An under rated drama with interesting storyline

This has some romance but it is very discreet and more to do with a girl named Chun Tumi’s journey to become a litigator in ancient times. The production is actually quite good as it looks to be low to mid budget.
There are humorous moments but what kept me interested is the logical way Tumi argued her way out of difficult ancient court proceedings and upheld the law for the common folks .
The storyline is devoid of troopey characters ( a big plus) and the storyline is interesting.
Originally I started watching because I really like Fan Zhi Xin in “The lethal man”! Want to check him out in a period drama.
He was simply outstanding in that short drama. His two co stars here Jun Jie and Sabrina Zhuang made the story came alive.

The attraction is the storyline and also decent directing. Even though there are no kiss scenes ; somehow the romance came through and seemed ok for this drama. I would like a Season 2 to wrap up and progress the romance between main CP.

The bromance between Lord Han and Lord Kang is quite heart warming. It has been awhile since I enjoyed a low keyed romance drama! Enjoy and I would recommend this for anyone looking for something different from your normal rom-com.

An under rated GEM

This show hooked you from get start with a very provocative scene that turned out NOT to be what it seems!
The chemistry between the two leads are phenomenal.

It is more the directing and storytelling and as well as the angle and how the drama is shot that is very engaging and entertaining. There are humorous moments, lots of cranked up tensions some are sexual in nature.
It is those that are left unsaid rather than the explicit that are most engaging.

You can tell the budget is low but is very well directed and produced. As the time investment is not a lot, you will find the time spent very gratifying. I enjoyed this thoroughly and believe I will rewatch if I need a filler drama in future.

If you enjoy “A familiar stranger” and also “the killer is romantic” then you will enjoy this . It is same writer and director team.
Whilst story line can be guessed, it is still entertaining as there are satisfying end to the bad guys and there are no super bitchy 2FL. I loved the OSTs and enjoyed the love scenes between the 2 leads.

Tragic love story

I really wished for a better ending. would have given 8 if it is a happier ending.
Firstly, the ML, played by LZH looks super dreamy and looks even better in the drama than real life I am sure.
The pacing of the story is short and as it is a super short drama which is 3-4 mins per episodes so it is pretty amazing that the storylines were developed nicely.
There is an EP3 with a steamy bathroom scene that was very well shot and super suggestive. Nothing crass.
The storyline is how FL, who had a crush in High School missed each other because her elder twin sister that looks identical to her committed suicide but because her mother cannot take it had to take the identity of the dead sister as her mother listed her as having committed suicide.
They moved away after the incident, years later when she became a successful materialistic lawyer with her sister identity she met back ML who was confused and correctly identified her started a torrid affair after a one night stand.
Because of her mother’s mental issues and the complications surrounding her identity, she did not let ML know that she has assumed her sister’s identity not by choice. That led to complications and mis understandings. After a break up with ML, she was walking alone when she was viciously hit by a henchman because she offended the leader in one of her criminal cases.
Sadly, the ML realised too late and she looks like she did not make it out of the operating table.
My wish : there is a Season 2 and she was somehow revived even though she did flatlined. However, she had amnesia and forgot about everything… ML and her had to start over… well it is pretty reverting for a short tragic drama. Go ahead if you can take an ending that is sad at this juncture.

Under rated gem amongst the mini web drama

Firstly, the synopsis is a little off.
The story is indeed about a young girl, Jing Jia taking her twin sister, Jing Shu’s place when the sister went missing right before the wedding.

Prior to that in a separate chance encounter, she met her sister’s husband to be and attracted his attention.
They got married and the groom’s family has a complicated typical Chinese family background that resulted in them
agreeing to stay together as married couple for their different reasons.

At ep 19; the ML finally realized that the FL is not his intended bride but the twin sister and he was pissed as expected.
However, the conversation was also witnessed by another party in ML family that is jostling for power and has ill intent towards the ML.

I strongly recommend because aside from comedic moments, the chemistry is good between the two leads. The actors are good for both leads. I consider this same as “A familiar stranger” genre… short and entertaining and very good to pass time whilst waiting for regular drama to air.

11May: I have finished the show, the ending a little underwhelming and somewhat disappointing. Don’t misunderstand me : it is a happy ending just not as good as others of same genre…

A good mini drama filler

This is a short drama 10 minutes per episode.
I believe Shen Hao Nan and Wen Mo Yan has chemistry that are on fire for some of the scenes! I am familiar with SHN short dramas and believe this is definitely his best to date. In part the plot allows him to showcase his skills…

Basically, the FL works as a “consultant” of sort to catch cheating husbands by presenting evidence of cheating to facilitate divorce and claims for the wife. She was recruited to set such a bait for ML but got the table turned on her when the “wife” aka 2FL was actually duplicitous and was not actually honest about a lot of things which she omitted to tell FL. The story is tight but there are always loop holes in logic when it comes to short or mini drama.

But the acting skills of both ML and FL is very good and the supporting casts also complements them. As such this is a very watchable short drama.

Hilarious and entertaining at the onset

I find the storyline intriguing with the FL pretending to be weak and meek damsel; this is due to political overtones of being the only daughter of a very successful and much envied and feared general.
I personally like Jeremy Tsui especially in the period part of Be my princess as the Grand Tutor. However what blew me away is the chemistry and interactions as well as antics of Princess Hua Luili. She is a strong FL and with a mind of her own which I much preferred to some of the C drama FL.
She is the quintessential “tiger” pretending to be a tabby cat. She is well versed in martial arts but pretends to be an unknowledgeable novice… though this leads to much hilarity after she slaughtered all her kidnappers and try to pass all credits to the ingenious Princess Jiamin is just very funny and unbelievable at the same time.
For those who enjoy a good rom com with good acting thrown in and decent production for what is likely a low budget drama ; go ahead , enjoy and indulge. You won’t regret though no major kiss scenes but the chemistry makes up for that.

A satisfying good old romance

Firstly, I watched because I like Xu Kai in certain drama and first time watching Sven.
The drama has a lot of good things going. Satisfying female camaraderie and I do like the 2nd FL development with both her romances. Quite realistic portrayal of life actually…. The 2nd FL’s romantic entanglements.
There are some hot scenes and the CP is surprisingly good together. I must admit until this drama , I still think Xu Kai has best chemistry with Cheng Xiao’s Falling into You. He is equally adept with this FL… who is more cute and adorable than beautiful in the traditional way. Anyway, what I love the most is how they choose to end this drama with a special 40.5 episode that shows snippets of their entire life together until the FL near end of life after living a very enriching life together.

Go watch … you won’t be disappointed if you like a good old romance.

A splendid revenge dram

This is the standout revenge drama I have watched thus far…. The plot whilst having gaps here and there is good enough to be acceptable and definitely the entertainment level is very high.

Firstly, the ML does smouldering at the beginning especially well. The FL even though there are 10 years difference has great chemistry with the ML. I liked ML since Scent of Time but I feel he is made for Duke Su’s role. Wang Xing Yue is on fire with this role .

Whilst the beginning of the story is extremely brutal, how 2ML framed the FL with family’s help and tried to bludgeon the FL to death …even though he seemed to be coerced by the Princess. I hope the director do NOT white washed what he did in the end of the story… He did have a choice even though he seemed to think he had no choice ; The script writers rose to the occasion and kept pace with the storyline. I find the story gripping and even though I can guess what is coming sometimes I still look forward to the new episodes which are trickling in. I did not find Fox Sprit Matchmaker that interesting ;valid comparisons because these two dramas are screened at similar timing ; instead I was totally mesmerised by this little gem of drama although revenge is NOT normally my cup of tea.

OST is also vey good. I like Chen Lei rendition of “Live and love” and have save this up in my YouTube folder. It is especially soulful and match the drama. In fact the other songs are great as well… go look for it in YouTube.

I am happy to report that this drama is a rare drama this year where I absolutely enjoyed every episode including a satisfying ending. The CP’s married live and a glimpse into their family live….which was not shown for Love Like the Galaxy ( sigh … wished the Director will release special episodes…)

Wang Xing Yue is perfect casting for the Duke Su role and I bet will capture your imagination and this is a rare drama that is good for re watch. My first time watching WJY the FL and she did the role justice and her chemistry with WXY is notable.

Well done to the Director and the Producer. The casting was well done so much so that we actually disliked the villains … This to me is the best historical drama for 2024 for first 6 months. You should watch this if you like “ Love like the galaxy” or “ Destined”…I am re watching and totally engrossed even 2nd round. Even though the kissing scenes are NOT many but the CP chemistry is on fire … even more tantalizing because of near kisses.

A small production that stands out amongst the plethora of dramas

This is a drama, kind of almost like Chinese equivalent Romeo and Juliet except I hope it is a happy ending.
As per details synopsis, this is a forbidden love between two “leaders”, one which is ostracized and misunderstood Ji tribethat was blamed for mis fortunes and also deaths in the other neighboring States.

Yang Zhe and Zhang Yuan Yuan : the CP have good chemistry and both are good actors. Yang Zhe is ML from the Killer is also Romantic and My bossy wife both dramas which I liked his portrayal of the roles …. The music is good and the pace is good as each episode is only 15 mins , so is considered a short drama.

The CP met under unexpected circumstances and then separated because the ML wanted to return to address the mis understanding between the two tribes … ended up with both CP losing their memories because ML was imprisoned by his brother the Lord of the Liang State which then caused the amnesia for the CP of their time spent together. The prejudices against the Ji tribe is tremendous and it is unclear if ML is able to finally address and lay them at rest…however, spend the time and you won’t regret. The beginning is quite exciting.

Underrated Romance drama

The acting by the casts by and large are good especially the CP.
ML and FL interactions though initially bumpy are mostly sweet.
Whilst there are annoying characters like the usual rival to FL but not as annoying here.
Using many story lines elsewhere here but I find this interesting because of the introduction of AI that is quite convincing.
There is possibly another 2nd CP but after only 6 episodes, impossible to tell. Yes there are sweet kissing scenes between the CP. Given there is only 12 episodes : the CP confess their feelings at mid point at Ep 6.

This drama has a main CP that are confirmed eye candy. Definitely may be underrated and great to watch if you are waiting for longer drama with more interesting plots. Watch this as time investment is not much. Around 30 mins per episodes.

Another good mini drama

I actually find the director that directed “A familiar stranger “ very good.
Although he is not listed for this drama, I am sure it is him. In either episode 1 or 2 , he dropped in scene from “A familiar stranger”, a drama which I adored and have re watch a few times.

This is about a mistaken identity for a stuntwoman who often do stunts for a famous actress.
The romance between a rich business man looking for the lady that saved him years ago when he had a temporary sight loss.
There are also another plot brewing with 2ML and 1ML. Both are good actors and eye candy. The 2FL is also from “A familiar stranger”, so far her character at ep 6 is innocuous.

There are lots of chemistry between 1ML and 1FL…..So far the interactions are interesting but nothing steamy. However the story has lots of twists… watch this and I am sure you will enjoy it.

Funny and entertaining drama

I found this drama entertaining after 6 episodes and have continued watching. There are many good actors in it aside from Leo Luo , there is also Sebrina Chen , Ryan Cheng , Deng Shang, Huang Ri Ying , cameo by Cheng Xiao and Song Yi the FL.

Essentially this is a historical romance between a face blind ML and a shape shifting FL ( saw that in some modern Korean drama years ago)…anyway, the CP ends up marrying three times… so far I am at their coming 2nd marriage. Much better role for Leo Luo and I find him much better in historical garb than modern clothing because he is super skinny.

I actually enjoying the possible romance between Ryan Cheng and Huang Ri Ying even more than that between the main CP and also watching who Sebrina who plays ML bratty half sister will end up with.
If you are like waiting for Lost you forever Season 2; this is a good filler and I am still missing “The Double “ an excellent historical romance drama that ended a week ~ ago. Jump in and watch … just accept shape shifting is possible and then go with the hilarious flow…

The first CP to me is NOT as interesting as the 2nd CP : Ryan Cheng and Huang Ri Ying … anyway I would still recommend this as the costumes are beautiful and the production is well done. I hope to see Ryan Cheng as ML in a full length drama.

Finally Fan Zhi Xin has a new drama

I have been a fan of his since his explosive performance in My Lethal Man.

This looks good just watching the first 4 episodes… I just hope this will NOT have a bad ending. I am a sucker for happy endings , what I hate more than sad endings are those that is without endings and leaving us with a Cliffhanger.

Thus far: ML seemed to be trying to keep ahead and keep FL alive… there are suggestions of parallel universe and somehow ML is aware of possible tragedy in another universe involving him and FL. Zhi Xin has good chemistry with the FL even if currently it mostly angsty with FL…His acing is very good especially if you watch his micro expressions.

This and My Lethal Man absolutely convinced me that Zhi Xin is an excellent actor. The script is not as tight and exciting as My Lethal man and can be a bit confusing shifting between “past” and “present “ as the interactions causes changes and where I am at Ep 12, seemed like ML died instead of FL. Though it has also scenes where FL is in a coma…

As I did expect ; it would be difficult to top My Lethal Man for a short drama ( 30 mins ) and 16 eps only. The director and script writer for that drama is excellent and so are the acting team.

What gutted me was his love confession towards the end of ep12 in French ….love it.

For a short drama, this has been a gripping story of what would you do to save your beloved. I am glad it has a happy ending…the past converges with the future and he figured how to keep his beloved from being killed. I will rewatch this. I like the reminder to live for the moment . Carpe Diem. Go ahead and watch this. I am sure most will definitely enjoy this.

A drama that released after being produced 10 years ago …

This drama was apparently shot 10 years ago , back in 2015 .
It has Korean actress Park Min Young and a very skinny youngish Jeremy Tsui ….
Also has Hans Zhang as the ML, other actors include Janice Wu , Ryan Xhang and Sophie Zhang , all of whom are ML and FL in more newer dramas… The color and style are very different from current drama productions.

However once you get past that it is not too bad, this is a drama about hidden identities: both ML and likely FL.
The ML [ Hans] replaces a nobleman after he was killed and supposedly from humble beginnings but there is definitely a story to his identity…. FL [Park MY] also is not all she made herself up to be and seemed to be en route somewhere.

I am not sure if I will complete it, I watched because I like Jeremy Tsui and Park Min Young … however, the scrip is also very 2015 …. Not exactly like how a current historical idol drama is scripted. Anyway, I will come back after another few episodes before I decide if to complete this… the actors are competent and if you lack drama to watch may consider.

The last few drama for Jeremy Tsui

I am watching this because of Jeremy Tsui and Li Landi. I love both these two actors.
The beginning is interesting though still somewhat slow … I believe CP is Ren JL and Li Landi.
I really like what I see of Jeremy Tsui thus far …
Wei Zhao (REN) seemed to be the nephew of the emperor as his mother was the emperor’s sister. Likely some conspiracy that implicate the Emperor…. Pei Yan ( Jeremy) is a Lord who seemed to be entrusted with managing some talk with another neighboring country…
However, during the talk, Wei Zhao tried to kidnap or believed to try to assassinate the delegate for talks nd was foiled by Li Landi ‘s character, more a wrong place at wrong time situation….

There is a lot of angst and fights between the 2 MLs and FLs in the first 10-12 episodes. Initially, 1st ML and FL fought quite furiously… until about ep 14/15 where their relationships became closer due to common case interests. Ep 17 has got to be the highlight of all the episodes I watched thus far….the dynamics between FL changes from being supportive of Pei Yan to Commander Wei. I do like how nuanced the interactions are between all 3 leads … I see Jeremy Tsui and REN’s role as both leads … there is a “reverse “ harem with the doctor, Wei Zhao and Pei Yan all liking FL ( Li Landi’s role)…

Definitely a good drama to watch … the story and characters all have complex personalities and nuanced storytelling…
