing how another broken person is able to be fixed by someone else who is also weak and damaged. I also really really love the depth this drama went into mental health. This is a touchy topic especially in Asian country. For a Korean drama to really explore the consequences of mental issues, it is really touching and beautiful. I can guarantee smiles as well as teary eyes. This drama does not disappoint. HIGHLY recommend.

BUTTKICKING FEMALE LEAD

AMAZING!!! The main female lead is a total badass and fracking awesome. She is scheming and so smart. She is one of the type of political figures that started from the bottom (literally the bottom of society) and climbs her way up while knocking her competitors flying. She is fierce when someone tries to harm who she loves and she never forgets nor forgive. Ultimately, she gives the audience a guaranteed protagonist character that everyone will love and root for. She is cunning and clever and remains so until the end (doesn't magically become "dumb" like a lot of dramas that need the male lead to come and rescue). Of course we all miss the characters that didn't make it. All the actors were incredibly talented, especially the villains. The convincingly pull watchers into the story and truly invoke really emotional responses. HIGHLY recommend (if you can pull through bc it is quite long).

AMAZING STORY

Hands down one of the most heartwarming stories about humans. HIGHLY recommended. This is the perfect medicine when you need to see a little bit of light and hope in the world. The characters are so wonderful and lovable. The most important part was that they were real. They made mistakes and they hurted too. This drama touches on the problem of mental health issues and the impact of parental neglect. It really shines a light on how kids are affected by their parents and how it could lead to a lot of mental damage and self doubt. Not only does it talk about parents abandonment, it also includes parents who care in the wrong way and push their way too much. Although it does have romance, it's very minimal. The focus is on familial love and it is showcased incredibly well in this drama. 100% would rewatch

An Amazing Short Drama

This story is very hilarious and highly recommended for drama lover who want a short, quick series. The actors themselves had great chemistry that was very natural and comfortable. It felt like they actually liked each other and there was not a hindering amount of scenes in which the director forcibly pushed the lead together for the audience to go "oh yeah they're the main couple." The supporting cast was amazing in their roles as well. I also really loved how Zhao Lusi sang a song for the drama and voiced her own character (it's kinda weird why they didn't let the male lead do the same for some reason). There was one issue with the color with the shots as one the brightness and vivacity of the setting would be different throughout the drama (and sometimes even within the same episode). I have heard it described as if two editing teams had worked on it but didn't communicate with each other, so it resulted in drastic coloration at different scenes. Other than that, everything else was amazing. The interesting plot brought a new sense of fresh uniqueness and the acting was commendable as well. It certainly is one of my favorite dramas.
