I don't know why people had such a problem with this show. It had a strong emotional pull that kept you engaged. The FL was confronted with a man that wronged everyone and a man that was wronged by everyone. Her devotion to the first man was out of ignorance. When realizing the wrong that was perpetuated on the other man and initiated by her own fiance the realization of who these two men really were rocked her reality. Yes, there was a bit of confusion at times, but it cleared up as revelations unfolded later. All three main leads were fabulous. The main lead's pure heart and love for justice drew her to face what she really wanted in a man.

Loved it! For all those itching for some romantic feels, this one has it! Wow! The swoon factor is there! For all you hard core feminists who hate this kind of "she's mine" possessive guy feelers, you will have your fill moaning and groaning about how awful it is. But for those of you who really enjoy a taste of sweet, romantic, old school love that sends a spring into your desire to see a man go all out crazy for a woman and his desire to protect her, then by all means, press play! I loved the sweet, pure hearted girl who has an innocence about her that is captivating. Deep down, many women would still love to be loved like that! (even though they don't want to admit it!). So it's refreshing to see them re-capture those primal instincts in this quirky, "mysterious" fun drama! A guilty pleasure indeed!

Story is about divorce!

I don't know why everyone is so upset about the story of cheaters. It says "marriage and divorce" right in the title! It is obviously a build up to the second season. Without a Season 2 it would be rated a 1 because there is no ending. I thought the acting was great. Each actor played his role well. Most women are blaming the men for cheating and justifying the women's behavior. But I see flaws on both sides. Especially the viper of the lawyer's wife. Wow. What a selfish, self centered biatch. And the self sacrificing professor's wife is just subtilty as self absorbed becoming a martyr for everyone and not truly giving what needs to be given in a marriage. If I was a man I would feel just like her husband. That really plays on a man's self respect. And the doctor's wife is rather conniving, putting on a show but having some deep issues with genuinely loving people. So I have been very interested to see how this all plays out. In this culture, where demeaning men and elevating women in spite of their self-righteous behavior is cool, I would expect the reaction to this show to be critical. We'll see. Perhaps we will all be surprised! I thoroughly enjoyed it, watching relationships crumble because a foundation of love and respect was never built on both sides in every marriage. Now the mistresses.... that is what is a mystery! Conniving or genuine? Can't wait for Season 2!

Beautifully written story focusing on a lonely woman caught up in affairs. Shown from her perspective as a woman with low self esteem and how she grew in confidence. it really drew out the emotions and your heart just went out to the woman! Rather than being judgmental over what she had done and the morality of it, it allows you to see things from her perspective. I loved her character because she wasn't a whiny crybaby, but a solid woman whose life was molded by certain events that robbed her of her confidence. Yet she learned how to fight for herself. This was dramatic in an emotional way and they did a good job portraying that. It was very moving! The discussions below do not justify the richness of this drama. By the way, it had a good ending!

A Classic Story

Just finished all three lakorns of this story. In fact I watched the 1999 and 2008 twice! The warmth, yet intensity of the story is why I called it a classic. You can watch it 30 years from now and it will still resonate. Each actor/actress brought their characters to life. You could feel and touch who they were. And the angst they produced was perfect: not too overly dramatic yet kept you wanting more, wanting to jump into the screen and be there with them. The romance was the kind you long for, to read about, to envision. The ML couldn't help himself desiring to touch, to feel, to be near the FL and it was heart fluttering. I think overall I like the 2008 version the best. But both ML in the 1999 and 2008 were dreamy and alluring. I liked the FL in the 1999 version the best, but the 2008 version was very good too. You can't find a story and the overall acting that brings such an intensity, purity and passion like these old dramas. Everything seems so cold today when they try and remake something. Either they put goofy sound effects in or turn situations more comical that takes away the love story and passion behind it. The 2016 version completely lost its warmth and intensity. I was very disappointed. I think in today's culture they are afraid of offending someone so they have to water everything down. You can't even find this kind of passionate love story in America or Britain anymore. So I am very thankful for Thai lakorns and other Asian dramas. They have taken off where America has left behind. For all of you romance lovers out there, give it a try. The 1999 version isn't the best quality but the story has survived! Wish someone could re-download it with good quality and English subs!

Relationships with fear !

I might have a different take on the two main leads....I think they are both dealing with fear and to be in that state, we are observing what happens! The FL, of course, after having been used and abused is heading into a toxic place that is hard to control for her. She has lost some self esteem and is trying to regain her footing. The ML I don't think is as much of a playboy as it is being portrayed so far. For whatever reason that hasn't been disclosed yet, he is non-committal. But now he has met his match! A girl that has captured his heart. Each person playing their part in this drama is amazing. And each relationship we are witnessing is bringing to surface their weaknesses. So let's see how it all unfolds. It sure has captivated my interest!

Intense Drama!

Wow. That was intense. it kept me captivated every episode. So many flawed people. Of course, it was over the top with nonsensical decisions and motivations, but that is the draw. If you love angst like I do, please immerse yourself in this. Definitely flooded in revenge. It had all the feels: hatred, spite, intense love, stupidity, but most of all passion. It was great to watch because it displayed real emotions. And the story was captivating. Watched it from beginning to end. No skips. The ML and FL were fantastic. The arrogant ML, the fearful but polite SML, the kind hearted FL, the insane SFL. But for some reason you could identify with them, or at least understand them. And the ending was perfect. Their love was sustained. I thought the writer of this drama did an excellent job with no fillers and ways to take up an episode. So have at it! If you love the revenge, passionate love, angry, cold ML and soft, kind hearted FL scenario, add this to your repertoire of dramas!

Adorable and Enchanting

What a delightful drama! Takes place in the 60's and definitely has that 60's vibe. Thai dramas can really present costumes and hair styles to fit the genre. The ladies were beautiful and the men were delightful to watch. I thought I would begin getting bored after the middle episodes, but each episode kept me engaged with curious progression. There was a pure heartedness about it and a more intelligent and engaging plot. Incorporating fairy tales within the story made it enchanting. And all of the actors were perfect for their roles. I will definitely re-watch it again when I am in the mood for a "Wanida" style lakorn. Wish there were more of these kinds of dramas!

SWOON WORTHY OVERLOAD

Thank you Japan for bringing us yet another palpitating romance that is funny, romantic and titillating! I love these dramas that compete with some of these BL shows that put on some serious swoon worthy material. Us heteros need that too! All of these dry romances that are afraid to go further than a peck on the lips and that's supposed to get us excited, while all of the heart stopping romances lie in the BL category. Did you notice that? The ML and FL are perfect for their roles. Japan is so good at their short, pithy way of characterizing without losing the value of the story. And this is yet another romantic comedy that has a mood to it like bubbly champagne! So jump in and enjoy!

Hot stuff!

A surprising, endearing show! Was not expecting such heart to be displayed! Had the usual Lakorn tropes, but the ML and the FL were so darn cute together! And the respect he showed her did not denigrate the age difference. This is what I love about Lakorns. Say what you will about the exaggerated story lines that would never really happen in real life, they can sure pull out some heart where you get emotionally invested. And the side characters were easy to watch too. The FL was perfect for her part and the ML was HOT!! Kind of like a hard ass yet boyishly starving for love. It has become one of my favorite lakorns that I have watched now. Even though the "stares" were rather lengthy (maybe that's why some say the acting wasn't good). But I think the acting was great, it was the director who drew out the lengthy stares in the scenes. But after a while you didn't even mind because there was an emotional pull with them. And a great ending! Of course, everyone would have really liked to see them kiss, but I think because of the age difference they respectfully removed that.

No brainer but steamy!!!

Actually, this was as much fun as Coffee and Vanilla. If you like that kind of vibe that is just plain steamy with a story to go around it, then delight yourself in this one! I liked the two main characters. The FL played the naïve but intelligent girl really well, and of course our ML was to drool over. So no complaints! I thought their acting was great! If you are looking to critique an involved, complex storyline, you won't be able to find a trace of that. So why even criticize it? Sometimes we just need a getaway. It's funny, this is one show that I waited for each episode to come out! And I am a "Story of Yanxi Palace" kind of mystery and intrigue complex story watcher! There was just something about it that was fun to watch! Great ending too! Enjoy! It's funny all those edits criticizing the submissive, innocent girl types, yet those bottom bitches submitting and being all naïve in the BL shows they drool over. Hmmmm...

Excellent Remake!

I loved all of the remakes of this story, but this one had the emotional draw that captivated me throughout without being contrived. So many negative comments that were so shallow. Dramas are becoming fast food these days and people just want to get through to the ending! This remake had the emotional elements that helped you see what the two main characters went through in their hearts. The protagonists weren't dragged out for endless episodes. And I thought the ending was sweet and complete. Anna got her due! And parts of the battle that kept them apart, what I thought would be agonizing (because I read some negative reviews!) were actually really enjoyable. A very happy ending! If you love this particular story, you will love this remake! It added things that the other dramas missed.

This was an enjoyable romcom with a quirky story. The main leads were so engaging together. The Chinese are definitely catching up to other Asian shows where they actually display affection towards each other. That's what makes it so engaging. I'm not sure why kissing is so difficult to portray, but this show has it all. And the second leads were so cute. All the complaining about the plot twist. Sheesh! It's a fictional story for us to enjoy! The title certainly explains it all, "well intended love!" Oh, and by the way, happy ending indeed! Loved it!

Relationship Through Words

This was a wonderful story that put into words what the heart wants to say. The dialogues were beautiful. So many times I thought to myself, "that was a really neat way to describe that." That was the essence of this drama. The challenging part, and maybe I just don't know the Korean culture very well, but it was dry in light of physical affection. Are Koreans just like that in a relationship? There was passion that was missing in all three couples. Not passionate love making, but just things like grabbing each other, hugging each other spontaneously. They were all just too polite! Believe me, I am a Pride and Prejudice kind of lover. I love words. So it made up for it. But I can understand the critics in their reviews because it seemed we all wanted more. The stand off between a man and a woman and the lack of understanding where each is coming from was greatly depicted. That's what made it a success. So it was worth watching, but once again, being an American, I like passionate displays of affection. Spooning in bed displays more passion than facing each other with an arm politely resting over the other. It seemed contrived. So that's why I couldn't bring it to a 10. But it was enjoyable and worthy of a watch!
