A twist to a typical crime-thriller romance drama

I am very glad that I had decided to give this drama a try upon reading JojoOnDatBeat's CW article. I had originally passed this drama off as the poster for this drama wasn't attention-grabbing enough and the synopsis didn't hook me. After watching the first episode, I was sold and the rest was history.

Story:
I enjoyed the twists and variety of ideas that were added to this romance crime-thriller type drama. I was a bit concerned at first with what we were introduced with as it could have gotten real messy and crazy real fast, but I thought they executed it beautifully. I didn't feel lost or confused. I appreciated how the characters were briefly explained to us audience right from the get-go. The theme was also a good one and very obvious as it is repeated numerous times throughout. Every character served their purpose in my opinion - didn't seem like there were random characters placed for no reason. I was satisfied with how the story progressed and ended.

Acting/Cast:
I have never watched any of these actors/actresses in anything before so they were all new to me and I was pleasantly surprised at everyone's acting! Let's start with the FL, Nina Wang. She was a lot younger than I had thought when I looked up her bio as she has quite a mature appearance. I thought she did brilliantly with her role. I was never confused with her characters. She was convincing and showed the differences quite well. I would definitely watch her in other dramas if/when she participates in future projects (right now on her bio page, she's only in this drama and one other movie). Our ML, Zhou Chen Gao, was a gem to watch. His acting might put some people off but I found it endearing. He's got this boyish smile on him and I thought it was just so natural and fitting for his character. There were moments where he looks like he's about to crack a smile or laugh but it made it more charming and natural as I find myself doing that (smiling or laughing) during nervous or awkward moments as well. I loved watching his reactions to the FL during the times when he was getting to know her and still trying to figure out what's going on with her lol. During emotional scenes, his acting was able to bring tears to my eyes which I was surprised by lol. The supporting casts and all the extras also did an amazing job. To me, everyone put in their 110% as I believed their characters and felt what most of them were feeling.

Music:
The background music definitely did their job in heightening the suspense and thrill of the ride. There were only 2 songs I remember hearing in this drama and they were pleasant and fitting for the drama though nothing that really jumped out and grabbed me like some other dramas' OST did lol.

Rewatch Value:
I don't tend to rewatch a lot of dramas but if I was to introduce this to a friend and they asked me to sit along with them for the ride, I definitely wouldn't mind!

Overall, I enjoyed this drama. It was nice and short - didn't drag on and fairly fast-paced but believable. I thought the development of the main characters' relationship was quite natural and cute to watch! I would recommend this drama to anyone that ask whether it's worth watching. It might not be a masterpiece but it was definitely a solid drama in my books :)
