FREENBECK CHEMISTRY
Freen's portrayal of Khun Sam is arguably the best among all the casts. her eyes displayed so much emotions that doesn't need tears during sad scenes, while, on the other hand, Becky's portrayal of Mon is at the average level. I felt that her crying scenes were forced, literally forcing herself to cry, as seen on her face (comparing to Freen's crying scenes), the script should've not asked her to cry that much. I have read the original novel, and I see that IDF squeezed the story into 12 episodes, but I do feel that few more episodes would've have give justice to the series. Imagine the rollercoaster of emotions in an episode? It's like one minute, they are inlove, the next minute they're fighting, I speak of "one minute" literally. I understand that there are reasons for fitting the whole story into such short series but the roller coaster ride is not good all the time. The OSTs are good, but the background music of some scenes are not. One instance was when Sam was asking for forgiveness from Mon in episode 9, she was backhugging Mon that time. Initially the piano music was good, it fits perfectly with that scene, then suddenly, the background music changed, and much to my dismay, the background music didn't match the emotion being displayed by the actors. I felt that it's not necessary to change background music in a single scene (that show's same emotion, unless, suddenly the emotion changed from sad to happy). I should also mention the lighting, superb! Ultimately, kudos to the chemistry of the main actors (FreenBecky), they salvaged the storyline, couldn't ask for a better chemistry than what they have. But hopefully, if they have next project, they will have a better script/story line.
