very slow for a drama with such short episodes

Initially, I thought that the drama would be rather fast paced considering the fact that it only has 22 episodes. Yet, the pacing was sooooo slow, you only get to see them together towards the end of the show, with 5 episodes remaining. Their time together also didn’t make the wait worth it. There were many push and pull moments, and it was rather ridiculous when it was very obvious that they had feelings for each other. If they didn’t, then what they did would feel very uncomfortable when he had kissed her twice before they enter a relationship.

The ML’s character was annoying in the beginning, where he was the typical jerk who was kind of rude. However, just a few episodes in, you’ll actually notice that he was the sweetest one in the show. He’s kind, and always thanking the people who had helped him. I’m glad for his character development or I would have disliked his character. On the other hand, the FL’s character did not change throughout the show, and her character kind of annoys me.

To be honest, the casts lack chemistry. At a point in time, I actually want them to stop kissing because it doesn’t even give me the feels. Instead, it felt very unnecessary. Their love for each other doesn’t reach me too, it feels a bit superficial and just not the type of feeling I receive from seeing a couple.

Towards the end the show tries to rush every single thing in like 2 episodes? Where the annoying jerk, ML’s friend found his true love, and ML’s sister suddenly confesses to FL’s friend. Everything just felt so rushed and ridiculous when they could have paced it properly to add in all these couples from the start.

Overall, this is quite a disappointing drama after a long wait. As much as I like Zhao Yi Qin, I didn’t enjoy this drama. It may be good for people who doesn’t really care for plot and is just here for a slightly cute and funny drama. :)

two broken souls, unable to heal each other the correct way

major spoilers ahead, read at your own risk.

this drama just feels like a vicious cycle, even until the end. the synopsis mentioned that the characters will heal each other, but did they really?

for the first 8 eps, push & pull between the two leads, and it’s a bit hard to understand how the male lead just fell for the female lead at first sight and became so clingy, almost obsessed with the female lead (which he probably did become obsessed in the later episodes)

and then from ep 9-18, it’s a cycle of, he gets jealous — she gets angry about it — he apologises — she forgives — they make out — repeat … it feels like they just settle things with kisses, or violence. considering the fact that he uses violence as an outlet to handle his anger, i’m surprised that he isn’t suspended from school :/ also, his favourite line is, “i know i’m at fault, i’m sorry, i won’t do it anymore” yet, he does it again the next time they had an argument, there isn’t any progress in the plot at all.
also, this drama is full of villains, making me wonder if there is anyone who is decent at all in this drama. clingy ex-boyf, vengeful friend, vengeful ex-boyf’s manager, horrible mother. please, with this number of people who are constantly hurting others, how are they able to heal. the only person who is nice in the drama is probably their friends & the professors.

finally the last part of the drama, ep 19-24, they finally found out that he is actually sick and his mental health has been affected due to his upbringing. yet, it doesn’t seem as if the psychologist has helped him in anyway, he should really get proper therapy on it. the girl tried to heal him, but it obviously didn’t work bc up till the last episode, he still cried and thinks that she’s leaving him, and that she hates him bc of his illness??? then he went overseas to further his studies bc he wanted to be a good child to his mother, and then when he’s back after 3 years, he’s miraculously healed??? and isn’t he still stalkish is a way that he keeps checking up on her activities by coming back to her place and hide in the dark to see her.

idk man, all in all, i feel like the entire plot has issue, the synopsis is not a good representation of what goes on. i wished they had actually worked on his mental health, and showed us the progress, and not just tell us that he’s healed after 3 years but not knowing how it happened.

for the friends, it’s kind of regretful, but at least i learned something from ruoshen and xiaoyun. love can’t be forced. they both have different values and goals in life, which resulted in them going different ways in life. like cheng feng said, “you’re both not in the wrong, it’s just that you’re seeing the same thing in different perspectives” — guess that’s my biggest takeaway from this drama but well, at least cheng feng really did go through therapy and walked out of her trauma with the help of jiang dian…

i guess you can watch this drama if you’re here for the kisses, they literally kiss every single episode (i feel), which is cute in a way that the production team isn’t afraid of showing these scenes. but this is a show that i wouldn’t recommend if you’re here for the plot.

a realistic and cute youth drama

this drama is the first high school drama for me in a while, and it didn’t disappoint at all. this drama shows that you don’t have intimate scenes to feel love. there’s communication, protection, companionship and trust.

i love how they talked it out whenever there are misunderstandings and told each other almost everything. they’re best friends and they put so much trust in each other. whenever there are issues, they stayed by each other’s side and they helped each other to become the better version of themselves. Tong Xi learned that it’s okay to not have to act for others to like her, and Lin Nanyi eventually learned to stop avoiding a situation and to listen to his parents’ perspective. they’re also so supportive of each other, always encouraging each other throughout.

to be fair, i teared when he had to leave for the city. in life, don’t we all have that friend where we became distant with in the different phases in life as people come and go? it was clearly shown as Tong Xi said that it happened to her, but she put her faith in Nanyi, and believed that he would be back by her side in the future, and she was willing to wait despite how long it might take. and that’s so touching. it’s so obvious that he felt the same about her as he came back to take his papers and told her that they should aim for the same university so that they will never be apart again. and that’s so sweet, they’re both in love with each other, though they might not know what love truly is at their age.

similar to taozi and yiming, where they may have already had feelings for each other, yet the fine line of friendship and love makes it confusing for them. it’s cute for them to explore and learn their feelings when yiming tried dating jieping, yet he realised that he’s too used to having taozi around and he felt the most comfortable around taozi. at the same time, taozi felt uncomfortable without him around despite her complaining previously that he was always around her. it’s a case where absence makes the heart grow fonder.

despite Ni Waner being an annoying character, i could understand why she did that. she has craved attention and love which wasn’t given to her by her parents, yet the first time she ever felt concern was from nanyi, which is probably why she felt that it was love.

the plot is pretty realistic, where there are parents who force their own dreams on their kids, parents leaving their kids as they might not have been planned, a boy who treats a girl however they want to despite knowing her feelings for him, a boy not knowing that he has a crush on his friend and tried to date someone else, parents who are more biased to the son than the daughters (because apparently they’re more precious and can carry on the line of the family). the plot is also very well paced, it doesn’t feel rushed, nor does it felt like it was dragging out the episodes. there are also huge character developments for all the characters, which is something i really appreciate and like about this drama.

their acting was good considering that it’s their first main role, and they portrayed the characters well. the emotions of the character (e.g. when tong xi was tired of her mother pushing her dreams on her, and she finally talked back to her mum, standing up for herself, stating what she really wants).

the songs are also so good, enjoyed them as they were played at the different scenes.

overall, it’s really a nice and healing drama, i feel, and it’s a good drama which i would rewatch in the future. give it a try if you haven’t already :)

to add on, personally i would like it to have a second season, where we can see how their relationship and friendships develop. it would also be good to know what obstacles they’ll have in achieving their dreams.

also, random but their characters being a cancer & scorpio are just so cute, cos compatible signs ><

interesting initially but not towards the end

initially, it was interesting as they touched on a sensitive topic, autism. i’m not sure if i could take the show seriously about autism based on what was shown.

the initial plot was good, where they started with her fitting in into the company and some character development. but towards the end, it became quite anti-climatic and boring. it ended with a lot of question marks and felt quite absurd.

however, the actress, Park Eun Bin’s acting is really really good, the way she portrayed the character was amazing! i was able to relate to the character as she was affected by the words of others in regards to her love life… however, wondering if it was factual that people with autism would be that sensitive to the people around them as the character always say “i’m someone who lives in my own world and only think about myself” or something along the line.

overall, was a pretty good watch

Exciting storyline which keeps you wanting for more

Story
I truly enjoyed the story of this drama, as I do enjoy dramas of fantasy genre. The “evil spirits” have something that they cannot let go of, and most of the reasons portrayed are quite touching. Regrets of not having done something differently, resulting the loss of a loved one, or not wanting to let a loved one know about the truth, for the fear of losing him. The plot was captivating from the start to the end, though I think I would have liked it more should they have more cases and patients to help!

The love of the main couple taught me that love is love, despite the other party being of a different species (evil spirit), as long as you love with your entire heart, you’ll be happy and be able to overcome hardships together! Would like it if they showed Lin Xia being jealous when Tian Dao showed her Bai Qi’s future though. Would be cute hahaha. Can I also add that I am starting to hate plots where couples are separated for a period of time on the last episode and the ending just shows them coming back and kissing and THE END. Not cool or nice tbh, it happens to most fantasy drama and I hate it. It’s the same in My Girlfriend Is An Alien. Would prefer them ending the show after showing them having a happy life together as a couple!!! To me, the sadness felt by the party who was being left on earth wasn’t necessary.

Also!!! I loved the second couple! They were so adorable, but they kind of got together very suddenly hahaha would enjoyed it more if they were to date earlier, instead of getting together only at the end of the series. The friendship of the female lead and the second female lead was kind of abrupt, but I kind of understand it since the second female lead was in a bad place at that time and the female lead was a very kind person. But bao bao aka yang jian is so adorable and was such a good friend to Lin Xia ? He stayed by her side throughout, and helped her through sad times when they had to erase Bai Qi’s memory, definitely a friendship I would want to have! They should have showed more of the second couple, would make the show even better ?

Acting
Didn’t know any of the cast before, except Marcus Li and Ji Xiao Bing, but I have to compliment Bai Yu’s acting! I always find it amazing when an actor or actress manages to portray two different characters well and Bai Yu definitely did it! You can note the difference between the two personalities of the male lead and I think it’s mainly because it was acted out so well. I personally enjoyed Hei Qi’s character since he is someone who puts his heart on his sleeve and Bai Qi was too reserved. Nevertheless, Bai Yu really did a good job for this character! I think I’ll be looking forward to his future projects after this drama since his acting impressed me!

I mentioned that I’ve known Marcus Li and Ji Xiao Bing before this drama, where I’ve seen them in the drama “Be With You”. I think Marcus Li is a pretty good actor as he portrayed the different characters well too! Enjoyed both of his characters in both dramas! As for Ji Xiao Bing, since both drama requires him to have a cold personality (in a way), I hope that he’ll get a character of a different personality so that I can tell whether or not he’s good in acting hahaha but I do like him in Fairyland Lovers, cos he’s so so cute and just innocent in general ?

Music
I enjoy all the songs in the drama. They were all used appropriately at the different mood settings, getting me into the mood of the scenes quickly. Estelle Chen is also a pretty good singer based on the songs that she sang in this drama as I didn’t know of her previously (sorry). I’ll listen to the songs from time to time despite finishing the drama.

Overall
It was a good watch, tugging at my heart several times throughout the series. I think I’ll rewatch it some time in the future for the meanings behind the different stories showed. I highly recommend people to watch it, though it can be improved, it was a really good watch!

not much feels from this drama

after finishing this show, i really don’t feel anything from it, i don’t dislike it, but i don’t like it either, which is rare. while watching, i stopped for a month after watching ep 14, and decided to give it another try and continue it.

the acting of the casts are good, but the plot feels very bland. there isn’t much ups and down, even the part where she found out that he lied to her doesn’t make me feel much, i couldn’t really get into the situation…

throughout the drama i kind of just want it to quickly finish, and i cringed at many scenes. the only interesting part is where the female character’s personality is refreshing. she stands up for herself, has good perseverance, and gags when her partner tries to be romantic. i quite like her as it feels new to the many weak female characters.

overall, i did not enjoy the show as much as others, but if you like a cute and fluff drama, you can give it a try!

captivating story plot

It’s amazing how something that may seem difficult to work on, where the characters go through the same day everyday, can eventually be made into something so interesting.

The acting of the leads are so superb!!! Their acting makes the whole show not boring to watch, of course the plot was decent too, though with several loop holes. Towards the final part, where the parent’s backstory is shown is good too. Her acting is super real, and I could feel her pain through the way she portrayed her emotions.

The entire drama is decent, though we have to admit that there are loopholes and also the gore because I’m scared of the gory stuff.

Am glad I gave this a try, I definitely did not regret watching this!!!

surprisingly decent drama

initially, when i first saw the title and the poster, i didn’t add this to my list as it doesn’t entice me. yet, i ended up getting hooked to it.

the plot is really interesting and the actress, Gia Ge, did a good job portraying the details of a cat. the way she wrinkles her nose is really cute, and very cat like. also, i love her acting during those heartbreaking scenes, the way she cried, i could feel the pain and it makes me sad too.

Ren You Lun also brought Chi Yan to live, the way he detached himself to others because of his past, and how he slowly accepted help from others, and how Xiao Xiu helped him to walk out of the dark, being ever so supportive whenever he is insulted and treated badly by others. you could really see the process of him opening his heart to others, and that’s very comforting to see.

as for the story, it can be improved i guess. initially it was very interesting and feels refreshing but towards the middle, around ep 17-19 it feels very draggy, and the fact that they only managed to catch the assailant at the last ep is also uhh. they also just glossed over the story with his mother & step-brother, so did he finally stopped being in contact with them? or is he still suffering? or maybe they did show it but i can’t really remember nor do i understand that plot.

in addition, my most dislike plot in dramas is having amnesia in them!!!!!!!! and this show does too, sigh. but to be fair, in this drama, it was justifiable… i felt so sad when it happened and her acting really helped me understand how she felt inside, i’m just glad that it all worked out in the future. ah, another part where i feel slightly disappointed is the fact that the characters didn’t tell their friends about the secret? ): i thought they would but they didn’t and slightly disappointing as his bff is his only friend for so long.

anyway, was a decent watch as long as you ignore some plot holes and the drag. a cute & fluffy drama, worth a try! :)

Seeing the growth of the children

It’s a really good watch, you can see how the children learns to be less competitive & to be friend especially pao pao, a kid who has dwarf syndrome and was forced to exercise to increase his height and growth to overcome the syndrome ):

it’s a pity that chen li nong didn’t manage to join the ep where they went for the outdoor obstacles, that was so touching in many ways as you see the different groups helping everyone who needs help.

i love almost all of the children in this sports festival ❤️ hoping for season 2 & that the mentors (?) stay the same but i personally feel that wang sulong & xu jiaqi shouldn’t really be mentors bc they lack the patience and are not stern enough to teach the children ><

a cute fluff drama to watch

It has the “Forget You, Remember Love” vibes, where the male lead got into an accident and supposedly forgotten about his life. However, in this show, he lied, and was avoiding his enemy. I pretty much dislike the way he um, for the lack of a better word, forced/ pushed himself onto the girl? Idk, like the whole courtship doesn’t entice me. He kissed her without confessing, and he wasn’t even sure if she felt the same as him when he did it. It just felt very weird tbh, but okay, since the girl felt the same too, guess it’s cool? I do like that Anxin trusted Lingyue in a few occasions though she had certain insecurities sometimes too. She had a pretty tough life, so I’m glad she met the person for her, and am living a happy life after.

The other couples in this drama are cute too!!! Honestly, I feel that Xiner’s “love” for Lingyue isn’t that, more of like an obsession of wanting to win Anxin, so I could understand her sudden change of feelings for Lingsheng. Considering the fact that Lingsheng has AWAYS been there since she was young, she made a good choice choosing him, and finally seeing his love for her. I also feel that because he has always been there for her, she probably liked her for a while before acknowledging it & finally letting go of her obsession.

My rating for plot is low is mainly due to the fact that there isn’t much up and down to the show? There wasn’t really any moment which tugged my heart too, it’s just full fluff, which is cute I guess, but may tend to boring for some (which I did find it boring at some point of time). The pace of romance was quick, which is good. The character development for each characters is a plus point too.

Zhao Lusi’s acting is pretty good, liked her in dating in the kitchen. Liu Te was pretty decent too, while they’re cute together, I don’t really ship them tbh. I know many people will have a different opinion for this. However, to me, their chemistry ain’t the best. I’ve seen better so yeah…

Honestly, I wouldn’t rewatch this show, maybe only the cute scenes?

Overall, it’s a decent show but it’s not that awesome I guess. Though the plot twist did make it interesting though. Someone who is always so calm and nice may not turn out to be a good person while someone who is always mean and annoying may not hold as much grudges as we think they would. Anyway, I love c-drama cos they usually have a happy ending, and this one do too hehe ❤️ I would say, watch it if you like zhao lusi, she’s cute & her acting is decent. But if not, you can just skip this drama I guess

beautiful love between two individuals

After being recommended by many people, I finally watched this show. It started off slow, and episode one did not entice me. However, the more I watch, the more intrigued I became, and eventually loving it a lot.

It was entertaining, interesting, and constantly making me want to know what happens next, especially during the middle of the plot. Throughout the story, it rarely bores me, except for the second time their soul swopped though I did enjoy the first. It was initially funny, but they dragged it out the second time, and it made her character looks & feels stupid, which I did not like.

Their CGs and sceneries are also so so beautiful, I love the colours and the overall feels of every scenery.

The side characters’ dynamics with the main characters are also very cute, especially Black Dragon’s with Dongfang Qingcang & Xiao Lanhua.

There was a huge character development for both characters, which is what I love the most. Xiao Lanhua evolves from a baby, naive fairy, to someone who is more mature, and protecting the people she loves. However, I love that her character stood up for herself when being bullied.

For Dongfang Qingcang, he was once heartless, being unable to feel emotions, and slowly learn to love, and show kindness.

They both grew together and eventually helped each other to become a better version of themselves, and I love that.

I have watched yu shuxin’s previous drama, “Moonlight” and didn’t really enjoy it. However, I feel that this character suits her, and she has portrayed the character well.

Similarly, it’s my first show of wang hedi, and his acting skills are impressive. He portrayed all the emotions pretty well, and the slight changes in his expressions are interesting.

Their acting skills are especially good during the soul swopping scenes (though I myself did not enjoy the second time they used this plot as mentioned above). Their actions of the other party are quite realistic, making me believe that they really had their soul swopped.

This drama makes me look forward to their future dramas individually.

Their chemistry in this drama was also amazing, i was very touched by many scenes throughout the drama.

The OSTs are sooooo good, I love all of them, especially 诀爱. The different OSTs are also played during different scenes, which are always appropriate, and heightened the emotions they are trying to display during the respective scenes.

Honestly, I would rewatch it for the acting and the plot. Their love for each other is so touching, to the point where they are willing to sacrifice everything for the other party. Dongfang Qingcang also constantly show his love for Xiao Lanhua through his actions and words, which is impossible to find in many people in real life. Truly love this character. Xiao Lanhua has loved him and trusted him despite him hurting her (intentionally so that she wouldn’t sacrifice for him despite it not working). Their love for each other is so real, and it’s something that I envy a lot. Their love is reciprocal, is sacrificial, is sweet, bitter, and beautiful. ❤️

a heavy hearted comedy

It started out light hearted and funny, which I enjoyed. Yet, towards the middle, they threw a love triangle into the mix which made me dislike the character when I used to like him. Don’t understand why shows need to have love triangle when he could have made a perfect supportive friend?

Speaking of which, love the friendship between Yan Yan, Lian Pian, Yan Yun Zhi, and Sang Qi!!! They’re super supportive and protective of one another and it’s a friendship i aim to have.

The romance factor of this show is soooo low, maybe till ep 20 only. Tbh, I only enjoyed ep 1-20 then the plot starts to drag. They made it so dramatic and emotional despite us probably already able to guess the ending. ;;

Lusi’s acting is decent though. Honestly, Sang Qi can be an actor considering how she managed to fool Wenyuan so many times with her acting. :/

Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this show unless it’s only ep 1-20 for the lightness and then just skip the unnecessary angst part from ep 21-30!

perfectly depicts a healthy relationship

It’s common to think that dramas with only a couple will be slightly boring as there are many dramas with multiple couples to keep the story going so as to fill in enough episodes. However, this drama shows how having only one couple can be amazing too.

I really love the relationship between JingJing and YuTu, both so understanding and trusting of each other. JingJing is also super adorable and lovely!!! Reba really did a good job portraying this character. Tbh, I didn’t finish any of her previous shows but this one is really good, definitely recommend! She’s so attractive. YangYang also portrayed the character well, and is also very charming.

Though I have to admit that there were many times when I cringed during their PDA. Though sweet, I couldn’t really handle their PDA. Hahaha, but if you could overlook these scenes, it’s really an enjoyable one. The plot was really good too, no unnecessary drama to drag the storyline.

Overall, I enjoyed this drama and would recommend if you enjoy a simple yet cute drama!

a show that makes you want to keep watching

honestly, the ending of every episode is so exciting that it makes me want to continue watching the next ep, and always make me curious about what happens next

the plot is exciting despite it being 45 episodes, and it doesn’t really feel like a drag?

though i’m disappointed at the ending, i was soooooooo excited to see what happened to my 冬青 & 傅大人 but they just brushed it over through using words like “so this is what happened to them”
&& their love are so cute, the way they bicker with each other & realising that they’ve fallen

though i have to say that i admire the love of the main couple, where they trust & love each other so much, it helped them overcome all the difficulties

though it’s also their love for each other that led to many issues but still cute

anyway, give it a try if you can!!! it’s really quite worth it though you’ll get angry at certain characters/ actions/ decisions throughout the show

an amazing and cute drama

Firstly, I have to say that my love for this drama is so huge. Ding Xian and Siyue are my comfort characters. They’re both so encouraging and supportive towards each other, showering each other with love and kindness. No matter what happen, trust Ding Xian to be there for Siyue and Siyue for Ding Xian. If that isn’t love, I’m not sure what is.

I really love the entire plot, even during the middle. It is not draggy or rushed which most dramas tend to make a mistake in. Yet, you get to see their stories in the different stages in life. Even though there were time skips, they were used nicely for us to move forward into the timeline.

Xu Mengjie and Chen Zheyuan are super adorable and portrayed the characters well. They are in their 20s yet I never questioned their ages in the drama when they were in high school. I like their chemistry together, Ding Xian and Siyue really were best friends and it was naturally shown by the casts.

The other casts also did well Wang Zexuan, Wang Yilan and Fan Zhixin!!! I honestly would want to see more of Kong Shadi and Song Ziqi though, they’re both so cute too. They grew up together and were by each other’s sides throughout their entire life, which is sweet really. Though they have different personalities, they are a really cute and somewhat compatible couple.

The OSTs are so goooood, I’ve been listening to it everyday ever since I started the drama. It is THAT good. They are also used very nicely throughout the drama to bring out the different emotions and mood of the drama!

This is definitely a drama I would rewatch when I’m down, as there are many quotes in this drama which is relatable. Not only do they comfort the characters, I also felt comforted through this drama, as if there are people who know my struggles and hardships and are cheering for me.

Do give this drama a try! Though its genre is romance, it is not a cliche nor predictable. It’s a light hearted drama which touches on relatable issues faced by high schoolers. I really love this drama so much and hope others will enjoy it too! ❤️
