Deeply Engaging Story, sizzling chemistry between Lusi and Anyu and Wowza! Special Effects!

I am addicted to this show. On days it is not telecast, I watch reruns of the episodes or youtube clips of spoilers.
I started with a noncommitted approach but by the end of Episode 2- I was hooked - line and sinker.
This Chinese drama is an epic rollercoaster ride filled with mind-bending mysteries and heart-melting romance that will have you hooked.
The storyline is straight out of the cosmic universe, blending ancient legends with futuristic vibes that will leave you saying, "Whoa, that was lit!" 🔥 Imagine a world where immortality is within reach, but at what cost? "The Last Immortal" delves deep into this concept, offering a fresh twist on the age-old quest for eternal life.
The characters in this show are like squad goals incarnate. Gu Jin played by the ridiculously talented Wang Anyu brings a boyish charm to his character. You'll find yourself shipping Feng Yin / A Yin ( a brilliant Zhao Lusi) with both the leads (no spoilers here!), and trust me, the chemistry between them is off the charts!
Now, let's talk about the visuals. The cinematography in "The Last Immortal" is straight-up dope! 📸 From breathtaking landscapes to stunning CGI effects, every frame is Instagram-worthy. You'll want to screenshot every scene and set it as your wallpaper, no cap! 📸🌟.
And the soundtrack? Major bops all around! 🎶 The music choices in this drama perfectly capture the feels of each moment, whether it's an intense action sequence or a heartwarming romantic encounter. You'll definitely be adding these tracks to your playlist ASAP! 🎧🎵
But it's not just about the visuals and music; "The Last Immortal" tackles deep themes like love, sacrifice, and the pursuit of a higher purpose. That's some real woke content right there! 🤔💭
"The Last Immortal" is a must-watch for anyone who craves a thrilling blend of mystery, romance, and futuristic vibes.
Get ready to be shooketh, fam! 💯🍿 #TheLastImmortal

MY LETHAL MAN: TWO SIDES OF THE SAME COIN

My Lethal Man is a new Chinese drama following the story of Zhuang Xin Yan, the granddaughter of a rich and influential family, and Shen Man Ning, a local art student (both played by Li Mo Zhi). The drama begins with the story of twin roses. The two roses are identical, however when they encounter one another it results in one dying and the other beginning a new life. Similar to the story of the roses, Man Ning and Xin Yan quickly become entangled in an unexpected kidnapping case. However, Xin Yan dies in a car accident after she sacrifices herself to protect Man Ning.

When Man Ning wakes up in the hospital she learns of Xin Yan’s death, meets Yan Xing Cheng (played by Fan Zhi Xin), and is forced to become Xin Yan and Xing Cheng’s fiancé. Although Xing Cheng is cold and mysterious, he prepares Man Ning for her entry into the highly political and tense succession war of LH Star, Xin Yan’s family company. As the Xing Cheng and Man Ning work together and overcome the drama and difficulties in the Zhuang Mansion and LH Star, the two slowly grow closer and eventually learn to love and rely on each other. Additionally, they probe deeper into the unsolved, mysterious car accident that Xin Yan barely survived 17 years ago.

Thoughts

My Lethal Man is definitely not your typical Chinese drama. Although it follows the familiar theme of conglomerate succession, the series has a unique take on romance. Rather than having two characters fall for one another and take their time to establish a relationship, Man Ning and Xing Cheng are forced together as a couple and gradually grow closer.

Although Man Ning is initially portrayed as a weak and nervous character, she eventually becomes more confident and reassured as she attempts to become a legitimate Xin Yan and heir to LH Star. I also liked how she was willing to fight for her relationships. It was nice to see a Chinese drama break the stereotypical weak female lead who walks away from a relationship. Despite being strangers, Man Ning and Xing Cheng have great chemistry as they continue to grow closer with one. However, the connection between Xin Yan and Xing Cheng is definitely surprising and unexpected to say the least!

LUI TAO STARS IN A WOMAN CENTRIC STORY ON YOUKU'S "BE YOUR OWN LIGHT"

The first episode aired on Youku, takes us into the "perfect" life of He Huan ( Liu Tao)  with her impeccable husband and beautiful, accomplished son. She is the quintessential power woman who balances work and home and has all the "perfect" things her life can bring.

As it is the tenth anniversary of her wedding, she invites all her husband and her friends and colleagues over to a surprise party that she has organized for her husband.

But her husband never turns up. Instead, she welcomes home, in front of all the guests Jiang Jun Hao ( Liu Yu Ning), who is apparently a friend of her husband's that she did not know about. And the friend who her husband had borrowed millions from.

She discovers her husband had left with his passport, money and valuables - without a trace ( after having resigned from his job and paid two years of his old father's assisted living fee).

As her friend comes to her assistance, she refuses to believe that her husband might have been cheating on her with another woman.

Coming to grapple with the situation, He Huan realizes that the disappearance of her husband was meticulously planned and executed. Her visits to his office reveal some things that leave her questioning her own knowledge of her husband. Then the other creditors hit her. Apparently, the husband had dropped OIUs around town like hotcakes and now these people were coming for her.

At the end of the first episode, Jun Hao saves her from a possible kidnapping by some "friends" of her husband.

We cannot wait to see what the rest of the show unfolds. As Liu Tao shows go, we always look forward to her portrayal of modern women who leave no crumbs.

A must-watch on Youku
