Almost good

They always say the book is better than the movie and I fully believe this is another mouse that fell into the trap. I made the mistake of reading the webtoon first and had my hopes too high for this drama. That aside, what I love is seeing the Queen back with her court lady (from Mr. Queen) and I felt the uncle-neice chemistry more than the man leads themselves.

The story felt extremely rushed in the 12 episodes and I constantly felt like I was being pushed out the door to see the end of the plot. The introduction of the characters was also quite rushed and confusing at times. Honestly speaking, I'm not sure what wasn't rushed in this drama. I wished they put a little more effort in the adaptation because it had a lot of potential, but it defiantly did not live up to the hype.

Not quite your typical cdrama love story.

I've been on a Bai Lu binge lately (along with a wuxia binge in general). I've never seen anything with Ren Jialun but I really enjoyed his acting and overall presence. Overall, I felt like this drama had a good thing going, great cast-music-production, but I was honestly distraught when I got to the last episode because I was left feeling empty.

The interactions between ALL the characters felt like they were missing a touch of something in my opinion. The acting was great but I think it had to do with the script/story. The constant sadness really just consumed me to be honest, maybe I'm just being brutal cause none of them were happy for more than half an episode.

Unfortunately not a drama I would recommend to those who are looking for your traditional chinese historical love story.

A classic slow burn drama

Gosh I wish I could rate this higher because it had so much potential! I've never seen anything from Zhou Dong Yu but this is the drama that made me fall in love with her cute smile! Overall I loved the actors, the story and hated the villains in the best way.

What I couldn't do was fully watch the episodes without skipping. It felt like the first 10 episodes were in the Bermuda triangle and the story continued to repeat itself. I got to about episode 37, took a 3 day break and skipped straight to episode 49 and I don't think I missed a thing. And the character names changed so many times I was getting motion sickness.

I would consider this a slow burn fantasy drama that falls within the "3 lives" story except they mainly stay in the heaven realm. It is worth the watch for the actors, I wouldn't recommend it a second time.

A masterpiece from the early years of our most beloved Korean A-list actors.

This was one of the first Korean movies that I watched a few years ago and to this day, I have left a little spot in my heart for this masterpiece. We have all seen animal-turned-human concept before, but not quite like this. The movie has an overall darkness to it that you can't shake off and makes you not want to blink for a second. So much is conveyed through the actors eyes and it felt like you were there with them through it all.

This is at the tip top of my Korean Movie recommendations and I don't think it can ever be replaced. Get your tissues and some popcorn ready because you are in for a ride!

If you've got an hour to spare.

I stumbled across #Alive one day on Netflix and was drawn to the cast since I've got a soft spot for Park Shin Hye and Yoo Ha In has been in some great dramas. I loved the acting and desperation throughout the movie, but other than zombie apocalypse it doesn't scream ANYTHING else to me. It was a decent time filler if you are flipping through Netflix and does not require too much if any brain power.

I wish Korea (and asian countries in general) gave more light to the movie scene compared to full length dramas because sometimes I really need a two hour movie to scratch the itch, but this unfortunately didn't fill the shoes.

A heartwarming, down to earth masterpiece

I recently rewatched this drama for the second time and it was still as great as it was the first time. The drama is extremely human and takes you on an adventure with 4 childhood friends as they navigate through their late 20's to find their dreams and love along the way. I can confidently say that there is not one thing I can knit pick on this drama and I give it all my stars.

To sum up my thoughts on this drama: "THIS SH*T'S HILARIOUS" and "I feel that, to my core" are some words that come to mind and I would recommend this to anyone whose looking for a relatable funny drama, I can guarantee this drama will fill the shoes perfectly.

Sidenote: The amount of memes that came out of this drama alone is off the charts and that just tells you how great it is.

A MUST MUST MUST WATCH

There are very few dramas that make my rewatch list and this one is at the top of it all. I first watched this drama a few years after it came out and it set my bars sky high for Taiwanese dramas (and dramas in general). The cast is amazing and the little boy is the cutest thing ever! There is your traditional poor girl/rich boy, mean parents, 2nd lead syndrome, miscommunication, funny tid-bits, and heart warming/breaking love. Since the first watch, I have watched it 3 other times and every time I am in awe.

This drama had the perfect concoction of it all and will remain timeless in my heart.

a painful watch and not in a good way

I came for Seven Tan after watching her amazing acting in Go Ahead and I tried not to let the mixed reviews stop me fron watching this drama.

Oh My God was this storyline confusing and I found a lot of the acting awkward between the characters. The timeline skips around from 2008 to 2018 back to 2010 and then to 2020 and by the time I thought I was in real time my mind was blank. It didnt like the flow of the drama and the supporting characters were bouncing in and out (besides maybe the friends son).

Dropped at ep 6 and I dont think I’m coming back.

p.s. I even found a shorted summary version on Youtube and couldnt finish that either.
