Derailment: A Refreshing Plot That Goes Off Track

It's one of those series that you can't decide whether to watch just by reading the reviews because different viewers have different impressions of it. People either really liked this drama or really hated it. So, I would recommend to anyone who is considering watching the series but can't decide whom to believe: just give it a try. Watch the first few episodes. It is worth giving it a shot.

I don't want to say that it was perfect, but it definitely wasn't as bad as I thought it would be based on all the negative reviews I saw here. It was really refreshing to see a plot combining romance and sci-fi. The first 15-18 episodes were absolutely great. I would rewatch it up until episode 18, probably, because after that, it got dragged down by unnecessary storylines. The main element that kept the suspense until the end wasn't as satisfactory for me. But because most of the episodes were great and it hooked me enough to binge-watch the whole series, I want to give it 8/10 for the plot.

I think the writers couldn't build a strong connection between the characters and the viewers. Certain scenes made me feel like the acting was unnatural, but I guess it could be due to poor writing or maybe directing. There were still some things I couldn't understand even after completing the series, but whatever. I'm just happy that the main leads got their happy ending.
