Not bad
I am quite surprised how this movie made me feel. The cinematography is not the best but it’s definitely one of the better Filipino ones. While the plot isn’t that unique and the presence of typical Filipino cliches (overbearing mom in the beginning and then apologetic in the end) is somewhat annoying, the actors made up for it. I’m no fan of Filipino dramas/movies, they are longggg and all seemingly have the same theme (rich vs poor) over and over again, plus the unnatural and cringey acting of some makes them so hard to watch. The ML and FL here are surprisingly different. Julia Barretto’s acting skills have improved, more natural, and since this is my first time watching Gerald Anderson act I say that he is actually good. These two were not overacting (well Julia in some scenes but I chose to ignore) and they actually have chemistry that is fun to watch. My hubby actually watched with me and romantic movies are typically a no-no for him, ha!
Good job director, hope to see more of your work!
