These dramas have similar vibes. Both utilize flashbacks from high school in very clever ways that move the story forward and show surprises from both the leads’ perspective. Both are fun, youthful, romcoms with a lot of heart and great, bantering chemistry from the leads.

Both are spooky comedies with a similar episodic format of helping ghosts move on to the afterlife. Sell Your Haunted House is a bit of a darker comedy tone than Midnight Studio.

Both were sweet romantic dramas, with a little bit of pining and family obstacles, but the leads only have eyes for each other the whole time. There was a similar calm, almost slow burn to both stories which gave them a similar vibe.

Both stories have a similar plot line of past lives being entwined with modern day reincarnations and deal with fate as almost a secondary character. Very similar in vibe as well.

Parts of SotB reminded me of CLOY. Particularly the train travel through a relatively undeveloped, and frequently dangerous, land. The vibe of the story in those parts felt very similar to CLOY. Both are interring examples of navigating living under a military state and the difficulties that presents for the leads, as well as the corruption and different forms of lawlessness that kind of system breeds.

Both are set in a similar time period during the Japanese occupation and have elements of the fight for Korean independence. I also think the shows had a similar vibe. Both have some more serious, emotional arcs, but it’s really well balanced with the comedic elements and exciting actions sequences so it never feels too dark. Both stories manage to stay fun without being callous of the historical context. Both are also just really fun watches with great world building!

Fake It Till You Make It has a very similar tone to Something in the Rain! Both are good slow burn, friends to lovers stories. Both depict a more real to life, mature relationship between adults and deal with some of the difficulties and obstacles in relationships, beyond just being in love. Definitely one of the most mature and better produced cdramas I’ve seen!
The chemistry between the leads in both is absolutely electric! Heart fluttering, butterflies. If you like one, give the other a try!

Both have a fantasy, other world element. ML is a fish out of water from another world and FL has to help him navigate and try to fit in. If you like the fantasy elements of one, give the other a try.

I'm really enjoying Fireworks of My Heart partly because it's similar to the parts I really loved in Descendants of the Sun! If you enjoyed the dangerous jobs and life or death background to an angsty romance where the leads are trying to stay apart because they don't want to get hurt but can't help pining for each other and being pulled back together than this is for you! That's not everyone's cup of tea, but if you liked that aspect of Fireworks than you'll probably like Descendants and vice versa!

Both shows follow our leads as they heal from breakups, partly through their relationship with each other. I think both stories are written incredibly well and really take you on that emotional arc with the leads in a way that feels very natural.
Both shows have a bit of a slower pace and are more introspective. Both shows also have episode titles/themes that are incorporated into the episode in clever ways. Both have certain subtleties and through lines that are really brilliantly written into the story.
If you enjoyed one definitely check the other out!

Both are sagueks that balance a comedic lighter tone with some darker more serious moments. Both have a cross dressing lead, although in ToN it’s the ML and in OBY it’s the FL. If you enjoyed one give the other a chance.

Both follow the staff behind the curtains working in a fun industry. Both were mostly lighthearted and comedic. Felt they had a similar vibe. If you liked one, give the other a try!
