Sweet, digestible and heart-pounding! Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed this drama from start to finish! The thing that I liked the best and stood out to me the most was how great the writing was! I was surprised how much they fit into 25 minute episodes without it feeling rushed - wonderfully paced. Adding to how great the writing was, these characters were actually CONSISTENT throughout (except one minor side character in my opinion, but that didn't really impact anything), and there were no weird unrealistic communication issues (I've found to be common in j-dramas particularly) or dumb overreactions.

The acting was good - Matsui Airi in particular did a fantastic job at her 'kawaii azatoi' character, and again, she was written really well. The side actors all did a great job - the only thing that sticks out to me as not great was Itagaki Mizuki, but I think this may have been how he was directed to act in some scenes. He does a great job 90% of the time, but occasionally he acts a bit differently in a way that feels forced, which I'm guessing is because he was directed to do that particular thing.
The chemistry between the leads is absolutely fantastic.

The music in this was inoffensive. Not jaw-dropping but it isn't something that stuck out, which I think more than suits this drama, hence my rating.

If you watch this all in one sitting, it may feel like it goes a bit quick, but when you think about how this was aired to be seen once a week, they paced it perfectly.

I would've loved to have seen a bit more of their back story, but maybe we'll see that in a second season?

A feel-good, heartwarming, refreshing rom-com. Watch this drama to let go and relax!

Can't fault it at all!

This special has absolutely no faults at all! I loved it. The story is pretty interesting and it's not too long or too short. It was light and entertaining. The acting from all the cast was great, ESPECIALLY Honda Tsubasa. I had only ever seen her in 'Pretty Proofreader' and I was pleasantly surprised to see her in a totally different character doing a great job. Machida was great and the others did a good job too.

Whilst I'd love to see a follow-up to what happens, this totally suits being a stand-alone special epsiode, which I think just adds to how good this is.

Additional note, the music was great and fit with everything seamlessly. That's when you know it's great music for a show, right?

Highly, highly recommend! Light and entertaining :)

Super cute romance! With a rushed last episode...

I thoroughly enjoyed this drama. I started watching this in the last few weeks of it airing, and while I was waiting for the new episodes to come out, I'd rewatch earlier episodes multiple times because I liked it that much!

Apart from Kubota Sayu (Hori), the acting was really great all-round. Suzuka Ouji (Miyamura) did a really good job at playing his character - he became such a sympathetic character. All the sides did a great job. Kubota wasn't particularly bad, just not particularly good - in comparison to Suzuka, not very natural. But the romance and chemistry between them is awesome, and is definitely the highlight of the drama! I would've loved to see more of their relationship, and the side plots were all really interesting, would've been nice if they were explored more too.

The main fault with this drama is basically the last episode. I felt like a lot of side plots/conflicts were opened up in the sixth episode especially, but then they weren't really tied up by the final episode. Perhaps the writers tried to tie up some of these things in the sixth episode but they just weren't clear enough about it, hence it didn't feel finished. The next fault with the last episode was the classic unrealistic misunderstanding/communication issues that seem to be common in j-dramas - the whole series didn't have this, and it felt so natural and refreshing, but then this was basically the premise, out of nowhere, for the last episode.

BUT, I still DEFINITELY recommend this! I was a bit disappointed by the last episode, but I can definitely see myself rewatching the rest of the series again. It's pretty easy to think of the last episode as just a writing mishap and not really consider it canon.
I can't imagine a second season with the way they ended it but if they did I would be beside myself!
