Emotionally heavy watch but worth it
A great drama that was so full of heart and raw moments. More toward the slice-of-life genre in that there is no real big overarching storyline but then each episode can stand on its own with different cameos that bring life to the drama. Something like hospital playlist but about emergency rescue service people....
The acting was SOOOOO good and natural. Cried along with the characters in their pain and struggles ... everyone has a backstory and a reason for why they act in a certain way.
The storyline was well-written in that it covered a lot of societal issues such as the bureaucratic barriers, lack of funding, mistrust of the public as well as the emotional turmoil that firefighters face. The way they tackled the topics of PTSD as well as burnout and sexual discrimination were sensitive and appropriate. The story itself though is a little depressing and emotionally draining as they take audiences along for the very real struggles that the characters face from never-ending calls, to REALLY frustrating laws and bills that do not protect the well-being of the firefighters, to guilt stemming from failing to save a life etc... though the drama does try to balance it out with some bromance among the coworkers.
The music score was really well done in that every scene matched the background music and the opening song has been added to my repeat playlist on Spotify...
Would recommend everyone to watch this if you are in the right mood for it!! Cant wait to watch S2
