Tearjerker

As usual, Roy Chiu delivers! This movie is about a softhearted debt collector that has fallen in love with his debtor.

The storyline revolves around his life as a collector and his life with the woman he fell for. The movie has a very authentic feel to it. Very good cinematography of the poor, urban life-- very realistic to say the least.

Roy Chiu, a vibrant actor brought it and will make you cry in the last 10 minutes of the movie. Apparently, Roy won the Best Actor awards for his role in this film including the female lead Ann Hsu.

I may not want to rewatch this movie as it was painful to do so. But hey, Man In Love is definitely worth your time.

Calm After The Storm

The entire movie is focused on Xiao Jing and her struggles as a daughter of a parent that had a mental breakdown. Xiao Jing's mother has been living a stressful life at work and living in some delusion that her husband is coming home (they're divorced) and she continues to be in denial about this fact. The tipping point was when Xiao Jing was sent home from school when a classmate was found positive of covid. Xiao Jing never cared for her overbearing mother who was on the brink of losing control of everything in her life-- bills left unpaid, staring blankly at the wall at work and the only "normalcy" for her was her daughter. When Pin-Wen almost burned their house down, and she was taken to the hospital, Xiao Jing decided to take care of her mother.

The storyline is a bit forlorn and the movie's pace is slow. But the director's intent is felt throughout the hour and a half. When Xiao Jing's mother's mental health started to improve and when her mother was finally ready to face the realities of life, she decided to find work (she was let go from the previous job) at a supermarket where she met Chen. Despite all the lies that the mother said about her previous work experience (she did not disclose the fact that she worked in a huge company and was let go), she also claimed that her husband died (he was very much alive but now lives with his new wife and son). While Xiao Jing's mother was busy acclimatizing herself at work and adjusting to working with others, Xiao Jing managed to convince her mother to finally sell their huge house to pay for the loans and the other debts that have piled up during her breakdown, and hospitalization. Medicated and adjusting to her work at the supermarket, Pin-Wen finally agreed to let go of the house and all her hopes of her husband to come back to her.

The storyline brings light to the struggles of women in transition and the difficulty of raising children on their own as well as their struggles with mental challenges and fighting off delusions and illusions. The title, The Falls is a metaphor. Pin-Wen when in her psychotic moments hears water rushing through like a waterfall. She tries to run away from the sound and the rising of water but cannot do so in her head... In the last 15 minutes to the end of the movie, Xiao Jing along with her friends had an accident on a school-related trip when water from the dam was released which caused the water to rise and for Xiao Jing to be swept away along with her friends. Pin-Wen receives a call about the accident and was advised to monitor the progress of the rescue operation via television. With her worried eyes, she watch as students were revived and taken by ambulances until the camera finds Xiao Jing assisted by one of the rescuers and the movie ends.

--

The story highlights the realization that mental issues are real and they can happen to anyone. With proper support from family members and medication, anyone with mental issues can live a normal life.

Story about Dying and those left

I marathoned all 10 episodes. This drama made me cry a lot- this is a lovely story about Cream and K and the people that were brought together and touched by their lives.

This is a story about love, death, mourning, and loss.

Fandy Fan and Gingle Wang did their roles justice. The story and execution at point, you'd not want to stop watching until the very end. The lovestory of K and Cream, the past that binded them, the people that helped them until the end.

K's thought process, Cream playing along to give him peace and letting go when it was the time. The anguish and the sense of loss when a loved one passes away-- riveted through all the 10 episodes.

Believable Storyline!

You Are My Glory is worth your time and every penny. I had to watch it on Fast Track on WeTV.

The story revolves around the life of Yu Tu, an intellectual with his own flaws, and Jingjing a successful actress that used to like Yu Tu when they were in high school. The drama spans from the time the two leads met again and some flashbacks in high school when the two became friends and had a falling out.

The characters in themselves were interesting. Yang Yang's character and portrayal of Yu Tu and his own insecurities despite his intellect and accomplishments. Dilraba as Jing Jing appeared flaky and shallow in the beginning. Viewers will see how their character grows throughout the drama-- Yu Tu's deep regret and Jing Jing's courage, admiration, and dedication to her own craft. There are a lot of aerospace-related (Yu Tu's workplace) and his workmates and Jing Jing working in her set. I enjoyed the gaming scenes at Jing Jing's home and during the competition itself. There are few side couples in this drama-- thank heavens. While the drama revolves around the two, the side romances are relevant and nicely connected with their story.

Honestly Too Long

I decided to watch this costume drama because of Allen Ren and Seven Tan. The 50 episode is too much if you ask me, and a condensed 30 would have sufficed. I liked all the life-saving and fighting parts between the leads and skipped most of the scenes of the 2nd leads.

Like most costume dramas, this drama boasts a huge cast and good production. Some scenes were contrived but saved by the awesome chemistry between the leads that carried through all the episodes.

I hope to see a none period drama of Allen Ren and Seven Tan someday.

Why I Adore My Little Happiness

I will make this short and concise.

Below are reasons why this cdrama is worth your time:

1. No annoying and unreasonable 2nd leads;
2. The main leads are straightforward. Few to no-nonsense misunderstandings.
3. Lots of awesome kisses- these two have chemistry.
4. ML loves her to death and she liked him for a long time as well.
5. No annoying side couples. The focus of the drama is the couple themselves and their friends.
6. Alot of solid and not boring hospital and legal discussions.
7. No annoying parents and family feud in here. Just plain parents and grandparents that adore their children and supports them.
8. Love the Uncle and bestie scenes. This drama is about maturity and bonded by long-time friendship.
9. ML is hot and TALL! FL is petite and has the sincerest smiles that I have seen in cdrama. Their scenes sizzles. He wants her period. No ifs or buts.
10. No long and unnecessary scenes. This drama is 28 episodes that you could joyfully marathon. No scene skipping on my part.
