Something new

This drama truly has been one of a kind. Though I have seen very good historical c-dramas before, 'Love like the Galaxy' stands out.

The direction and music score in this drama were so beautiful, it took my breath away. Both beautifully highlighted the characters and the actors portraying them, making their talent shine. I especially loved the emotionally charged scenes such as Zhisheng's revenge and the Empress last moment. It's the first time I have seen editing like that in a c-drama. It almost felt like I was watching an musical, how gracefully it all was shown.

Lusi I've always loved, while Leo's acting has gotten even more solid after I last saw him in 'The Long Ballad'. I am deeply impressed by his talent and range while portraying this character . Best actor award, I do believe he truly deserves it.
ShaoShang and Zhisheng's confessions and kiss at the end, felt like a modern wedding with personal vows. Her smiling at her parent after the kiss and the rest of the family coming out, felt like a celebration after they've officially become husband and wife. It's so heartwarming to see these two lonely children, finally being surrounded with people who love them. To me, it was a perfect ending.

I commend the director, the actors and the entire production for creating such a masterpiece. Every little detail was done absolute to perfection. Though I do have minor criticisms, this drama was perfect. I see this drama going down in the books for sure!

Started off well but ended in a mess (Watch at your own risk)

I have no previous experience with the cast except for Liu Yi Chang whose acting I've enjoyed in 'I've fallen for you'.
Which means that unlike many others, I went into this drama blind.

The main leads are both seen as one thing: lucky or unlucky, with the male main lead being unlucky and the female lead being very lucky. The plot makes use of foretelling visions in dreams, which is the main force behind the first meet-ups of the two main characters. What started nice maybe slightly annoying, quickly turned into quite enjoyable drama. Besides the few clichéd plot turns which can be overlooked if you're in for a light drama watch, the plot was building up nicely.

However and there is a BIG HOWEVER, the 'conflicts' that the writers kept inventing to keep the plot going are just so ridiculous, you need to turn off the part of your brain that controls logical thinking if you want to continue watching this drama. I have seen drama writers make use of the same ploy before but never have I seen an drama which expects its viewers to be so blind!

I honestly liked the way the actors are doing their job, but the way the plot turned from entertaining to just plain BAD is unbearable. The only saving grace you can say are the second lead couple, the talent of the actors themselves and perhaps the production.

If it wasn't bad enough, it's obvious that the writers were hurrying trying wrap this up last three episodes. Trying to wrap my head around it just gives me a headache. The only reason continued I watching, is because of the time I had invested in the drama and because I still had hope for my second lead couple. The only way I was able to finish this drama at all is because I skipped most of the last episodes.

Unless you are already a fan of the cast or if you don't mind sitting through a whole drama to see if they second lead couple ends up well, I see no reason for you to start watching this drama.

DO NOT waste your precious time on this drama. You are better of watching fan made compilations online. It will save your brain a lot of trouble.

Lovely from beginning to end!

Incredible script and great cast and good production. Solid performance by all the actors.
There were times I really felt the chills run over my spine and times when the tears ran over my face. Besides the great build up, the comedy written in the dialogues had me laughing out loud many times. Really one of the best dramas of 2020. You will not be disappointed. I really liked it. Now I'm curious what other projects the writer has done and what she might do in the future.

P.S. The actor playing Ssang-tae, Oh Jung Se has done an phenomenal job. The way he portrayed the mannerisms is absolutely spot on! A complete change from his role in 'When the Camelia blooms'. It completely changed the view I had of him as an actor.

A beautiful and realistic portrayal of (romantic) relationships in life

Such an amazing drama, with such a beautiful portrayal of romantic relationships through different stages. It also realistically portrayed the hardships people go through in current society. I liked how they showed the character finding and choosing their own happiness, just as we strife to do every day.

The casting was perfect. Each actor performed their role very well and the main couple just melted my heart with their sweetness.

Though this drama didn't have any big highs or lows that kept me at the edge of your seat, it flowed naturally like a real story would. I wouldn't recommend this drama to people who want to take their mind of things, as this drama does go into some serious societal issues. However for people for people who enjoy who enjoy slice of dramas this is a great pick.

Overall it was a very nice watch. I'm going to miss seeing these characters on my screen. 8/10.

Best of the best!

I am usually not one for thrillers but this drama...it touched my soul.

The acting by Lee Joongi and Moon Chae Won was beyond words. This drama is definitely one the best I have ever seen in all the years I've been watching dramas. The directing and production brought this already incredible script to another level of brilliance. I can't leave out the editing and the beautiful additions of the OST.

Each actor performed their role so brilliantly that you're glued to screen wanting to know what happens next.
Everything about this was just phenomenal. I am so happy that director Kim Cheol-Kyu won the award for Best Director at the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards. It is truly deserved.

P.S. I've known Lee Joongi's since 'Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo' and Moon Chaewon from 'The Innocent Man'. So I knew both of them were good. Moon Chaewon however completely blew me away with her performance. I am now officially her fan as well.
