DILRABA+ YANG YANG!!?? MIC DROP

"But I am a rabbit who has seen most of the stars"
---
The story is about Jingjing( Dillraba) this beautiful super successful actress actually coming in touch with her childhood crush (Yang Yang) who is this very intelligent guy working as an Aerospace Engineer.
With fate he ends up helping her and during that process they get close and become really good friends.
Now it's now all sunshine and Rainbows and we get to see the real side of life in here which includes the struggle and middle class guy would actually face even with the person being a top student.
----
So I started watching YAMG after it finished airing and no I didn't know anything about it. What i saw before starting and actually started the show because of - was the damn cast.
Dilraba ( I love her since eternal love of dream) and Yang Yang in a show together!!??? That even a rom com?!!! Oh please man if this isn't enough to get one crazy batshit excited I don't even know what will.
The story is simple but has its own touches in a way that makes it different from your typical rom com in C drama land.
Our male lead was dashing as always but we were able to see a side which we don't typically get to see in dramas. Dramas usually portray the male lead as this God who is unbeatable and oh so successful in life, fed with a golden spoon. What we got to see in here was the struggle and the choices one needs to make sometimes that includes sacrificing ones passion for a better future.
Our female lead - is a celebrity in here
And yes at first glance one might think about dramas, break up separation between the leads, scandals but believe me there was nothing like this in here.
They portrayed it very simply but in a way that would make the audience invested in it in the long run.
One thing I absolutely loved about this was the fact that there wasn't any unnecessary drama, second leads and the fact that there wasn't even any second couple to share their screen time with the main couple. We get to see heart fluttering scenes executed with God level chemistry and beautiful dialogues portrayed by our absolutely drop dead gorgeous couple.
--
So if you wanna watch something which gives you butterflies and doesn't include unnecessary irrelevant stuff just for the sake of extending the drama, something that is light and you can binge watch on easily while doing work, then this is the show for you.

NOT YOUR TYPICAL ROMANCE

okay so it was surprisingly addictive...and beware this one here isn't your typical "love story"
its the perfect example of ill fated relationship for both the leads but what matters most is how they became each other's support and healed through the whole process!
CAST
it was a beautiful journey from the very start with our badass female lead Seo Ye Ji, tbh it was love at first sight for me XD like she was so damn perfect...this role was literally made for her and i don't think anyone else would have been able to pull of the ICE QUEEN role better than her! her whole vulnerable side when shown would make you tear up and actually make you feel bad for her and makes you understand her so much better..and by the end you wouldn't not fall for her
i think Kim Soo Hyun performed pretty well as our male lead too tho i kinda not liked him that much but that's just because of my personal preference of male leads but yes according to how his character was planned to be and all the background story which made him the way he was, the role was pretty much understandable and perfect the way it was
i tbvh found Moon Sang Tae very very very annoying at first but not in bad sense it was just that i felt it was very very unfair for Gang Tae but by the end of it i loved every single one of them!
Oh Jung se literally made the character of Moon Sang Tae come alive! it all literally seemed so real that one would seriously go through a roller coaster of emotions throughout the series and have mood swings according to how the story was going!
MUSIC
i freaking loved it like it just tied everything together so damn well!
the whole playlist was made to perfection in my opinion and i don't think the drama would have pulled off its whole vibe without the music it had
go ahead and watch this drama if you are tired of watching cliche love stories and want something totally different that would leave with you with thousands of different emotions and major mood swings;)

STREAM OR SKIP?

I have watched both the versions of A Love so Beautiful, the difference between the korean and the chinese version is that the korean version has 24 episodes each being 20 minutes long, where as the chinese versions has 24 episodes with each being 40 mins long and yes this did affect the plot-line a lot as the developed and growth of characters presented in the chinese version were not at all seen in the korean one.

Korean format focused more on the school years of the characters.
The Chinese original version was, on the other hand, more melodramatic and mature, with a larger focus on family problems and the characters’ adult life which helps one grow on the characters and know about them more deeply.
The Korean version is not a step by step adaption of the original, it just takes some plotlines and creates their own story which resulted in the lack of dept and the plot being left shallow. The drama has a very fast pace, and, at times, it’s too fast and makes things feel rushed.
Unfortunately, this remake failed to deliver the sweet cute chemistry and heart that the original C version did.
I liked the C version and was excited for the remake.
I think they really miscast this, there was zero chemistry between the leads and the female lead's acting just looked really cringe and didn't even suit her.
The male lead was just stoic and i didn't feel any connection or likeness towards him to be very honest, the C version had a stoic male lead too but we actually got to see his character growth and how he let down his walla and changed for the sake of his girl.
Now coming to the other characters, the second male lead visually i would say yes, but he left me disappointed as the C version one was really charming, i felt bad for him throughout the drama as i could see how much the girl meant for him. The K version had a nice male lead, yes he did a lot for our female lead as well..its just he didn't leave any mark for me.
The drama is an epitome of bad casting and direction.

just watched because of park seo joon

so how should i start... i never really liked Hwang Jung‑eum like every single person out there is always going on and on about how he/ she loves kill me,heal me but seriously i am unable to complete that show just coz of Hwang Jung‑eum's acting and the same problem was in this one too!!
like okay fine girl this show is a romantic comedy but acting like a crack person, screaming randomly at anywhere anytime.. bumping into stuff unnaturally isn't really my definition of "comedy".
the acting frustrated me so damn much till the very end and watching this show was more like doing it just for the sake of completing it was more the case..i seriously watched it with the episodes just playing in the background or me just fast forwarding it just for the sake of it...
the only character i actually liked was of Choi Siwon who turned out to be the only one who actually was kinda fun with on point acting without much drama..being a park seo joon super fan i was actually disappointed with this drama so very much..
i just wish that the story was dull without much spark, the music was one to not be remembered, and in the end there wasn't really anything much special about it:(

SHOULD'VE BEEN A MOVIE

Something in the rain came to me as a really fresh drama and watching the teasers i was very much intrigued by it. The whole concept really got me interested and drew me in immediately.
The initial episodes i will definitely say had me kind of wanting to watch more and more. This actually portrayed a very realistic sort of romance.
It felt like the writers were in the minds of their viewers and they made everything happen as you,the viewer, would have done, but yes unfortunately only lasted for the initial half of the drama.
Initially let me tell you, the viewers would be taken into the chemistry of the leads, the romantic encounters( there are a lottttt) and all of the little tit bit will make you continue watching it, but by the end of the initial half everything would start feeling irrelevant and repetitive.
I personally felt as if the writers were just dragging on the story line way more than they should have by creating unnecessary scenarios and fights that weren't even showed as properly resolved.
The whole plot of the second half basically revolved around crying, unnecessary arguments, lying to the other half, and miscommunication.
I would never say that SITR was a bad drama, not it wasn't. It just couldn't hold ones interest as the storyline deteriorated as the episodes passed and towards the end just too many plot holes were left open.
The ending was a underdeveloped, and yet again i repeat too many plotholes were left as it is. It was too abrupt and made it seem like after the whole reason of things not going right for them they just went back to square one. No conclusion, no proper communication NOTHING. They just kiss and make up? like i was so disappointed to see that the whole potential of the drama was wasted just for the sake of making it 16 episodes long.
Honestly it would have been perfect as a 2 hour movie, and believe me it would have been PERFECT, with nothing being missed out and all the faults in the drama being dragged out:/

OST-
I initially found the whole western songs playing in the background thing really beautiful during the starting episodes but by the time i came into episode 7 i was just bored, with the same songs playing every now and then that even not during the perfect timing it was just annoying.

I would conclude this by saying that Something in the rain would come in my category of an okayish drama which actually had a lot of potential but wasn't upto the mark and ended up disappointing me a bit.
If you are a sucker for romance and are really free i think you should check this one out, but if you are a bit tight on time and everything believe me there are some better options out there:)

A 10/10 SHOW AFTER SO LONG!!!

VINCENZO CASSANO *chefs kiss* from his first look in episode one i knew my heart is gonna be in trouble now..... Song Joong-ki oozed power, cold alpha male energy throughout the whole show and YES its PERFECT.

Its about an Italian lawyer and Mafia consigliere of Korean descent who is the adopted son of the late boss of the Cassano Family, a mafia family. During his visit to Korea tangles up in a fight against a conglomerate.
Let me just start off by saying this show was not AT ALL what I expected. I really didn’t know what to expect, but I loved this drama a lot more than I thought I would. I loved everything about it. It was so engaging, so fun, and so funny! With each passing episode it got more and more interesting and it makes a person get hooked literally HOOKED, one will legit be left with a hollow feeling when one episode ends coz it makes you want to watch it more and more and know whats the gonna happen next.
I LIVED for the chemistry between Vin and Cha-young they were like the epitome of perfection, the chemistry? off the charts like seriously it was even better than the one SJK had in DOTS!!! IT WAS LITERALLY THAT GOOD *screaminggggggg and crying that i ca't watch them anymore* There are just a few romantic scenes but when it happens for sure it’ll make your heart skip a beat. I love when Vincenzo gives her those heart eyes, he legit is wipped for her.
It's brilliant. The characters, cinematography every single thing is perfect. Everyone played their roles beautifully.
Cha- young is a chef kiss. Her character legit got me fangirl for her bad..she is sassy, witty, savage, funny, literally the whole package in one!
Taecyeon as Jungwoo, he is the kind of character who makes you fall in love with him but at the same time, he’ll make you feel the hate. I would have loved to see more of his interaction with Cha- young as ep 19 got me like go crazyyyyyyy !!
It has the perfect amount of thriller and comedy that makes you take a step back at the brilliance of it. The plot was never boring and even the villains had a sharper, darker edge compared to what I've seen in most dramas, it seemed much more realistic and truly fit the theme of evil vs evil. Our dear male lead was never a hero from the start and that aspect remained true to itself till the end.
Let me just say this for one last time, if you are thinking to watch it ? PLEASE GO AHEAD AND DO THAT IMMEDIATELY !! this show made me cry for an hour when it ended and it deserves every bit of success that it is receiving<3

Don't even know how I completed it:/

Jeez i don't even know what to say....like i found this drama on netflix and by watching the trailer was intrigued and felt that its something new with a fresh storyline...
When i started it i sincerely was drawn into it too much..it made me want to watch it till the very end and know whats gonna happen and if there is gonna be a happy ending or not..i watched it continuously till the 9th episode after than the drama as a whole went totally downhill for me...the scenes and the cast itself made me feel like what the hell are they doing...in simple words it was just a mess.
During the first half of the drama I thought it might go down as one of my favorites, but then it veered away from the fantasy aspect and totally into typical romance. I liked the cast so I feel fine that I watched it but there were so many unanswered questions: Were those portals opening up in the library? Who was the writer? What was the story of the Dried Squid Fairy and why was he so mysterious? It was almost like the entire writing staff switched out at some point and they never agreed on what the story was supposed to be.
In the end it had too many plot-holes with half of the original purpose of the story totally being lost and scene continuously being repeated without any spice or add on:/

watching it was pretty fun

so let's be honest, it was what you call a nice "cute" show that one would like watching after some serious dramas which have left your heart and head not wanting to watch anything serious directly after it
the show was exactly that case for me, it was simply light and had moments that made my heart flutter a lot without really stressing me out thinking what is gonna happen next and if something dramatic or serious is gonna happen
ACTING AND CAST
now how so ever the story is the casting has to be perfect to make the show a success, according to me the cast was very wisely chosen!
our male lead aka Han Shangyan was shown as the ice king and it was portrayed well by Li Xian.. there wasn't any overacting and what is common in many actors who are unable to play such roles well is that they just act like a stone and think that it is perfect for portraying the role, but not in this case Li Xian brought the role to life..yes it has cold moments but has equally vulnerable moments too that makes the one watching it get attached to the character and helps in learning about the part in dept.
for the female lead i thing Yang Zi was a perfect match too..falling for the ice king at first glance she is initially shown as a very cute and infatuated girl but her character evolves throughout the show when she is trying to understand Han Shangyan better and be a support for him..and the chemistry between them is too cute to handle!
i found all the cast being well placed with the whole setup balancing every element and not being unnecessary in any part! they all were major points that made the show come alive
MUSIC
okay so i am a music lover and i don't have much chinese dramas in my list where i liked the music much but yes this drama's music was good!! i especially love the song "couldn't leave" it's in english but it being played with some serious scene going side by side was just perfect and the lyrics are really good
do watch it if you are in mood for some cute romance without unnecessary drama:)

loved the side characters more, Neverthless

ahem ahem finally...like you wouldn't believe how crazily I waited for this show to air with only one ep a week yep if was difficult.
So the thing here is that this is most probably the first and only show where I was shipping our second male lead so hard cox obviously our potato boi deserved it all.
I was more invested in the side couples than the main couple.
Sol and ji wan yes HELL YES they made me crazy for them, I always had my heart eyes while watching them in screen:)
Oh Bit na and Nam Gyu had the whole wattpad I am in love with my best friend trope going on as well like sol and ji wan but man oh man we all need a guy who looks at us like Gyu looks at Bit na!!! Like honestly it was so obvious from ep 1 that the guy was madly, hopelessly in love with her and it broke my heart when I saw them part ways but it was soo funny seeing both of them pretending that they don't care about each other and then doing everything possible for each other's affection.
Now now coming to our seniorssss this couple of my so underrated I swear, I searched for idek how long to find their edits on YouTube like seriously watching them made my heart flutter and even made me scream that how more obvious should the other person be for the one of them to understand that they are in love with each other ;_;
Nabi and Jae Eon were two individuals which I think made us feel like being in a spiral. Nabis desperation to hold onto him wasn't something that I felt was wrong. It is what it is in real life as well, it's hard, hard to the point that one can lose themself in order to hold onto that one person and I respect that about the actors as they were able to potray it so well.
I wanted Nabi to be happy and end up with our potato boy as i thought it's for the best but honestly yes was deeply in love with our butterfly boy so yeah one is senseless in love and we get it but it ended with literally like no visible character developed just the sheer need and vulnerability to stay with Jae Eon and honestly out side couples having a happy ending mattered more to me than the lets date ending of our main lead.
