This movie is better than the ratings give it credit for. I think it gets lower ratings because it isn't super predictable. But I liked this movie because it wasn't a predictable plot. I really had no idea where the ending was headed until the last 5 minutes. This film isn't a tear-jerker nor is it super funny. It is a film that shows how people's feeling change and how not to give up on someone just because they treated you or someone you are close to badly. Everybody regrets.
I thought the actors did a good job. Especially Ou Hao, who played Zhang Yang. I am going to look up more of his roles. He was good at showing the character development.
Its a bittersweet story and you should give it a try.

This movie was incredible. I came to find it through a post online, that stated it was the top earning Japanese film this year (2014). I am from the United States and this is the first time I have seen a film from the Japanese side of World War II produced from Japan. (It isn't like "Letters to Iwo Jima" it was actually made by and directed by Japanese citizens.)
This movie goes in and out of the past and present. I loved this aspect of the story because in this film we get to see the perspective of how the current Japanese generations perceive Kamikaze fighters today. Before I watched this movie I, like many foreigners could not understand the way Japanese pilots during that time could do that- purposely fly into a carrier. Although this movie is mostly fictional, I come away from it feeling like I learned so much. I can't explain what I learned, but when you watch this movie you will understand.
I liked this film because the acting was superb. I read that casting was done on who would play characters best and not on popularity. The characters made me cry more than once, and I cry rarely during films.
Music was lacking but was suitable for the parts I even noticed it.
I would like to rewatch this movie with my family. My younger brother loves war movies & I feel this film will really alter his opinions on Japanese soldiers during the War.
YOU REALLY SHOULD WATCH IT! BEST MOVIE ABOUT WORLD WAR 2 I HAVE EVER SEEN.
*oh and if you are someone who doesn't like gory scenes, this isn't too terribly graphic. Lots of explosions though.

I really found this Thai movie funny and enjoyable. It is more centered around friendship than romance, so if you are looking for a romance movie this isn't what you are looking for (but put in you plan to watch list anyway). I found myself laughing often at this movie, especially during band performances. The leads' friends are hilarious and are great supporting characters. The music is great and I'm going to look up some of the bands mentioned throughout the film. This movie "suckseeded" in my opinion! Haha.

I decided to watch this over a year ago but it took me this long to find it with subtitles. I originally wanted to watch it because I love the movie "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and this movie has the same actress Baifern. While this movie wasn't as touching, the music was really good. I always enjoy Thai alternative rock and this movie has a lot with all the main characters playing instruments. The acting was good, but sometimes a bit over the top. Still I think they all portrayed their characters well. I probably would rewatch this again for the music and for the fun 90s vibe. Its a good movie for a lazy evening and isn't totally predictable (or at least I didn't know how it would end).

This mini drama is about a female student (Youngji) who literally signs away her ability to date, so she has an excuse to hang out with her crush- the president of the Alchemist Club. The Alchemist Club believes that dating is useless and that you can only succeed in the corporate world if you don't date and focus on your studies.
This drama is a perfect way to spend 4 hours in cute cheesy fluffiness.
Youngji plays a really cute and funny female lead. Her character is really determined and a bit desperate in a hilarious way. She really wants to find true love and doesn't care if the man she likes isn't interested in dating. She just wants to be around him.
There are great supporting characters in this drama, that at the end you are sad to see go. (Although I was happy to see the professor go---bore).
The music is really great. The drama mixes in a bunch of Kpop and English pop into every episode. I found myself discovering a few new great songs.
I honestly rewatch the last 3 episodes a lot. The middle of the drama can be a bit slow (although the episodes are only 15 minutes long), but it pays off in the end.

This movie is a really cute film. I enjoyed it a lot. It wasn't over dramatic and had a simple story to tell. The two leads bond over their desires to succeed in each of their own clubs: Ono in brass band and Daisuke in baseball. Both want to get to the finals, however each meets their own struggles along the way.
The actors were really good in this. They showed their character's passion and determination well. I also believe the supporting characters should be admired. This movie doesn't have complicated love triangles but rivals who look out for one another.
If you hate brass band music then this film isn't for you since it is pretty much the soundtrack.
The story wasn't rushed, but did leave some gaps I would have prefered filled.
Anyway...watch this if you are looking for a light story with minimal drama and lots to look forward to.

I watched this movie because I like Yamashita Tomohisa's acting a lot. In this he plays a english teacher with some emotional damage and begins tutoring a girl in his class who also has some emotional issues. The movie is really cute, to the point it is sometimes very very cheesy. But I loved the cheesiness. Although there is a 11 year age difference in the leads, they have good chemistry and the weirdness of a teacher and a student plot dissolves from your mind.

The story seems like a really normal romance by the synopsis, but really it is a fantasy with action scenes, comedy and confusion. I generally thought the story was a bit weird at first. There are various things in it that will really confuse you, but all things become clear by the end.
Basically this tells the story of Si Ying, who gets a job in a coffee shop because her crush goes there often. While working in the coffee shop she meets another guy named Ah Tou, who she thinks is a weirdo and pervert (because he is wearing a bikini, carrying around a cabbage and roller blading). Eventually the 2 become friends because of constantly meeting each other in different situations and being able to talk to one another freely.
I liked this movie because it was light-hearted and not one of those tear jerkers!
The cast did well and made the characters interesting. There were a few good ballads in the movie that made some scenes more emotional. I probably wouldn't watch it again because even after all the weirdness is explained, I prefer less quirky movies.
Watch if you want something light-hearted and fun, but keeps you guessing and waiting for the ending.

I watched this because I was looking for a fun romantic comedy to just chill out and watch. If you want a really dynamic love story this isn't for you. The main couple didn't really have much screen time together. Most of the scenes involved their families. I really liked the criminal parents, they were hilarious.
The plot was a good idea but there were many holes in the story and jumps in time. If some of these holes had been filled it would have made the movie better.
The actors were all good. I think that this film is mostly a comedy and the actors did make me laugh.
I don't think I will really watch this again. But it is fun for a lazy evening.

This film has 3 parts. Its starts as a slap-stick comedy, then turns into a crime/hero story and finishes with a melodrama romance... however all through out the film there are lots of inappropriate jokes. Honestly this movie was pretty entertaining and light-hearted. It kept me guessing and I didn't know where the plot was going but everything seemed to melt together in a nice way.
Story focuses on a college freshman named Cheer, who is a architecture major and who is focused on making a name for himself. Him and his roommates get into some trouble when the male dorm is to be torn down because "boys are disgusting and don't take care of their dorm." The boys decide to prove the girls are just as disgusting as them which creates a sort of "war" with the girls at the university. This and shady happenings with the college administration lead to more trouble.
Acting was good. I found all the characters funny but when they needed to be serious they played that part well too. The music was good and made the movie more funny in some parts and more dramatic in others. I probably would rewatch this movie if I needed a giggle. I gave it an 8 rating because I think it was a diverse story with many entertaining elements and good quality.
Watch if you need something fun or you have a low attention span. Since the movie has many different themes it keeps you awake.

This movie was filmed during a giant flood in Bangkok in 2011. I looked it up and the actual flood lasted 175 days, however people went about life and overcame it together. Just to see the way people were living during the flood by itself is a cool story, but here we have a full movie filmed.
This film is about 4 people meeting while volunteering for flood relief and changing each other's lives and others'. The movie was also not bad. I found it informative, funny, cute and light hearted.
I think the story was well told and casted. I always seem to love Thai movie's music. I guess if you hate indie rock music you might not like the music in the background. I think I would rewatch this movie less for the romantic story but more as a documentary of sorts because a flooded city of millions is fascinating and this movie displayed it in such an amazing way.

If you are looking for something extremely romantic, this isn't your film. This is a sweet story about two people who have had traumatic experiences in their past hinder their ability to move forward and how together, they help one another overcome those challenges.
I disliked the chemistry between the two leads. They didn't seem much like a couple, but more friends.
The side characters added some fun comic relief between more serious scenes.
The story but was predictable but light.
I probably wouldn't watch it again, but it really wasn't too bad at all.
