Second half is not worth your time

I really wanted to like this drama because of the hype but I was disappointed.

I must say the first half of the drama I was really intrigued. After every episode, I was so surprised and was really curious to what would happen next. But in the second half, they had a lot problems that were rising so they dealt with it by getting the male lead to forget his memories. So dumb. Second half is like a whole other drama.

There were so many questions they didn't answer. The ending was the worst. He just magically survived death and appeared in the real world. They didn't even explain why. A waste of time.

They had no chemistry at all. She just had the same worried look through the whole drama. The male lead just was a boring "perfect" character. Both leads were very 2 dimensional. There was no building of relationship or why they liked each other. Suddenly, they just liked each other.

Worst romantic drama.

I haven't been this addicted to a drama in a long time

This show is the most realistic romantic kdrama I’ve watched. It's been a long time since I have rewatched a drama so many times. I stay awake all night just rewatching scenes because it gives me so much feeeeels.

Every time I see the girl smile or do something embarrassing I can’t help but smile or when she picks herself up and brushes it off I smile even more. I can relate to the main leads so much. I understand her struggle in comparing to others and I understand his sadness and struggle in opening up to his feelings. The scenes are romantic because the guy is sad and shy so when he does anything that shows his real emotions, it’s really romantic.

It doesn’t have the typical jealous moments or the death stakes. It’s just 2 people who fall in love and the struggles that come with that. Such a believable romance.

The writer really understood emotions. I understood why the characters would act the way they did. She really understands pain and loss. I could feel the same pain when the characters were hurting.

The directing was amazing. I like how they used sound to create emotions and story tell.

I have to take points off for the slow 4 episodes before the ending. Sometimes I think the girl can be irrational like an annoying child but other than that, I love it.

I would rewatch it for the romance.

This show created beautiful relationships

I normally don't watch historical dramas but I gave this one a try because of the high ratings and I didn't regret!

I cried for weeks after finishing this drama because of the characters that die and how there were so many people that protected the main lead that he didn't get in his first life but got in his second. There are so many tragic and beautiful relationships. This drama is smartly written and every character has a motive.

I rewatched this drama so many times! It's really beautiful.

Cried in each episode bc so touching. I don't like bad guy and love triangles

I'm on the fence about this show. It has heartwarming moments that I LOOOVVEE and can watch again and again but at the same time, the moments in between those amazing moments are meh. Like Il kwon(the bad guy), love triangles, high school fair and parties.

I have to say the first half was better than the last half.

I cried in every episode because of the heartwarming family moments. He is an amazing dad and husband and a guy with good morals. He risks anything and everything for his children and wife.

This show highlights Chief Oh and Geurae's (Misaeng) relationship x10

I didn’t expect this show to be about business politics like Misaeng and a bit like Healer hehe.

But at the same time, it’s very meaningful. It also teaches a lot of life lessons.

The main girl is so smart and so strong. She is willing to do anything for her family but at the same time, she’s so street savvy, quick on her feet. I love how she doesn’t let anyone tear her down. She always fights back with the upper hand.

It hurts so much seeing her have to live in poverty and look after her grandma and have a loan shark beating her up. Even with so much hardship, she still has enough strength in her heart to care for a nice stranger.

I finally understand why these 2 characters are the main leads. The guy is nice to everyone even to those that have wronged him and the girl is blunt and says and does things that he is unable to do because he is too nice. He is nice to her and everyone whilst she is willing to stand up for him. They stand up for each other. They are like each others’ secret soul mates.

I’m addicted to their scenes. I’m addicted to how they’re in so much misery but how they are able to care for each other in spite of that.

Far out! I feel like the more you rewatch this show the more you’ll understand how they feel and cry with them. Their relationship is so special that you can’t put into words. The most love a person can give is when they care for you despite what others say about you. When they fight for you. The way they fight for each others’ internal and external battles, I think that is the most pure form of love that anyone would die to have.

One of the best relationships in kdrama history and one I would be willing to rewatch time and time again.

Started strong but fizzled out

The first episode was an absolute hooker!!!

First episode:
It had amazing chemistry between the leads. It had funny moments and finally it ended with such a surprising twist which made me really want to watch the next episode.

Episode 2 onwards:
To my dismay, everything just fizzled out. No chemistry. No funny moments. Just a lot of cases. I have to say the cases were interesting but everything else was meh. The last episode was just filled with funny moments which would've been better if they spread out the funny moments throughout.

Still a good watch but not for the romance.

So much unnecessary angst and predictable story

I have to say I watched this drama 11 years after it's release. After reading the raving reviews, I decided to give this one a go.

The first few episodes were probably the worst part of the drama. There was so much angst, the type that made me not want to continue watching. It wasn't like intense and made me watch more, it was quite the opposite. I was yawning throughout.

After he forgot his memories, that's when I enjoyed it a lot more but I still didn't enjoy it hahaha
It was like a remake of The prince that turned into a frog. Very predictable story.

I was annoyed by the male lead's ignorance at the end. He just wanted split from her because of his own misunderstanding.

Watch it once but that's enough.

Most intelligently written romantic comedy drama

This drama is hands down the best romantic comedy drama I've ever seen.

Reasons why it's the best drama ever:

Romance
At the start of the show, it already set up the romance and the realistic obstacles that they have to face. My mum really liked the first few episodes because it was really cute how he already started liking her from high school and couldn't stop. What made this romance one that everyone would root for is both leads have loveable personalities that make the viewers fall for them as well. The girl is very honest because of her sneezing syndrome and the guy is very supportive who has a tragic past. There's so many romantic scenes when she realises she likes him but he already liked her when they first met. So many scenes that they can't be together but can't keep away from each other. There isn't any silly scenes where they split up for no reason, they split up for believable and realistic reasons.

Drama
I love how there wasn't a villain trying to kill them because that is so overdone. The drama is more about the corruption in reporters and the leads learning how to be better reporters. There is a reason why there is corruption. The villain is three dimensional. It's also about the bonds between family as well.

Comedy
I love how they sprinkle comedy in each episode that will make you laugh out loud. It's either the personalities are funny or the reporter team that are so funny. Every personality was so well written, it made me want to do reporting and work for them hahaha

Definitely a rewatch because the romantic scenes (I've watched them so many times)

I'm a big fan of this writer because she always creates intelligent stories along with funny and romantic moments.

Very underwhelmed by the story but FL is the only one that saves the show.

I love Man-wol but I think there is just too much talking about the past without showing us what happened in the past. There’s a lot of talking and less doing. The ghost of the day and the killer seems like a distraction/filler from the main story. There is like 2 episodes between midway and ending which was good but other than that, everything was slow.

A little predictable which is expected from Korean dramas. There is so much budget in the production but I can tell that there is a lot of CGI. It is really hard for me to immerse myself into that world since everything seems so fake.

There isn’t enough chemistry between the leads. The male lead seems too stiff and one dimensional. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if they have chosen another male lead.

I feel so much more for the second lead that waited for 1000 years by her side, loving her. He risked his life, his pride just to save her. And even waiting 1000 years, he is willing to be happy for her falling in love with someone that is not him.

OST is amazing!! It just captures the right emotions at the right moment. Directing is amazing as well.

I'm just a bit underwhelmed with the ending and the whole show. Everything was slow but the only saving grace is Man Wol.

Fall in love with complexity of real life and the comfort of conversations and relationships

I feel like this show is a bit predictable but a bit original, so a bit of both.

First, I like an underdog fighting its way through the corporate world. I like each intern’s little journey to develop themselves. I like little moments of humour they sprinkle throughout the show. I like how they show all the real struggles of life which makes this show really comforting to watch. I like how they relate real life to playing badeuk which makes the show intriguing and interesting.

But at the same time, I feel like each cliffhanger or some of the episode arcs seem a bit predictable but I still like watching them.

Sometimes others might think it’s too slow, but I think every scene is placed there to create the feelings.

Keeps you at the edge of your seat for the whole time

I like how the cases were really unexpected and interesting. I was intrigued from the get go.

Of course the acting was amazing but I have to say the story and the character development fell flat. The character and even the evil ones felt like they didn't have depth and their personalities are only skin deep. There's no developing of any relationship, it's just the main team solving case by case.

Sometimes it's really unrealistic that the team can save the day just in time every time. But besides from that, I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a show to keeps you at the edge of your seat every second of the way!

Subverts from chaebol meets poor girl story and puts in interesting and quirky twists and characters

They have good chemistry but not amazing chemistry.

They don’t have the slow build up of romantic feelings. I feel like they already broke the wall of romantic gestures from the get go. So when they kiss, it doesn’t feel as romantic.

There’s a lot of funny scenes so I was never bored. But they weren’t laugh out loud funny. It was just little chuckles.

They revealed everything too early. 2nd half felt like it dragged a bit.

However, the good thing about this drama is that it always manages to be funny throughout a lot of the show because all the characters even the evil ones are somehow really quirky. The ending made me cry because it was so heartwarming.

I would not rewatch because I now know what happens and the romantic scenes were not romantic enough but overall it was a good watch.

It's a journey

Having watched Signal before this, I can’t help but compare.

Both are different in a sense. Signal had more impactful flashbacks and every case was linked together but Life of Mars was more a journey, you’ll not only fall more in love with the characters’ personalities, but watching each of them grow for the better is so heartwarming. The climax builds up until the very end. It’s more lighthearted with sprinkles of humour and simpler cases. You just hope the team stays together. The ending is kinda sad, it depends on how you interpret it.

The only reason I wouldn't rewatch it because I've already watched the ending and it wouldn't be as good as the first time.

The best kdrama ending!

To be honest, this kdrama isn't one that you'll rewatch scenes over and over again.

The more you watch it, the more you'll become more invested in the previous life's story. By the end, you'll be crying over their tragic fate, but you will feel so happy because the present healed all the pain.

I feel like they should've shown more of the past life because it's way more interesting than the present. The music suited the drama with a nostalgic tone.

I'll watch this kdrama for the ending.

Most realistic romantic drama

I loved how they showed the leads' different struggles and their amazing friendship that helped them through life.

I've always wanted a friendship like that. Having someone always here for you through your ups and downs. Everything was very realistic: from their job struggles to relationship problems. There was nothing over dramatic. Their relationship growing from friends to lovers seems very realistic as well.

I love how the male lead is patient and caring. He fell in love with her strong and blunt personality. She knew everything about him and makes the best decisions for him. They're like Yin and Yang but fit so perfectly together. They're like chasing each other, never together at the right time.

People might think this is very slow but I really liked the pacing.
