Underrated Romance Series
I’m very happy that I watched this k-drama despite the negative reviews I’ve seen here. Some reviews mention male characters being rude to female characters. I almost didn’t watch More Than Friends after reading that. I don’t enjoy cruel male leads in dramas or any emotional or physical violence against women. Any “rudeness” in this drama is not the Boys Over Flowers, Heirs, or other traditional k-drama type cruelty. This is the rudeness that mothers need to explain to their daughters when little boys are mean to them at school; the rudeness that means the little boy really likes you, but is too shy, inexperienced and not confident enough to tell you he likes you. This story is about the relationships of three couples, and how they learn more about themselves, to understand other people, and how they all grow into more understanding and self-aware individuals. There is some good relationship advice in this drama that anyone can benefit from. This is an interesting story that I quickly finished, and I recommend that you watch it, too, if you like romantic dramas. Was this review helpful to you?

A very refreshing surprise - reminded my why I love K-drama
I loved this drama! You need to watch it. It’s more about competition for grades, and scams where the wealthy and privileged buy preferential treatment for college admission, than it is about an affair between a teacher and a student. Misleading info about this show: 1) The title “Melancholia” sounds depressing. This isn’t a comedy, but it was not depressing, either. I binged 16 episodes in three days. I couldn’t do that if it was depressing. 2) There is no physical relationship between a student and teacher. I’ll admit a couple of episodes seemed slow, but the other episodes more than made up for it. I loved the ending, which is more than I can say for a lot of K-dramas. I was so impressed by what happened in a couple of later episodes that one scene made me cry happy tears, and another gave me goosebumps. Several people have asked if they should watch this, and I say definitely yes.Was this review helpful to you?

A very good drama
Love Alarm in general is very original and a great story. The actors do a wonderful job, and the writing is very well done. There are twists and turns and nothing is too obvious.Love Alarm Season 2 is not a stand-alone drama. You must have season one fresh in your memory for it to make any sense. You need to remember the little things. I see it as the rest of season one, not a 2nd season.
I believe the low ratings are due to people not knowing or clearly remembering the story. I watched the first season one and a half years ago. I just watched Season 2 Ep 1 and was so lost. After rewatching all eight episodes of season one, it changed everything! Season 2 Ep. 1 seemed like I hadn't watched that episode yet - it made complete sense. The repeat viewing was worth the time.
Another possible reason for low ratings is that the two male leads were competing for the female lead until the very end. 50% of viewers were probably soooo upset that their favorite man didn't win, that they weren't able to forgive the writers. They soothed their wounded hearts by giving low ratings.
