WTF was that ending?
I feel bamboozled, I paid for the Iqiyi subscription to watch this show and I feel like they played with me.I feel like the story was building to something it never reached. During the story the Viewer is taken on a journey with the male lead who is trying to design a robot and the female lead is a streamer working towards a big competition. The issue is we never see them reach their goals. This show could've had 32 episodes so that the viewer could've seen the leads achieve their goals. Instead, they decided to abruptly end at episode 24 without any real conclusion. Yeah the leads are together but the story is unfinished, did the FL make it to the competition? Does the male lead ever reach his goal with the robot? All I can take from this drama is the leads were cute and had a healthy relationship there is no angst or drama just a cute story. Don't look for this story to have a resolution or complete ending because it doesn't, it's so weird.

I loved how the illustrations for the show changed throughout ht certain points or major milestones throughout the show.
The story started off great. ML Ji Xiang Kong is an e-sports professional pursuing his dream. FL Qiu Ying is a e-sports upcoming commenter trying to pursue her dreams. The relationship started off rocky, they hated each other, the misunderstandings almost ruined both their careers. Don’t worry everything gets cleared up by episode 11. I’m usually not a fan of huge misunderstandings but I think it worked for this show. Through these misunderstandings the leads grew to understand each other more. I loved how passionate they both were about there careers. I never really felt the romance chemistry between the two of them. It was always just a feeling of supporting and wanting the other to succeed. They made a promise to meet On the world stage together as player and commenter. There where a few cute moments between the leads. ( Qui Ying reaction to the Ji Xiang Kong working out was hilarious.)
After Ji Xiang Kong decided to form his own team I feel like the storyline changed.
After ml formed own team female lead stopped pursing her dream. She devoted her time into his dream. The only other reference of her still doing commentary was after a celebration party in Ep. 28 I think. Luo
Tian her mentor commented on how her latest videos were getting better but we didn’t see that on our end. When her situation was cleared up and her mentor asked her if she would like to come back once everything is confirmed she said “of course, but Phoenix needs me now.” I honestly don’t think Phoenix needed her i couldn’t think of a reason for her to give up on her dream. We seen her go from a commenter who knew nothing about e-sports but at least she was working to learn to being a team leader for her boyfriends team. I would have rather her become a national commenter early on.
I didn’t see her funny best friend Lu Yi Yi much anymore. I enjoyed her character she was funny, a bit over bearing a times but I enjoyed her and Lin Yi Xuan relationship it was comedy. It was sad the storyline just stopped on there relationship and then it was just thrown back together at the end.
Side note: why was the female lead always being gift Face mask ????? Every time she was given a gift it was always the same brand face mask. They almost kissed again in ep. 31 but guess what... that damn face mask ????. And placement was great because now I’m looking for the face mask ????
Pei Xi is the true hero of the show. His character was amazing and he played it well. The only character that grew throughout the show. By episode 30 I was ready to stand up and clap for his performance lol. He was the best character on the show!
I don’t know the purpose of the Ji Xiang Kong extra girlfriend Miya coming back that was just extra filler storyline. I hated it because it made me dislike the male character. He didn’t do anything to provoke her actions but he didn’t do much to stop it. Even when the leads officially got together there was no character growth between the two of them the story line just switched up to fit the situation if that makes sense. Episode 32 ugh, they just kept throwing her in the story. Episode 32 had me ready to give up on the show. It further convinced me the chemistry wasn’t there between the leads. I didn’t see the point in being the ex back again and this time e with a whole new plot. I honestly didn’t think the ex was bad the first go round but the second time ???? this show could’ve been 7-10 episodes shorter. I hate end of the season break ups it makes me feel like I wasted my time especially with 35 episodes to have the leads break up episode 32 sucks. Don’t worry the main leads get back together in the end.
The villains
For most of the show I felt like the villains all but for the manager won. Karma didn’t catch the villains until ep. 32 which was long overdue considering it could’ve been cleared up had Kong supported Qiu Ying the way she supported him.

Chinese Writers need to create better material and stronger female leads.
Back when I started watching dramas in 2018 I preferred Chinese Dramas over Korean Dramas. Now here I am in 2024 and it's hard to find good-quality Chinese Dramas. This Drama was the worst for many reasons. I absolutely HATE how mild-mannered they make FL in these dramas. The first half of the show was just the FL with no backbone being bossed around by the ML who slowly started to develop feelings for her. Even the build-up to their dating was so anti-climatic and immature. The female lead acted like an abused victim who mumbled when she spoke and never spoke up for herself. I guess she was good at her job but not really she was just passive and gave good customer service. The case from episode 15 I think it was really irritated me. It was messed up for them to interfere with the mistress, wife, and daughter. It was clear the mistress wasn't a good person and that doing the DNA test would only hurt the daughter who was the most genuine out of the situation. That situation bothered me and the fact they never corrected the error and just let the story die out like that was ugh! I also think the revenge on the sister's ex-husband was so anti-climatic it was like girl this was your big payback... I feel like if this were a Kdrama revenge would've been sweeter.I started to fast forward after a certain point and here is why It took the FL half the show to figure out the lead liked her (episode 21) and then we get to episode 26 where the ML's admirer comes back and is about to play mind games with her. The second female lead was only there for a day and threw some compliments at the FL and defended the FL in a situation she started to gain the FL's trust and with that the 2nd FL was able to convince the FL to join her team. Of course, when she switched teams the 2nd FL was able to make her feel so insecure she ended up leaving the company altogether. I just wish they would write better, stronger, and smarter female leads in Chinese dramas. The 2nd FL is always more competent than the weak mild-mannered FL. It's crazy to me that the FL was so awestruck by the 2nd FL all it took was some kind words for her to switch teams. so annoying. This drama has no re-watch value and I'd only recommend it if you like the cliche dumb FL smart ML asian drama.

Does it count as romance if the lead female and male don't get together until the last minute of the show? Does it count as a romance if the lead female doesn't even decide on her own to be with the male lead the 2nd male lead has to tell her during the last 5 minutes of the show to go be with him?! Throughout the show, I had to force myself to continue the female lead was the equivalent of Kristen Stewart when it came to acting. Her facial expressions rarely changed and neither did her lips I had a hard time reading her emotions and WTF was up with her hair!? I hated the storyline, in the end, it seemed like all the villains won and all the good people just made out okay. The manipulative stepmother ended up getting what she wanted in the end. The male lead who was an awesome actor got the short end of the stick because he played his part throughout the show and the 2 female 2nd leads also did a great job I was even rooting for them throughout the show at times because the first lead was so uninspiring.
It's worth mentioning that I didn't watch Hana Yori Dango.

This was a good show but if you've watched the prequels understand this is completely different cast, personality, and storyline. You honestly won't need to watch the prequel to watch this one. I loved the male lead and his mother. The female lead was kind of annoying and completely different from the original cast. I had to keep reminding myself this is a different show. The romance chemistry was there, the typical cliche plot lines, and of course, they married on the VERY LAST EPISODE AT THE VERY LAST MINUTE I hate when they do that! Overall good show just don't go into it expecting it to be like Master Devil Do not kiss me think more Meteor Garden. If you're a fan of Meteor Garden then you should watch this. cute
Nice drama, very fluffy, and little to no angst, and if there was any it got resolved quickly. The leads don't officially get together until episode 20 but technically they're together from the start because the chemistry and everything is there. I'm a fan of the FL I've watched her in a few other dramas so I knew what to expect and she didn't disappoint. I enjoy watching her dramas because she doesn't ever play a weak mild-mannered FL that you typically see in C-dramas. I think this was the first drama I've watched with the ML and he isn't bad I just wish he could give more facial expressions. The leads had a very healthy relationship. Was this review helpful to you?

Unbelievable....
The funniest moments of this drama are when the ML says "Unbelievable" there is even a scene where the leads are at a banquet and see a desert table and they say it together for different reasons it's hilarious. Overall this drama was good I rated this a 7.5 /10 for the following reasons:- The storyline was light and fluffy with little to no misunderstandings. If a problem did arise it was handled within the episode or soon after.
- The love triangle if you want to call it that was very mild and not annoying. I hate love triangles and this one didn't bother me that much. The FL viewed 2nd ML as a senior and started to develop feelings for the ML a little later. The 2fl never stood a chance she was always viewed as a sister.
-I feel like the way the FL started to like the ML is weird. Prior they had a work relationship and she was annoyed with him. As a viewer, I couldn't tell when her feelings for the ML started. I didn't think she started to like him until she started to suspect he may like her. I wish we could've seen more in the area of the female also falling in love. Now once the leads were in a relationship she was all in.
- I wish the leads got together sooner since the show was only 18 episodes. The leads don't get together until after the episode 10 maybe episodes 12-13. The ML was in love pretty early on though.
- Ok, something that bugged me, how was the ML able to ride in his car which had red seats if he fainted every time he saw red?
- The actual story of the show was ok I can't really elaborate more because honestly the plot is so light by the end I was like "mmm that's it" lol. This story doesn't have a lot of depth to it. This is a very light watch and it's perfect if that's what your looking for.

Squid Games but make it a Rom Com
Ready Set Love reminded me of squid games with the bright set and the different games with eliminations. That's as far as the similarities with Squid Game go. I almost dropped it when I first started watching because I didn't care for the FL. I thought her acting and expressions were over the top. I'm happy I didn't drop the show because it was good and the female lead improved as the show progressed. I'm happy the story didn't just focus on the game aspect, I liked the story of the characters working to dismantle the system. I wish this show was longer and maybe we wouldn't need a season 2. Because the story was short the romance was good but lacking. We knew the leads had chemistry due to a shared past but beyond that, we didn't get to see them fall for each other again it was just I like you because your meow meow the kid I played/protected when I was younger. I would've liked to see more progression in the romance. Also if the show was longer the viewer wouldn't have to guess what happened to Son's father because the viewer isn't given any information other than he was caught but obviously, he didn't go back to the farm so where did he go? We'll get our answer to that in a possible season 2 because, during the last scene of the show, we see Ms. Kwan being given pictures of Son and Day (Their son) and Son's father. I rated this a 7.5 because it was good but their some things I would've changed. Was this review helpful to you?

could've been a 9.5 but...
I would've rated this drama a 9 or 9.5 had it not been for the last few episodes. I enjoyed this story and how it flowed. The leads were great. I remember thinking OMG, how will this end? I love the current Kang Tae Ha, but I wanted justice for the one from the previous timeline as well. I loved how the past and present intertwined with the faces from the past making an appearance in today's world. I don't have anything bad to say about the first half of the drama. My issue came in the end when the female lead had to go back to the previous time and correct the wrongs. I don't particularly appreciate how that part of the story was written I feel like she should've gone back changed the past and then come back to the present sooner so the viewer could've got a little more interaction between the leads in the end. Instead, the viewer is taken back in time where she corrects the past only for the ML to lose his life still at which point she goes and stays in a cabin house away from her family where she is then attacked by the person who killed her in the beginning trying to kill her again. She jumps to her death and reappears back where it started in the current time with the male lead and that's the end. The viewer doesn't know what happened between the time she jumped and the time she returned. I just wish the last 2 episodes were written better.sidenote: I loved the best friend and her relationship with the ML's assistant.

Nice warm drama just wanted more
Countryside dramas are hit or miss with me, the only one I've seemed to enjoy thoroughly is Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. I did go into this drama with the expectation it would be like HCCC, which was my mistake because this drama is its own story just like HCCC. I enjoyed the mother, the younger sister, and her daughter a lot in the drama. I think the storyline is consistent however I wish the FL wouldn't give up so easily and run away when defeated. This is something that her character grew out of by the end thanks to the ML. The reason I'm only rating this drama a 7.5 is because the romance was very quiet. Yes, the leads loved each other. Yes, the male lead was consistent and sweet but the romance was lackluster I wanted more heart-fluttering moments. I wish we could've got more of a story for the younger sister and her daughter I loved them. Overall this is an ok drama with little to no rewatch value for me due to the romance not catching my attention that much. Was this review helpful to you?

Extraordinary show!!!!
This is my favorite drama so far this year! I loved the character, storyline, and little romance. This is definitely a feel good drama. I enjoyed the cases and how they sometimes connected to the storyline. I didn’t like the little redemption arc towards the end For Min Woo. I don’t think he did anything to redeem himself. I’m not going to lie a small part of me wishes they exposed Attorney Woo’s mother just to see how it would play out. I’m excited for season. 2 I want to see more of her and her brother together. I rated this a 9.5/10 only lost half a point due to Min Woo.Was this review helpful to you?
