Brace yourselves
This has to be one of the most heart breaking episodes. All his close friends and nanny GONE. And to face the fact that his brothers were not anything but garbage. This is what he wanted to avoid and escape far away from court palace. The loyalty of his friends to protect him and the way his brother was seeking his distruction, the rain and gray day, it all sums up to a very sad long scene. Great performances, a lot of sadness indeed. Here we can see how the king is really just a clown. He is so darn scared, in the end he only cared about himself. Uncapable of being a good father for all his children, he now just shows what a big coward he is. Comming episodes will start closing this story, but this episode is truly sad among many other shows.

Unexpected TRAP
First I fall for the bosses and part timers. I mean I'm a Im Joo Hwan fan and he doesn't have many big shows all the time, so this was perfect. But later you get a warm feeling with the regular costumers and their interaction. And just like that you get to season 3, craving they have a season 4 in South America 😁😁😁😁This season had a very special spice, as many costumers were Japanese or descendant. When you know that there is always a bit of a friction between these two nations, interaction like this, makes you forget about past conflicts and has a spark of hope that, us new generation, can change much hate among nations.

Largo viaje, final feliz

Amazing photography and score music
This collab is just magic. Despite being just 6 episodes, it delivers a lot in the photography and perfect management of lights and shades. Every scene, specially those that have a lot of emotion, match the incredible score that was done for this one. Even the main song is beatiful. The acting of the main couple of course is on another level, they had good chemestry and were able to portray and carry us from joy to tears and then back to hope. Beautifully executed, this remains a big small gem of just 6 episodes. What's more, they gave us a happy ending full of forgiveness and hope. Was this review helpful to you?
Not quite there...
This one was suggested by a friend who is more into occidental movies. I had my fear as it looked more occidental than Korean. Director is canadian and yes, you can tell she's been living way longer in Canada than in Korea. So the movie is put toghether more like an american indie movie than a korean one.Story had potential, but it has many gaps and silences that are considered to be aesthetic in western indie movies. The long silence scenes with dull scenery do not add to this equation. Not even the soundtrack. I respect some japanese movies where they do sort of the same, but theirs are poetry somehow.
There is only one meaninful scene between main characters but it takes less than 5 minutes. I actually fall sleep before that as the pace was really slooooow. Oscar nominations? I'm way over the pedo academy awards.

Not your usual chocolate story
Sakaguchi Kentaro is one of my favorite J-actors so I had to watch this regardless how ludicrous the first episode seems. Overall it's a simple story where the main character is a little girl who lost her parents in a dubious terrorist attack. She is rescued by one of her father's assistants and from that moment they make a great due saving lives.Back in Japan, with a very peculiar team, they start saving lives for a big deal of money and CHOCOLATE. The small ritual they have before each operation is something you start to cherish until the end. Each episode also shows each member of the improvised team and what motivates them.
The reference to a k-drama during the whole story is also unexpected, as it reflects the impact that k-dramas have in Asia. Our main character loves one of those and get's some cool lines from the episodes she watches.
This was hard to watch for a long time, as the subtitles were not available for almost a year. I'm glad and thankful for the one who put it all together and later for those who keept on searching so that we can all enjoy this small charming story.

It will stick for a long time
I remember when Byeon Woo Seok and Kim Hye Yoon were giving small previews about this project and saying that we all were going to cherish it as they were doing it with lots of care. After we lost our most beloved villain, we were hoping this project could see light. So, the 16 episodes have gone by and we were never dissapointed. We were sad a couple of times but in the end we endured and were able to enjoy a great combination of a love story, family value, friends, suspense, laughs and all done in a correct way.The characters are all well developed and performed, the story is all in all complete and doesn't leave room for many speculations. The charming scenes were on time and the soundtrack is just amazing. I'm left wanting more of Eclipse and the leading singer "Sun Jae".
This one goes to the top not only for 2024, it is above the few dramas I rate 10.
