Watched this because of Bailu and wasn't prepared for the pain

I have rewatched this so many times and am somehow still surprised that I cry each time. I watched bc of bailu and truly wasn't prepared for what happened. This show was so beautifully done form the acting, to the plot, to the camera work, etc. I loved that this show really made me care about the side characters and relationships as well. There are somethings I don't really understand but it absolutely does not detract from the show for me. Bailu's performance was incredible -- so many crying scenes and they all felt different and believable. BL is such a happy and loud person that seeing her act as Shiyi and really solidly compose the character was impressive. This work was masterfully done, the two main leads had such small moments together but you could feel how delicate that was and how important they were to one another. The tone of the show felt nicely woven and everything felt earned based on character's decisions (except for one guy -- maybe I wasn't paying enough attention but I could not understand that one dude)..

My first bailu drama ~ made me a huge fan

Loved this show bc we had a strong FL who's spunky and how morality was betrayed! She used her strength to save others being hurt by those considered virtuous. Her chemistry with XK was great and loved that her initial goal of creating the WanLu sect was her main goal and Mo Qing was dutifully helping her and they didn't fall in love at first sight. The first half was my favorite, some parts dragged at the second half for me, and some editing or directing choices were questionable. I think I'm biased cause this is one of my first cdramas so i'm more attached to Zhao Yao. Hope Bailu can have another role like Zhao Yao - the red look with the hawk is iconic. I'm still obsessed with the ost 招摇 <3

bailu and luoyunxi are amazing <3

The Bo're life arc made the most impact and sense to me. I rewatched periodically and find it so well done. I think this show suffered a little due to the new episode restrictions but i still liked the fast pacing. I was shook by LYX acting as tantai jin his facial and body awareness really brought to life each and every scene. My girl bailu also rocked (especially devil sanjiu) but I felt the writers scrapped some development for li susu. Hope she can play a character like tantai jin/zhao yao like she wants! Wish they would release the full 58 eps! Not sure what they will do for the sequel.. but would love for a third collab with them. Also think it's hilarious that Love Is Sweet became popular again because ppl needed fluffy content for them. The behind the scenes were hilarious and such a contrast from the show. I love them so much.
