These films both have a school setting among a group of friends and realistic characters. There is a strong emphasis on character growth. And overall the group of friends in each and their lives is something you can easily get mesmerized with and want to see them happy, feel sad when they are, etc.

I love both of these film dearly so if you like one I'm positive you'll like the other!

Both are well-filmed Japanese dramas based on the classic novels written by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. They also share a crime-centric plot with a lot of psychological aspects and a desaturated color palette.

Both are about a girl and a boy who were friends when they were young, and then when they grow up, they meet each other again. Both have a similar atmosphere, though Koinaka is a J-dorama.

Both films are similar in subtext although very different otherwise. However, both films are very silent. In Daisy the main character can't speak for the bigger part of the film and in 3-iron there are no spoken lines before the very end. However, both films have excellent cinematography and artistic film-making, making them both very interesting to watch.

Both leading actresses give off the same vibe. Similar message and theme centred around the relationship between the two main characters- and how the man's 'condition' affects that relationship.

If you are a psychological/romance film fan, then you should definitely check out both.

Both movies have similar theme about friendship/unrequited love about young people pretending to be in a relationship. Each are of a slow pace and have interesting and beautiful cinematography throughout. Their endings are very different, but I still recommended this because the storylines are both realistic with characters shouting with authenticity.
