Romance + thriller/mystery with smart female lead

This drama was part of my watchlist because I wanted to watch romance with thriller/mystery element with a smart female lead. Such a fun series to watch!

What I liked:
1) Song Yao characterisation - I love that she is smart and resourceful - a femme fatale instead of a damsel in distress. I wasn't a fan of her secret weapon but some scenes were funny. Glad that she didn't use too much of her secret weapon because that could cloud viewers' judgement on her capabilities.
2) Ji Cheng Chuan characterisation - I like that he is a working class character and not your typical cold, bossy CEO character. He is smart and compassionate and at times naive about love.
3) Acting - This is my second drama of Wang Zi Qi (the first being Once We Get Married) and I enjoyed his acting. This drama has more action scenes and he seemed to handle the stunts and fighting choreography quite well. This is my first Zhang Yu Xi drama and I quite enjoyed her acting too. She did great in portraying Song Yao's vulnerability.
4) Romance - I enjoyed the romance between Song Yao and Ji Cheng Chuan. They were true partners, in personal and professional aspects of their lives. Even though there are not many kissing scenes, there were plenty of eye gazing, genuine smiles, hand holding and small gestures.
5) Supporting characters - Sheng Si Lin is surprisingly my favourite supporting character. I didn't like him at the start of the series because his purpose in the drama was to provide comedic relief but my thoughts changed when I watch his transformation from a himbo heir / socialite to a man worthy of managing his family's company. I also enjoyed the change of dynamics between Sheng Si Lin, Song Yao and Ji Cheng Chuan. Song Lingren is another favourite of mine too.
6) Villain - Despite being obvious to the audience, the villain arc was done well and the actor acted well too.
7) Ending - I like how the mystery/thriller saga was brought to conclusion because I was worried about how the writers going to wrap up that saga. It's great that Song Yao was shown both positive and negative responses to her novel - that scene and the actual meet cute were delightful to watch!

What I disliked:
1) Misfortunes - I pity Song Yao for facing many misfortunes, with 2 life-threatening ones.
2) Liang Jing Yi - An annoying character who silly enough to not that she was a pawn in a bigger game. For someone who studies abroad, she seemed quite sheltered / lacking life experience and unworldly.

Favourite scene:
Wedding of Ji Cheng Chuan and Song Yao. That twist was unexpected!
