*EDIT*: THIS IS MY OVERALL REVIEW of the 6 episode, so 1/3 of drama, as I'm dropping it this is why I posted a overall review and not on episodes review
When you write a review you are asked "How Many Episodes Of "Rich Man" Have You Seen?", obviously if you want review one episode, it's the best if you can do it on "Review Episode" section, but as I'm drooping the drama, I don't think it's wrong to write my review here.
As you can see with my list on my profil, I'm not really someone who will stop a drama, even if I don't like it but here....
I just saw the available episodes of Rich Man ... (aka the Korean version of Rich Man, Poor Woman) sorry but I find it so average ^^ " (and I'm nice with 'average')
Already it inflates me that someone decided to remove the feminine part of the title ..
but it's not new in the industry.
The problem is that the whole thing lack of charisma and charm, so if you still have the original in mind .. difficult not to make comparisons. And even if you don't want make comparisons, you just can't help but point what is wrong with this version.
I'm someone who is completely ok with 10 versions of the same story, I did like almost all versions of Hana Yori Dango and even can't wait for the Chinese version.
What was good with the original is that the concept of the company was credible. We were at the beginning of the era of smartphones and applications etc it was interesting to follow, there I feel that they are obliged to do + and too much to convince us .
The main character that is normally complex, is here boring as boring can be. The main character in the original version was sometimes unfriendly, but he also has that hardworking side, eager for new things for his company that make him someone we want to follow, but also a leader that his employees want to follow.
Outside I think that Suho, as an actor, does not have the talent yet to bring this complexity for us, to show this range of emotions (at least for the episodes I saw).
For the female character, she is normally a gimp in her actions, but not fragile or bland, on the contrary, she is the one who leads "the dance" normally. And as always in Korea, they just cut the best part of her.
So I find myself in front of a drama where I do not really want to follow the work side around the company, and where I find the main couple not credible.
I'm sorry for this bad review, it's not my style to do this, but I just can't help it here.
The only thing I have to add is just go watch the original Rich Man, Poor Woman.
