Chemistry so good you can feel it through the screen

I originally only watched this drama because my name is in the title and I’m a big fan of Fah’s acting, but I ended up liking this way more than I thought I would.

The drama starts out well but gets kinda draggy towards the end. However I didn’t mind all that too much since the great acting from the entire cast and the amazing chemistry between Joss and Fah really helped make this drama more enjoyable.

I haven’t watched a lot of slap & kiss lakorns but this is the nicest male lead I have encountered in a slap & kiss so far. While there were a couple of forced kisses and he did slut shame her a few times, he was still really nice (for a slap & kiss).

I wouldn’t recommend watching this for the mystery, since we find out who the bad guy is pretty early on, and are left watching all the characters try to figure it out. Instead, watch it for the romance and acting.

Also don’t worry about the title, it’s not a step-sibling romance (I put off watching this drama for so long because I thought it was). I personally think the alternative title “Nabi, I will not love you” suits the drama better.

Favorite u-prince series

If you’re looking for a cute, short, cohabitation drama, then look no further, this drama is for you.

This might be an unpopular opinion but U-prince: the badass baker is definitely my favorite part in the u-prince series.

This drama in my opinion was easier and faster to get through than most of the other u-prince series. That might have something to do with Victor and Piglet’s amazing chemistry. They actually met for the first time while filming this drama and have been dating ever since.

Almost unbearable to watch

I have watched all the u-prince series and this is by far the worst one. I must say I was extremely surprised to see how high the avg rating on this drama is.

While, yes, the drama has some cute and fluffy scenes, the romance itself felt more like puppy love than anything. You can not convince me these two did not get bored of each other and break up like a month after the show ended.

The characters were both extremely childish and acted like they were in middle school. The female lead, except for being immature, is also not a very good person and I liked how the drama didn’t try to paint her behavior as normal. Because the leads are so childish there were quite a few cringe scenes but that’s not what made it unbearable to watch.

The acting is meh at best and the chemistry between the leads is practically non existent.

Could’ve been great…

I watched this drama because I really like secret child but I wouldn’t recommend watching this for the secret child trope as the drama barely focuses on that.

The acting and chemistry between the leads was really good and I feel like this drama had potential to be great but unfortunately it fell short for me. Hopefully I’ll enjoy the 2021 version a bit more.

The reason I gave this drama such a low rating was for the very reason a lot of people liked it: it was very fast paced. Everything just felt really rushed to me. In the last few minutes of the very last episode everything was revealed and resolved just like that. There were no real consequences for anyone’s actions. Everything was just forgiven and forgotten, water under the bridge. I had hoped for a better redemption arc, not for the male lead but for the male lead’s father. The lack of a better redemption arc unfortunately also made the entire drama feel like pretty much a waste of time. I am also not a very big fan of rape between the main leads but since I knew there was rape in this before I started watching it I didn’t let it affect my enjoyment or rating that much.
