LOVE IT!

I am absolutely in love with this drama oh my cat God! Because I started watching this at midnight, every episode I just keep internally screaming. Gosh all those butterflies in my stomach wouldn't go away. The FL and ML are just TOO CUTE! I would actually rewatch this again and again. I love this drama not just because of the cuteness of the cast, but also because of how much I relate medically to this. Those scenes with the patients, it keeps hitting home. As a nurse, this really motivated me to work hard again and relieved my motivation. This was so helpful for me as I wasn't sure with what I was doing with my life. I really commend the staff who worked hard to make this, as well as the actors and actresses. Kudos to everyone and thank you so much! Love how this is cardiology ward based, defo hits home hahaha. This is my first review on public here on MD - it speaks a lot on how much I love this drama.

P.S. UGH I LOVE YOU SATO TAKERU!!!!!!!!

ONE OF THE BEST YOUTH DRAMAS!!

SPOILER!!
I honestly don't know where to start. I may ramble my way through this too but honestly this was one of the best youth dramas I've ever seen. It made me look back during my high school and university life. The ups and downs. The good and bad. Liking someone, getting rejected, being together. Struggling with own course, thinking about the future, losing people along the way, separating from your closest friends, etc. Youth is all part of self-discovery. Growing up. Experiencing all these to enter the society.

The story was honestly so heart warming but obviously at times, I just cannot help but get annoyed. The parents were very supportive of them. I have never felt a character so relatable Xiaoju's struggle growing up as an eldest and having to give way and feeling as if no one has got your back to support you, - the neglect -I totally felt that. I felt like my own story was being shown in this drama. Of course, in the end her mother had supported her all the way through. I like how the Xia, Lu and Cheng family were so close knit that during the early episodes, they were already wanting Xiaoju to be their daugther in law haha. To also include, Xiaoju's brother is hella annoying like every younger brother, but you can see how much he cares for his sister.

The trio, the best friends. I love how their friendship transitioned all throughout. Actually, the five OG bffs (inc Letao and Baabao), I loved their lil friendship throughout high school. Helping each other win that competition, caring for each other. It was just amazing. I was actually so sad that since Baobao left at that time, he had never shown himself. I've always felt that Taotao and Baobao were extremely suited for each other. Imagine my sadness when she got on with Huangjun. Not to be biased but Taotao's relationship with Huangjun was so toxic. The things she had done for him only to be taken for granted. But tbh, this experience for Taotao was her turning point, she had grown into such a strong woman and I really commended her character. I love her friendship with and support for Xiaoju. I guess because Taotao was such a strong girl crush, I actually really fell in love with her character. P.S. oh gosh that vocal girl in the band pissed me off too much. Imagine my happiness when Baobao came back in the end and being revealed to be Taotao's groom. I already expected it to be honest, but I WAS HELLA HAPPY!!!! He looked handsome too.

I honestly think Chenglang's first love was Xiaoju. But then he saw Linyou dance haha. I really believed in their relationship. They were definitely cute together. But I guess just like in real life, sometimes when you're not meant to be, no matter how much you've liked each, you just won't be together. I was actually waiting that maybe in the end she will come back but when Xiaoju said she had gotten married, I felt quite hurt for Chenglang. This guy deserves to be happy. I just felt like he did not even get a closure nor a happiness he deserved in the end. Like fair, be single, but that scene when he saw Linyou with her foreign husband, I just felt sad for him.

I actually watched this drama because of Hu Yixuan (I had finished watching Unforgettable Love. Through her I had found this gem. She is indeed a wonderful and versatile actress and I commend her for that. But my biggest disappoint in this drama was he character. Fair enough she grew. Her character development was good but I felt like it just dragged and dragged and dragged to the point where it was only until the last episode that Shiyi had fully gotten happy. But through her character, it just shows reality too, we like a guy for a very long time only to see him become happy with someone else. Then you also get scared to ruin your friendship with the bestfriend you really care for. I was actually glad she had gotten that closure with Cheng Lang with that mango pudding thing too. I just wished she had given Shiyi a chance a bit earlier on. But I guess if she did that, the ending would've been different.

Lu Shiyi. Shiyi oh Shiyi. I wish I had someone like Lu Shiyi in my life. If I had someone like him, I would've fallen for him already. I wound't be so dull and blind like Xiaoju. The amount of things and great efforts that Shiyi had done for Xiaoju is immense. He was definitely ANNOYING at the beginning but the transitioning of his relationship with Xiaoju was so smooth. Like his character development was not abrupt. He didn't just suddenly change overnight and started being nice on her. It was so gradual and smooth. I love it. It may have started when she finally agreed to do the relay with them and they all got really close with each other. I honestly just wanted nothing but Shiyi's happiness, but it was just so frustrating for me to see him in pain and suffer all throughout the middle until the end. Sometimes it was unbearable. Something that is still stuck with me until this day was when he said that he was not bad too. The way Shiyi had said that, the acting, the voice, I felt my heart shatter to pieces. I felt his pain. You know an actor is doing an absolute amazing job when he is really into his character that his emotions are overflowing and you could feel whatever emotion he was feeling. And that is how I really fell in love with Lu Shiyi's character and also Richards Wang as an actor. I really really want to praise him. I wish he had been happier earlier on. I cannot reiterate how much I felt sorry for him and just wanted him to be happy.

The whole setting especially their hometown really brings be back to my own hometown. I love the OSTs too. That I like you song, the amount of times I've heard her try that part over and over again, sometimes I would just hear the song in my head randomly. Now it is one of my faves hahah. The producers did a great job choosing that song when Shiyi had proposed to her. I actually cried when they were finally together. I just wish I had seen them as a happy couple a bit longer. That's one of the it's a shame parts.

Overall I LOVE THIS DRAMA AND I WOULD DEFINITELY REWATCH IT AGAIN!!!! TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Fell in love with the female lead!!!

First of, plot is basically a strong-headed CEO and a warm-hearted Doctor. You would think at the start, how will this drama unfold with this cliche plot for 35 episodes? In other dramas, I would usually keep waiting for the story to unfold and would even have to skip parts because of the dragging. This drama is different. The story flowed. It started very strong with out FL being such a charismatic CEO. You don't expect to suddenly be quarter in the drama and suddenly things folded in a way that you might think, "oh, things are going great, but we're not even half way to the story yet" and then next thing you know, a plot twist happens when the antagonist comes in. You would think it will draaaag but no. For me, I like this. I hate when the antagonist part drags. Certain parts (like the antagonist part) come in to just turn the tables in order to give us a new meaning of the title. Again, in other dramas, sometimes the titles don't really match with the content of the drama. But this one, there are a lot of times you would think "ah, it begins again" but somehow in a different way compared to how they began again last time. I wish I could give as example but don't wanna spoil too much. I love how the production team paid attention to small details like the changing of the female lead's hair style and fashion. A new turning point to her life.

I almost forgot, one of the most important things in this drama is the reversal of roles. From charismatic female CEO to promoting ballerino, to what Ling Rui said to FL's dad "Actually, there are no rules to define to how women or men should act", and also when Tang Ping was being harassed and was told she was wearing a skirt that invites pervs and her answer to that I loved. This drama may be cliche in some areas but the role reversal and mentioning controversial society formed norms, you won't find this in some dramas.

Usually a drama just keeps dragging and sometimes I don't understand why they even need more than 16/24 episode. But this drama, I was questioning how else they're gonna move forward until ep 35. But half way it got interesting, and then that part when she had to leave came. It was quick, it only happened in one episode and so many things happened and then it dragged, but it was a good drag. They didn't drag on how long Ling Yue will know about the existence of YouYou. The chemistry between the ML and FL was there, I was quite shocked as time passed. I didn't really expect it since I didn't feel it as much at the start. Not to mention the sudden existence of YouYou. Things just got better. The story line is cliche like a lot of Chinese dramas, but what makes this different is the acting and delivery of emotions. Not to mention how funny some scenes are and the background sound effects.

Seriously, kudos to the production team for producing such a masterpiece. The choices of actors was brilliant. From FL/ML to supporting actors. The emotional scenes of the father and daughter; the stepmum and FL at the end; the scene of FL and her brother; the existence of YouYou; the separation of the FL &ML, how much crying and suffering - even how he can now hold his alcohol because of the amount of drinking he had to do to forget her; the hospital bed scene with YouYou and Ml while FL was fake sleeping and soooo many more. I cried so many times, it's so touching. These things may be cliche sometimes, but it reminds us of many emotions to feel. I realllllly would like to thank the writer for including YouYou in the later part of this drama. In other dramas, I always look forward to the couple having a kid at the end, but sometimes I get disappointed for not seeing it. This one, there was enough time to see them have a child and their interactions. But in all seriousness, YouYou is soooooooooo adorable!!!!!!!!! He really made this drama very worthwhile. He is so sensible and cute and funny. I suddenly have a baby fever again TT I also like the lil friendships that formed throughout the drama.

As already mentioned, I like the addition of background sound effects in certain parts that need highlighting of what kind of scene it is (e.g when things get sexayy haha). The music. Gosh! The OSTs are my type! I love them! It really makes a difference when a drama has a good OST.

In conclusion, I am verrrryyyy satisfied with the ending. It's been so long since I last saw such a satisfying ending that didn't feel dragged at all. Also, everyone had time of closure and screen time to finish off their story. I saw how the FL and ML grew not just professionally but also their affection towards each other. I probably have so much more to say that I have forgotten but I TOTALLY RECOMMEND THIS DRAMA! Very worthwhile TT

P.S. usually I skip parts when watching a drama in order to get the parts I would like to see, but this one, I barely skipped parts. I am currently having post-drama depression and will have to search for behind the scenes. Would like to thank the production team and the actors/actresses for making this drama happen. Kudos to them.

If I get bored again, I will watch this drama again. Highly would rewatch!

Sorry for the messy review, I keep remembering things haha

The chemistry is so natural - just gotta sit through!

The FL and ML's chemistry is undeniably strong. During their scenes, I feel like I'm just watching something in real life because of how natural they are with each other. Of course at the beginning of the series and beginning of their relationship they are awkward with each other especially being each other's first love, which I think is really nice because it really depicts how it is usually when you first start liking someone and being their other half. Throughout their relationship, they got comfortable with each other and their bickering was my favourite. Seriously. It felt so real and natural. They really are like a quarrelsome lovers, but yet so cute. Because of this, I actually really started shipping them two and would be nice if they really dated in real life. The relationship didn't these stupid misunderstandings and I love how at one point they weren't happy with something and have improved themselves and shared what they are feeling. I feel like because of this, they didn't have those annoying misunderstandings. The part with the childhood friend's arrival, no matter how pissed I am at those sisters, I watched through because of how good and strong Mi Ka's character is, like I'm sure it annoyed her, but I love her professional she was and how she handled things and not letting what they said get to her. Just like Mi Ka, I like how Ke Lei had handled in too (most of the time). Like he was aware that it could upset Mi Ka and he still was careful. Honestly liked the ending, but I wish I got to see their wedding, calling each other husband and wife and having kids. I honestly would have loved loved it. Also love how there was no unnecessary love triangles.

The second FL and ML had the loooooooongest chasing. Xiao Xia's personality is really to be commended. Like wow how she chased Wenbo but just like everyone else, she got tired too. But that's when Wenbo also got his shit together. I really just wanna mention how much of a blockhead he is. It's cute at times but oh my days, he would need some serious teaching haha but in the end, he managed to pull his shit together.

I would like to write a separate paragraph for Xing Ke Yao. At the start when she first came out, I had this feeling that she would be such a bitchy sister and would cause unnecessary drama to the FL and ML. But how she dealt a lot of situations, especially when those two sisters came into the picture, I was at the top of the world. She is so badass honestly! Her strong personality and how she just quickly handled those two, I was waiting for it to come. I love whenever Ke Lei turns to his sister and they would discuss his situations, I love whenever she just listens to him like an amazing sister she is.

About the story, of course I've seen DOTS, but I was particularly drawn into this because I feel like it would bring me something strong in terms of their professions but also lighter when it comes to their drama. I have not seen a particular SWAT drama before and I was really curious about it and I'm glad I watched this. With both their professions having different types of work times, you can see how difficult it is to be together, especially the many times their dates got cancelled because of Ke Lei's missions. Mi Ka's patience, understanding and love for him I feel is what really made her stay no matter how difficult it is. I like that there's a good balance of medical and SWAT missions in this drama. Got to taste best of both worlds. I salute these healthcare professionals and the police force for protecting the populations. Honestly, it's not easy. Just wanted to say though, since it's also a medical drama and I'm sure they consult with a medical professional, I hope they improve on one thing, the rhythms lol. It really cracks me up whenever they have an emergency and they're like "there's heartbeat" and they show the oxygen saturation line s the "heartbeat" instead of the actual heart beat line. It did not only happen once but every time.

As for the OST, I didn't really pay attention to it much especially I skip the start and ending songs. But at one point of the series, they were playing the ending song, I really felt it in my heart. It's honestly one of my faves now. The other songs are good too.

One last thing and a big spoiler, when in the final ep, I had a feeling Ke Lei would propose again will have some sort of stunt to propose, and this may sound so cliche but when he finally said "Will you marry me", I felt my such goosebumps. To top that up, when Mi Ka answered "yes", I felt another set of goosebumps. It's unreal. i am glad to have watched this drama. I also felt like I know a lil bit more about SWAT too. Kudos to the team and actors!
