So... I just finished watching the whole I love you as a man / like love series and I must say... THIS WAS POWERFUL.
I was quite lost at first because I didn't know where to start. I ended up starting by Like Love the series and then the two movies. I think I made the right choice!! I'm really sad that they won't be making the last movie. I think it stands out from other bl dramas because of the relationship's dynamics. Even though this wasn't perfect, it gave me all the feels and I lost count of how many times I screamed while watching this series. The kisses are SO good. They surely have chemistry. The hot scenes... Jesus Christ. They were very explicit but at the same time I didn't think they were "ugly"?? I dont know how to explain but I don't usually like when there are sex scenes as explicit as the ones in here but the main couple had so much chemistry that I didn't mind at all. I thought they were very beautiful. I'm sorry but even though Ziyan was grumpy as hell he truly deserved to be happy. I like me some bad boys who are in fact good. I don't want to spoil anything but his development throughout the movies/series made me emotional. Some people might have not noticed it but I think his love for MaiDing really turned him into a different man. Ahhh what a crush.
One of the best parts was the soundtrack. I haven't watched many chinese shows but I have noticed that the ballads are stunning. I'll download all of them!
I will probably rewatch this many many many times. And now let's go follow the actors on social media. haha

This is one of the hardest reviews I've ever written. I was obsessed with this series for so long and seeing it coming to an end is very sad. I watched the trailer by chance and since then I knew I would have to watch this show. When it came out, I kept thinking about it throughout the week, wishing Friday would come faster. The first 7/8 episodes were god tier for me! Everything was going smoothly, the relationship wasn't rushed, the acting was great and I was so interested in the story that I couldn't look away from the screen for one second! I honestly thought this would be my first 10-star BL.
Unfortunately, the last few episodes weren't all that great and I saw the amazing potential of this drama being wasted in clichés (so many trust issues...), weird editing (I can't deal with all those saliva-cough-swalling-breathing sounds, I'm sorry) and simply... uninteresting.
The plot in the last 4 episodes was a bit pathetic, if I'm being honest. I don't want to spoil anyone but it was SO repetitive and predictable. The couple felt more like a couple before they became a couple (see what I did there? ;)), which made me really sad. I wasn't expecting any explicit scenes (that's not even why I watch BL shows) but I was expecting a little more intimacy.
The acting was good for the most part. Win surprised me with his crying scenes and Bright is just a pleasure to look at (although his angsty expression could make less appearances).
I was interested in the side couples but, just like the main couple, their stories seemed to have ended up no where. Drake... your eyebrows distracted me big time (I love you, I'm sorry).
The friendship in this drama didn't satisfy me one bit. The friends seemed to have disappeared after a few episodes, similar to other characters such as Green. Some of my favorite dialogues included Tine's friends so I was a bit disappointed.
Honestly, if I could describe this show in a word it would be Potentially-Amazing-But-Ultimately-Disappointing (is that more than one word...?). But I couldn't give it less than 8.5stars because of the thrilling first few episodes.
It's still a quick and light drama to watch for those who have some free time. But I was truly wishing this was more than that... oh well, maybe if we get a second season!

Instead of writing a full heartfelt review on why I loved this drama, I'll give you some reasons to watch it:

-The main character's parents (Pete and Kao) are some of the best parents in the BL universe. I'm not even exaggerating. Both of them are iconic.

-SunMork. I don't want to spoil it for you but I can't help but praise these two actors. There did a phenomenal job with their characters. Truly amazing. The development is incredible, the fluff is there, the chemistry is outstanding, the acting is great too. I watched it for PeteKao but I'm so happy I loved this couple's story as well.

-PeteKao. Of course, our main couple. I fell in love with them when I watched Kiss Me Again, and they were literally the only good thing about that show. I'm glad their friends and their relationship has another chance and is developed in this show. I reaaaally loved New and Tay's acting, it improved a lot. Also, their chemistry is no joke. I'm just super happy we got a whole new season with just these two amazing couples!

-Realistic relationships. The way the characters dealt with the problems that they had to face was very mature and realistic. I, for once, didn't blame the characters for being straight up stupid. Very well-developed plot.

I think you can watch it without having to suffer through Kiss Me Again! Just go for it and have fun. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Disastrous show

What to say about this train wreck of a show… I disliked every single aspect of it. I’m a huge fan of korean zombie shows and movies but this drama is just an embarrassment. I don’t understand how it became popular in the first place, as it has 0 redeeming qualities to it.

I’m truly infuriated and disgusted with myself for having even watched it until the end. I guess I was hoping for the plot to deliver what it promised but it was full of clichés, repetitions, stupid useless scenes and characters, anti-climatic outcomes and everything bad a story can have. I’ll forgive the acting (the older actors were good though) because most of these people are pretty new in the game and they’re young, but the acting was pretty bad too. The characters were useless, unlikeable, unrealistic, their actions made no sense and their worries (crushes????like wtf????) were meaningless most of the time. And the inconsistencies with the way the infected acted (how long it took them to turn etcetc) just pissed me off. The way the story was told as a whole isn’t coherent or interesting.

To be fair, it could have been really good if they had wasted less time with irrelevant storylines, if had organized the way it’s presented in a more thrilling way, if they had made the characters and their reactions more realistic and logical… I could go on for a whole hour. But maybe it would have been a decent drama had it been released in 2014 or something. The thing is, especially if you compare it to actually amazing zombie movies and shows, namely Train to Busan and Kingdom, this is honestly just ridiculous.

I didn't intend to write a review for this drama because one user who I had the chance to talk with in my feeds has already said everything I thought was wrong with the plot and the characters (Kate, your review is iconic). In her review, the terrible mental health representation and the abuser behaviour was extremely well explained so I suggest you all to go read it (the review was posted in January 2020, user KATE). But I decided to add a few things so that I could explain my rather high rating. So everything I write in this review will be a continuation of what she said.

First things first, I don't know how so many people are able to look past the obvious train wreck that is the plot. Yes, the chemistry is great but does it justify the "uncomfortable scenes" in this show? The scene that bothered me the most was the one where Tharn kisses and touches Type while he is drunk and sleeping; it simply doesn't match Tharn's personality and if the writer and the director's intention was to make it hot and get our hearts racing they certainly did that... my heart was racing with FURY. The fact that Type kept punching Tharn despite him being the man he loves and sleeps with every night made me really angry as well. Is violence okay just because you're jealous and furious? I am praying that the plot is different in season 2 because by the last episode the characters did seem to have developed as human beings and as lovers.

Although the transitions were super strange and we didn't know how much time had passed from one scene to the other (like how did Type suddenly offer to be a bottom in a sexual intercourse with a gay man that he clearly despised?? Wasn't he traumatised?? What????), I enjoyed the pace of the show. It wasn't boring, that's for sure.

I think the actors did the best they could with the plot they were given. The acting was decent and the chemistry between the main leads was great, which gets me to talk about the three main reasons why I gave this show a decent rating:

1- the secondary characters. I loooooved Techno so much! So funny and endearing. The parents were great. The girl Type was trying to seduce wasn't a villain, like they usually are in BL shows, and I appreciated it. Even characters that I didn't particularly like (like Tar) were important to the plot. The ones that weren't relevant to the plot made me laugh (the Korean guy and his roommate were super funny). So yeah, I really liked it.

2- the fact that this is within the Love by Chance universe. I looooove Love by Chance and it was super cool revisiting this universe. Some characters even appeared at the beginning and at the end and I was so happy! My heart was warm. I hope LBC2 and TharnType2 continues with the series crossing thing, it's really fun.

3- Mew. Just Mew. Mew Mew Mew Mew. Oh boy, that man made me feel THINGS. Every time he breathed I had a mini heart attack. When he played the drums I almost couldn't watch it because of how hot he was. His hands....... enough said. When he SMILED???????? haha.............. *sweating intensifies*. The scene where he was playing with his band and smiling and mouthing the lyrics and Type was looking at him and his eyes were shining... I....... I couldn't not give it at least 7 stars, I'm sorry. Mew is amazing and so is Tharn. EXCEPT FOR THE ALMOST RAPE SCENES. I'm sorry but it's so out of character that it genuinely frustrates me. I'm not trying to find excuses for Tharn's behaviour just because Mew is the hottest man in Thailand, by the way. I really do think these "almost-rape scenes" were there to make it more appealing and sexy for some people, which ended up ruining the show for me, and the sneaky/mischievous behaviour truly doesn't fit Tharn's character at all, in my opinion.

Ooof, now I can breathe.
Will season 2 justify these 7.5 stars and prove I was right about the character development and a promising, healthy, less train wreckish plot? I don't know. Honestly, all I have to say right now, in case you didn't get at what point I love this man, is: Mew; the power that this man holds.

Yes, break my heart one more time Korea -.-

Guys, I am writing this as I sob. Not joking. It's been an hour since I finished it and the tears keep coming out. I might die of dehydration while writing this review and I apologise in advance for the typos.

It's the first time in a long time that I watch something without looking at my phone (didn't even realise I had left it in the bathroom) or without skipping forward. I am a sucker for sweet high school stories that take place in the past, but the way this movie was filmed, the nostalgia factor (present even in the filter they chose), the lovable characters and simplicity of the plot just did it for me. This is exactly what I want from a high school drama; not being a high schooler anymore myself there is always that longing feeling towards the past and this movie definitely shoved it in my face in a very beautiful way. The actors did an amazing job at not making it sound cringy or over the top. And that ending will stay with me for a long time, I am sure of that.
I love stories like this: simple yet effective. It might not be all that to other viewers but I do have a tendency to love high school stories (especially if they take place in the 90's or early 2000's) so that probably contributes to my rating. After so many years of watching K-Dramas, it is refreshing to find something that still makes my heart beat fast and makes me feel SOMETHING. I am not a movie person as they often leave me traumatises (lol, this one kinda did too) but I am so glad I watched this movie. I feel like it took something off my chest? Like I really needed to cry and this movie allowed me to do it haha

Oh well, don't expect anything incredibly revolutionary from this story when going into it but I am sure you will at least have a good time with the characters (even in the end).

Am I still a human with feelings and capable of crying like a baby? Yes, I am. Thank you 20th century girl for the confirmation.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!

HE WANTED TO SEE 21ST CENTURY BORA GUYS I AM SOBBING UNCONTROLLABLY IN A FETAL POSITION YOU GUYS DONT UNDERSTAND HE WAS SO SWEET AND HAD SUCH A WARM VOICE AND HEART AND HE WAS SO CUTE WITH HIS BROTHER WHY WHY WHY THE HELL BUT AT THE SAME TIME IT MAKES THE MOVIE MEMORABLE AND EVEN MORE NOSTALGIC BUT GUYS WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW-

Best BL out there!

I waited over 10 months for this show. I rewatched the teaser a thousand times and wondered if it would turn out as amazing as it looked. It turned out to be even better! I'm still shaking and teary-eyed from the last episode but I feel the need to write a review to the most impactful BL of my life (and I've watched many others, since 2018),

While watching the last episode I thought to myself "If this show manages to surprise me once again and not be like other shows once again, I'll give it 10 stars for sure." And that's exactly what happened! Amazing, coherent and satisfying until the very last minute. P'Aof worked really hard on the plot and the storytelling in this series and it shows. The way each episode progressed always made so much sense, and it all seemed to tie up at the end, like a complete circle! This made the story much more enjoyable than any other BL I've watched so far. Simply lovely. Even though the first few episodes gave the impression this series would be like other GMMTV shows, full of petty and out of the blue fights and exaggerated sound effects, it progressed beautifully and got better and better, even when we all thought it wasn't possible. And the dialogues are super memorable and iconic. To sum up, it was written perfectly!

Of course I couldn't not mention the holders of the best chemistry in this industry: OhmNanon. These two were made to act beside one another. The way they connected on-screen and off-screen is one of the best things that happened in 2021 (and hopefully, it will continue to be that way forever). PatPran are amazing characters as they are, both are relationship and maturity goals, and completely different from other BL characters we had known before. But I believe they wouldn't be the same if they weren't portrayed by Ohm and Nanon, who are some of the best actors in Thailand right now, and who go together like bacon and eggs (this analogy wouldn't work for vegan readers, I'm really sorry). They delivered every single line and unspoken line with so much truth and love for the story and the characters that it made me emotional in pretty much every episode. I had never seen two men portray a romantic relationship so comfortably and accurately, so it was really touching and refreshing. I believed every stare, every dialogue, every smile and every tear, every touch and every kiss. I really hope they can work together again (which they will! Thanks GGMTV), and hopefully work again as a romantic pair. This is the type of pairing that comes once in five years, if I'm being completely honest. And trust me, it's been 5 years since my first BL series and nothing comes even close to Ohm and Nanon's chemistry.

I adored watching this show as it was airing and freaking out with everyone on Twitter. I will always be part of this fandom and I know I'll be rewatching this series from time to time, even if we don't get another season or another OhmNanon show together as lovers. Unforgettable and forever in my heart. A literal icon and the cultural reset the BL industry needed. The standards are so high right now thanks to Bad Buddy! And I can't help but look forward to what the following years will bring us, as the result of this one show. Deserving of 10 stars.

But for real though... who is gonna come get us out of this rooftop???? It's getting dark... Help?? Shall we just stay here? Yep... let's just stay!

I don't know what to say that hasn't been said about this drama before. I watched it in one go and now I just wish I could turn back time and delete everything from my memory so that I could watch it again for the first time.

I could talk about the amazing acting, the stunning realistic plot, the flawless cinematography and touching OST that told a story on their own. However, no matter how much effort I put into my words, this is one of those shows that you must watch to get the feeling it gives off.

Truly the best BL drama ever produced, and I have watched a Tale of Thousand Stars! If every BL show was as touching, memorable, raw, visually majestic like this one I would be the happiest person on this website. The amount of thought that was put into every dialogue, every shot, every sound, every facial expression blows my mind. I could pause the episode at a random scene and I guarantee you that scene would be the most beautiful thing... Also, the symbolism behind each scene is so spot on that I could write a hundred essays on this show and how symbols that appear in the very first episode are present throughout the whole show and how simple scenes or dialogues are crucial to the story as a whole.

I didn't believe people when they told me this drama was out of this world last year and only decided to watch it now. A big mistake! It's unmissable, really. It's the first BL I've added to my favorite dramas list and I'm so excited to see the progress BL shows have been making since I first started watching them in 2018. I can't wait for the projects that are to come! Hopefully other directors and screenwriters took notes ;) THIS is the level of quality that we should be expecting from a BL show! It's time to step up the game.

Now let's watch "I promise you the moon"!

Oh hello there! This is the first time my review is the first one ever here on mydramalist. It's hard to believe there hasn't been any before me; I thought this was quite a popular movie in the 80's, from what I've read.
I have to admit that the reason why I watched such an oldie was because of the 2020 drama challenge. The subbed version I watched wasn't high quality and I couldn't see the actors' faces well most of the time. But for some reason this movie enchanted me in a strange way. Japan is such a beautiful country with a beautiful culture and specially Japan in the 80's is a completely different setting than what I'm used to seeing in dramas. The characters were rather "basic" and "plain" but, at the same time, special. And the same goes for the plot. But the reason this movie had an enchanting, almost nostalgic, feeling to it was probably because of its simplicity, even though the plot may sound quite complicated- it's science fiction after all. It's simple and warm and after watching it I fell asleep immediately (it was 4pm) and dreamed I experienced the same thing as the main character! Before I woke up I felt someone whispering "Don't waste your youth" which is similar to one of the quotes in the movie. I woke up and laughed but I felt quite different.
It's definitely a movie I'll remember and probably rewatch with someone I love, so that they can feel this strange sense of self-awareness too. I somehow already feel attached to this story and setting.

I gave 10 stars to the first season and I'm not sure why I gave this one 9.5 stars instead of 10. The story, the acting, the characters. Everything was incredible. However, I think that the last episode was a bit rushed. Like, the main problem (the zombies) was kind of solved (for 7 years, at least). I wish they had shown them actually solving it, like coming up with a way to annihilate the plague and rebuilding the kingdom. But other than that, I appreciated the fact that they showed more than gore and the attacks. The political aspects of this drama were great. I really liked the queen, as a character. She was purely vicious and that's what made me attracted to her hahaha
This is a great show and I really can't wait for the third season!! Hopefully it will take less than a year to come out.

If I had watched this show last year, when my bl journey had just started,I would have given it 10 stars. I've watched so many dramas since that I simply can't give it more than 8, but that's already a good score! When I heard Singto and Ohm were doing a show together I was very apprehensive. KristSingto and SOTUS are way too popular to be replaced. And Ohm is younger and more inexperienced, despise the fact that the boy has a lot of talent. I went into this show expecting it to be full of clichés and a weird plot involving incest or pedophilia. But it was NOTHING like I was expecting it to be. It had the right amount of drama, romance, cute moments, humour, suspense. The plot was surprising and it made sense. I wasn't ecstatic about the ending, especially the last scene, but it wasn't too bad. The acting was really good, surprisingly. I think Mes fit Singto very well and Ohm... he did a fantastic job. Honestly, his character was my favorite in the story and I wish I knew someone like Than. They had chemistry and their moments were cute but I still had the age difference in mind so I was a little skeptical hahaha but I'm glad it turned out well. The best friends were all great. I loved them all and each one of them had their own personality and development. The other side characters were good too. Overall, the acting was better than most Thai shows I've watched so I was pleasantly surprised.
The music didn't particularly catch my attention but it was lovely and fit the show.
And finally, I don't think I'll ever rewatch this show but I could if I had time lol. But it was a fun ride, a sweet short story that made me excited for Ohm's next dramas!

[I lost the whole review (the biggest one I had ever written) so I had to write it all over again. I’m not salty AT ALL. Okay, let’s do this.]

I waited all these months to watch this!!! I’m a huge TayNew fan and I had already watched Sotus and started My Tee (I dropped it because it was too confusing though) but I didn’t want to watch it without knowing what the whole PickRome fuss was about. I finally watched Puppy Love earlier this week and I immediately started Our Skyy. I was so surprised by this show and I didn’t think I would love it as much as I did. The only thing I didn’t really notice was the music, for the most part, so I wasn’t sure how to rate it.
Now I’ll review each episode individually and then do an overall rating!

Pickrome
I was not expecting the episode to be this creative! And sooo funny! Wow, such an amazing start. I wonder how the others are going to surpass this one. I was glad I had watched Puppy Love because I went into this episode knowing their dynamic and personalities. I must say they are amazing actors. They really are. Off acting as Rome and Gun as Pick was EVERYTHING. And it was so so so so sweet. I was glad we got this sneak peek into their lives. And hopefully they’ll keep growing together and will understand each other better with time. The chemistry between them is simply amazing. Hopefully they’ll get to act together again in the future! And taynew hdjddicxixjs I screamed when we heard their voices!
Oh well, the plot, the acting, the feels. Everything was there. 9.5/10 for me.

InSun
This was the only couple out of the 5 that I didn’t really know so I didn’t feel nostalgic while watching the episode. It was really sweet and all that jazz but it didn’t make my heart race. But they do have good chemistry and for that I will rate this episode 7.5/10.

TeeMork
Okay, these two. I’m just SPEECHLESS with what I just watched. Honestly, I was not expecting to love this as much as I did. I liked Drake and Frank but My Tee’s plot was so weird that I had to drop it after episode 6. Now I’m thinking of giving it another chance because of how great this was!!! Their chemistry is soooooooooooo good. They are pretty good actors and you can see they’re very comfortable around each other. So so so so sweet, my heart was full of love. The music at the end. MY HEART CANT TAKE THIS. I didn’t think I would enjoy this episode more than PickRome’s but it was very close to surpassing that one. 9.5/10

PeteKao
I have to admit me, a TayNew trash, wanted to watch this show because of PeteKao. The actors and the characters have the same kind of relationship which I find very amusing. I was sad that we didn’t get to see this couple at its full potential in Kiss Me Again. So I was so so so happy when they announced Our Skyy! Even if it’s only one episode, I thought it was better than anything else they’ve ever done. Honestly. This episode was hilarious. The dead body scene had me laughing out loud for a whole five minutes. Their acting has improved, their outstanding chemistry was still there, the PLOT WAS ACTUALLY GOOD AND ENTERTAINING !!!! Of course there was a fight because we can’t leave the makeup artist alone to rest a bit, right? But even that I thought was well done. And even though this couple is probably the most aggressive out of the five, we still got sweet scenes. The fact that Pete knew all along what Kao was doing and still carried that sweet tangerine tree or whatever that was around melted me inside. The whole hold-hands-every-hour was- I have no words. I love these boys so much and I’m so proud of them! Hopefully we’ll get them see together again in the future. 9.5/10

KongpobArthit (or KongArth? I don’t know their ship name, I’m sorry)

Now, this couple for me was the biggest surprise. I watched SOTUS but I haven’t finished the season season (it’s on my on-hold list) and I couldn’t understand why this is so many people’s favorite bl series and couple. I liked the story and I liked them but that was it. They did not blow my mind and I didn’t feel that attached to them.
After watching this, I finally got it. I totally get it why this couple gets all the hype. They are literally so perfect for each other that I can’t even (re)write this review without feeling like I’m going to cry. These characters are such amazing people and the actors are PHENOMENAL actors. The breakup scene blew my mind. It really did. And as I said previously, I did not feel attached to this couple at all. But throughout the episode they were so cute to each other and so couple-like that I ended up crying my eyes out whenever Arthit cried (Arthit crying in the bathroom so that Kongpob wouldn’t see him... HEARTBREAKING). The breakup scene was so well acted that I wondered if I wasn’t seeing a breakup in real life. Krist really did impress me with his acting skills. I already liked Singto a lot so this episode only made me love him. But for Krist... I don’t know why I didn’t really care for him. It’s not like I disliked him but I just didn’t notice how amazing he is as an actor. I will now quote my own tweet: “After watching our skyy I finally understood why everyone loves krist so much. I’m sorry it took me all this time to realize how precious he is. His little laugh is everything. His pure heart. His cute little mouth. Arthit’s love for Kongpob.” Yep, I’m proud of this tweet. Finally fell for these two boys. Their chemistry is just insane. So so so so glad I watched this. I loved this episode so much that I can’t even rate it 10/10. It’s 14/10!

Overall

The plot for each episode was on point. Which surprised me considering the mess GMMTV’s plot lines usually are. I adored every single one of them in their own way. The acting was the best part for me. You can tell they’re all close off-cameras because their chemistry was overwhelming. Honestly, I was not expecting the acting to be this good for some of them. Each couple has its own dynamic and they portrayed it very well. I think these special episodes were probably better than 99% of their scenes in their own series. I was not expecting to love every couple but I did. Oh well, watch me love these boys for the rest of my life.

(HEART)

I knew this would be a favourite since episode 1. I don't know how to write this review because I finished watching the drama ten minutes ago, went downstairs to grab a cup of water and something to eat and now here I am, lying in bed, trying to organise my thoughts and feelings.
I guess I should start by explaining why I gave 10 stars to this drama and then I will //try// to describe what I'm feeling.

STORY: The whole concept of this series is just so good. Teenage years vs present. A lot happens in-between and one thing that I liked is that the viewers have to wait until the last episode to know what really happened. I don't want to include spoilers in this review but I just wanted to say that I KNEW IT WAS HIM I KNEW I KNEW I KNEW! Okay, sorry. The plot was so interesting and it was cool getting to watch the characters grow up and go through different things at different stages of their lives. There was one element in the story that I wasn't a big fan of though, but that didn't bother me that much since at the end everything gets resolved.
Every episode made me laugh out loud. Seriously, this is one of the funniest dramas I've ever watched. It was heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time and that's why I now it was good.

ACTING/CAST/CHARACTERS: I'm in love with Busan's dialect. I made everything even better. The cast did an amazing job bringing these characters to life. Every single one of them was likeable and I was rooting for everyone, which proves that a plot doesn't need to have a villain to be a good plot. Even though I was little bit taken aback by some of Shiwon's attitudes, as well as her parents and Sungjae's- and, of course, Taewon's- I still liked all of them, which doesn't happen that often to me because I get easily irritated by the main characters. Shiwon was a //little// too much for me sometimes because she really was a hardcore fan of H.O.T; I also fangirl about my favourite groups but I guess not that extent haha. But at the end of the day I was satisfied because everyone gets a development and is essential to the story. I just love them so much it makes me sad because I CANT DEAL WITH LOVE. Okay, it's late, I'm tired, let's move on. (Oh and the friendships are so well portrayed like... agh my heart can't deal.) (JUNHEE I LOVE YOU BABY)

MUSIC: I got into Sechskies last year because they're literally THE FUNNIEST PEOPLE. And I've always had a soft spot for Jiwon so I loved seeing him in this drama and I was surprised by the fact that he is a good actor- HakChan is sooooo funny, I love him. I didn't know that much about H.O.T but I ended up falling in love with them because of Shiwon. The music is very appropriated because the soundtrack includes lots of old songs of that time (90's) and I'm definitely going to be listening to every song for the next four months (: maybe forever (: long live the 90's!!

REWATCH VALUE: I watched the whole thing in like... 3 days? I'm not sure. I do want to watch it at least 5 more times before I die, thank you very much. I'm also paling on starting Reply 1994 soon and then 1988.

CONCLUSION: I don't know why but I'm feeling so... nostalgic? right now. I'm missing the 90's so much. Which is weird because I was born in 2001 lol! The equipments they used to communicate, to listen to music, the way fans came together... I really wish I was born in South Korea and was 17 in 1997. Fun fact: I remember not being sure if I wanted to watch this because in 2016, when I first started watching dramas, I would hear about it everywhere and it just annoyed me because I had a different idea in my head of what it was like but I'm so glad I decided to give it a chance. I knew right away I would end up writing a review on how much I loved this drama even if I was only 5 minutes into the first episode, It will always have a special place in my heart.

Uh... why is everyone giving this drama less than 6 stars?? The most helpful comment gave it 4 stars!! I’m truly shocked. Why did I like it this much when so many people hated it??

Well, I’ll try to write a coherent review that will explain why I really liked this drama despise its evident flaws (I am confused myself hahaha).

So, let’s start with the plot. Hm... how can I put this... there was SO MUCH MORE they could have done with it. A whole world was created and it felt like it was completely wasted. There were some plot holes that I noticed -and I usually don’t mind these things A LOT because I don’t really analyze every single plot line but I noticed them this time and it kind of bothered me. I wish we had more explanations like why did Habaek have access to his powers when Soah was in danger??
Although most people say the show was boring but I can’t completely agree. It was tremendously wasted, that’s for sure. But the occasional humor really made me laugh out loud. Being chased by a wild pig (ok I don’t now what it’s called), the drivers license scene, Habaek asking for money....... there were a lot of funny scenes, which I think not a lot of people have mentioned.
The ending was bittersweet because SooAh is going to die anyways and he will live forever as the king of the gods... I think the ending could have been a thousand times more interesting than that. The final scene didn’t even feel like the last scene because of how underwhelming it was. She could have ended up with the CEO for example! Or no one at all! Or Habaek could have really disappeared (even if I would have cried my eyes out for three hours and I would have never forgiven the writer).

Now it’s time for the characters! Let me get this out of my chest: my favorite character was the CEO. There, I said it. I always like the “good” characters and the fact that he went through all of that and still tried his best at being a human... The only times I cried were whenever his past was mentioned.
I didn’t like Moora’s character. Nor Bi Ryeom’s most of the time. Nor Ja Ya’s.
The acting was overall satisfactory but the main leads were somewhat disappointing. I do think they acted according to their characters but sometimes it really felt like they were acting. The smiling and the kissing were really good though!
I also think some of the secondary characters weren’t needed but oh well.

The music was great. It really fit the whole vibe of the show. Glass Bridge is a work of art. The whole OST is a masterpiece, to be honest.

Would I make myself go through the pain of rewatching a show whose plot is severely lacking? Yes, yes I would.

I decided to add this drama to my to watch list because of Nam JooHyuk but the rating and all the negative reviews made me not want to watch it without some mental preparation. One year later I finally picked it up and I was once again surprised by how much I enjoy unpopular dramas. I know I mentioned a lot of flaws and you may be wondering why the hell I gave this show 9 stars. Well, because I wanted to. I just feel like giving it 9 stars. I really like shows that are full of fantasy, I’ve noticed. I loved Goblin, and every show with similar traits pleases me (although this one is way inferior to Goblin, in my opinion). I really like the feeling it leaves me with when I finish it. It’s hard to describe but the feeling that there’s something more than what we see and know, that there is an ending to the suffering. So yeah, 9 stars it is!!

Let me say this, before anything else: this is, hands down, the best bl drama I've ever seen- and I've seen a few. I have rated bl dramas 10/10 stars before because, even if their quality wasn't great, FOR A BL it simply made me want to give it a 10. In this case, I gave it 9/10. Why is that? Didn't I just say it was my favorite BL of all time? Well, the thing is: I rated History 3:Trapped as I would rate a non-bl drama. As I would rate a high-budget Korean drama. Yes, my ratings differ when it comes to BL because I know the budget is often lower and the acting isn't as good (not always!!!!!) but I end up feeling all the feels and give it a high score. In this case, if I were to rate this as I would rate other BL shows, I would give this one 11/10, which isn't possible. So yeah, 9 stars to me is very high.

This was the first time I watched any of the History series and I'm so grateful that it was such a good start. The best point of the show is the plot, which is SO rare, specially in BL land. I was intrigued, everything made sense (although still very fictional), I was at the edge of my seat. every. single. episode. It had the right amount of drama, action, romance and comedy. Very well done indeed.

The character development was great as well. I enjoyed every little story besides the main couple. The pairings.. I just really liked them! The acting, I must admit, didn't always convince me for some of the characters. My favorites were Tang Yi (Chris Wu) and Chen Wen Hao (Chia Kuei Chen). Their chemistry whenever they acted together was really good as well. I cried quite a lot at the end. To me, Jake's facial and body expressions weren't great. I know Shao Fei's character is like that but... I felt like something was lacking. Thankfully, by the end of the series, I warmed up to him. Jack and Li An didn't have he best performances. But their story was so cute and their characters so fluffy... hopefully we will see them grow from now on. Another actor that didn't sell it for me was the police chief. Weird expressions, weird acting... I don't know. But I really enjoyed his scene with his daughter. I felt true emotion rather than just.............. weird facial expressions.
The chemistry between the couples was amazing. Specially our main couple. So so so cute. Hot scenes everywhere and I'm certainly not complaining.

The music was really good, actually. I really enjoyed the opening theme.

I already know the plot so rewatching it could be a bit boring but it's also short so why not? Maybe when I run out of things to watch and nostalgie hits.

In conclusion, watch it. That's all I can say. I'm quite skeptical though because I dont think ill ever watch a bl as good as this one in the near future. Honestly, I'm so happy I decided to watch it. I don't even remember why I did but I'm really thankful. The BL world just gained a beautiful gem.
