Cute and sweet, but also confusing?
I started off watching this drama expecting more to the story. I've heard that this drama is based on a Thai novel called Oh My Boss and that it's supposed to be sort of explicit, and I didn't feel like I got that vibe at all. That being said, it is quite cute when it has to be, sometimes super cringy (which is I guess cute if that's what you like), but I felt like... The storyline was confusing. Not sure why exactly. Just didn't feel like the storyline made sense. There's no built up tension, like typically in dramas it goes from either being good or bad, and then it gets worse, but then it'll get better towards the end. This one, one day it's all good and everything is all resolved, next day, everything is just terrible again, and then they resolve it in a second like it's not a big deal and go into honeymoon phase again, and then all over again. It just didn't feel like I had much to look forward to or any drama/problems to anticipate because everything was just so easily resolved and there's no major built-up tension. The actors were alright. The ML, Luke, he's far from great in acting, but considering how this is his first real drama, I don't mind it too much. I've watched his other dramas (which were filmed after Oh My Boss) and he was better and see potential in him, so I think it's fine. But just based on this drama alone, he didn't feel too exciting to watch because he lacked emotions (Or is it just his character, I don't know)
The FL, Mook, was not bad, but not amazing. She's a bit bland and not too exciting to watch. But I think she did fit the character very well.
I think I wanna applaud the villains. Knomjean and Foei were really fun to watch, they really acted out their characters amazingly, and I truly enjoyed watching them.
The production itself was... Interesting. It seems like they had 2 different directors throughout filming, not sure why they changed, but this makes me think that the scenes look very strange and different from one to another. It didn't feel "connected" as it should. The quality in some scenes were just awful, but some were also great.
Overall, I don't regret watching it, but I would probably never watch it again. It's good to watch to just kill time with, but that's about that. Not a story you should take too seriously or read too much into, it's not super exciting, but the cast is beautiful to look at for sure.
I'm looking forward to see the leads in other dramas because I think despite the outcome of this drama, their lack of experience, maybe issues with production, etc, might have caused the drama to turn out the way it did, and I'm still looking forward to see what they have to offer.
