If you are after a Soredemo Ikite Yuku style movie with tense situations and masterful acting that will haunt you long after the credits roll, Harmonium is the movie for you. Must watch.

There’s an electric youthful energy that propels both films forward. Shizuka Ishibashi plays both main female lead consumed by doubt, anxiety and fear of the mundane lives for which to be hopeful. If only they knew how to take that terrifying first step towards one another.

The heart doesn't always know what it wants.
A love story so real you don't know if you're dreaming or not?
Surrealism at it's finest. Murakami would be proud.

Both films are a gem; for its character studies matched with impeccable performances and for its story which keeps you guessing until the end and for hours afterwards.

I should also add the surreal dance both female leads share, is sure to be one to remember in cinema history.

Essentially both films are about student-teacher relationship, which is a well-worn enough trope that you'd think it impossible to writing anything fresh out of it, but Yong Soon approaches its characters and themes with a slightly optimistic purity and comes out the other side a bittersweet mess.

A very underrated sports film, with a little bit of a twist.
It's quirky, it's sweet, it's funny and the characters are all really likeable and hilarious.
The best kind of comfort, the best kind of escapism—convincing and sincere.

Both based on true events of The Rape of Nanking, 1937.
This certainly isn't an easy film to watch (*warning*: graphic rape scenes) but it's an important look into a period of history that deserves to be recognized by more people.

Both male leads are hopeless romantics. This is the type of film that should appeal to hipsters... but is too good for them.

The complete package about suspense politic in dark history of Korea. When it needs to be funny it is and when it needs to show you the horrific things that happened in the Gwangju Uprising. Song Kang-ho can't be applauded enough for making this mix of emotions work so well.
