I see a pattern here: bad episode paired with a decent episode
I barely made it through this episode because it only got interesting towards the end with some action. I quite liked the action though.I still hate the way they're treating Van. I feel really strongly towards this because his past is literally tragic. He didn't chose this life, he was just a child. And now he has to stay helping others cause no else can fight the lust-demons.I know he ____ the FL? And that's a valid reason for not fully trusting him but I suspect he was possessed when that happened and sadly only came to his senses afterwards. Let's see what happens next.Mi-ho might finally become who she's meant to be in the next episode. I hope she's not annoying.
Van is the only character that I've connected with so far. I felt empathy for his past and enjoyed his dialogue & action scenes. However, I dislike both priests with their unjustified hostility towards Van. What happened in the past wasn't his fault (imo). I think they require more character development. Also WTF was up with Mi-ho's lack of effort to help a student in need. Her decision to not help the poor girl made no sense. I was angry at her.Out of all the characters, so far, I only like Van, grandma, and her granddaughter. Even Benjulle is more likeable than the rest.I will continue watching because it's currently airing, but I don't think it's compelling enough to be considered a "bingeworthy" show for future viewers. I hope they will deliver on the high expectations soon.
Episode 2: It's a good thing that 2 episodes are available to watch back to back. 2nd episode is the one that made me care for this show. A little backstory and development instead of just action. The concept is right up my alley: supernatural, demons, anxient + modern. I hope it gives The Guest (my all time favorite). I'm so looking forward to watching this show!!
They went too hard on the action, which was good but I'd care for it more if I connected with the story and characters first.Episode 1: didn't click. Not *it* by kdrama standards that gets you hooked from the very first episode. Cha Eun Woo, omg!! It's my first time watching him in a drama and I couldn't stop smiling everytime he came on screen. He's so gorgeous! Kim Nam Gil, 1 of my fav actors! I was not expecting him to look this good as a demon slayer lol. Loved his character so far!!P.s. the color-grading and visuals are IT ?
