Aesthetically neat, the rest? Messy is the word
At first I thought that I wanted to give a good review simply because they’re displaying a type of autistic (“asperger” is no longer a term in the diagnostic manual since bout 2013 btw) that Korean media doesn’t usually share (ones who don’t stim and such, youknow, the typical representation)..Anyway, as the story grows, I feel like the movie is trying to communicate that instead of her being an autistic, she’s more of a ‘psychopath’ (that scene with her mom when she was younger). I understand this but I feel like many people would misinterpret this as a part of her being autistic tho it has nothing to do with her autism..
Overall, I feel like they’re prioritizing their artistic aspects. Well, their lighting, filter, storyboard, and wardrobe choice are the ones that made me wanna stick around. Also, heyyy, not a fan of Kim Yong Ji, but this hair suit her really well, she looks gorgeous.
Well, anyway..
Many plots jump wayyyy too much. I can catch up yeah, but I’m scared that I’d decode the wrong message or something… this style of script… I feel like it’s becoming a little old-fashioned… I understand that the scriptwriters were trying to reveal certain information at a certain timing, but I personally wish that they have a nicer method for it…
Some scenes, btw, just don’t add up. Overall, the characters lack of depth. They’re pretty dumb too (despite knowing the crimes happening between people from the app, they couldn’t be a little bit more cautious, what?). Plus, you can still stir people’s emotion with less duration of sex scenes, no? (Unless if the sex scenes are the actual highlight of the drama, then ok).
Ah also, I thought that the “somebody” app will have the “someone” chatbot.. I mean that’s the thing that brought Sum and Samantha together, no? Well, anyway, why would Samantha made Sum the CTO is they’re simply selling a Tinder. “Somebody” is literally “Tinder”(!?)
Idk what to say about the ending. It traumatized me the way she did that to him, I really wish I can forget that.

If I were a movie maker, this is what I would dream to make
I thought that it would be some boring scary Goryeo drama, but it was the total opposite. The characters, btw, are perfect, altho I came to support Seo Yul, I kept looking forward to Naksu x Jang Uk interaction. I looooooooove the script. The elements in the story are everything I ever wanted. But, the script itself is extremely neat, have a perfect timing, constantly giving me such a pleasant experience, all I ever expected but never expected.
^ These sentences are so messy, but my feelings towards this drama is really messy.
I usually dislike KDrama for having too much episodes which was also the reason why I hesitated to watch this drama since it has tons of episodes, but I wish there were more episodes, bring season 2 NOW.

It's not perfect, but I'm rating it 10 to let you know that you MUST watch it too
I wasn't actually looking forward to this drama since the synopsis sounded depressing. However, nah, I had wayyy too much laughs. It's really admirable how the writer turned what's supposed to be some normal boring scenes into such comedy, that's just awesome. There were some "horror" as well and they wrapped it so nicely. However, there were some details that held me from giving a 10/10 genuinely...
- How the cameos (or actresses who were not doing their lines) pretended to have a conversation. It seemed that the director didn't pay enough attention to this (perhaps the director trusted the actors a little bit too much), still tho, it really bothered me
- There were many awkward lines, I thing many of them existed before transitions to another scenes. I don't know how their system works, but it felt as if these lines were done by some rookie writers. Then again, I feel like it's something that can somehow be repaired by the director, maybe, not sure.
Overall, it's obvious that the production team is filled with highly experienced professionals. The casting and acting were perfect as well.
REMINDER: It's a must watch drama!!!

Took me too long to finish...
The few first episodes were too hard to finish, I can't help but keep cursing Chouji for being such an ass.For the drama itself, it's just a little bit too slow / maybe I'm just not interested in most scenes. Other than that, it kind of bothers me that Yuu-chan brings the "family" paper everywhere, but we can let that slide for the sake of the plot.
I personally don't like the script, many parts are just ugh, but I think that the writer is a genius. I'm mostly impressed towards how they wrap the conflict scenes with some laughs. I'm also really happy with the scenes where Hiro's inner voices were spoken. Even when they weren't spoken, many of the lines really cracked me up.
Honestly, when Hiro revealed her new partner, I was really angry (but it was personal I guess, if the character wasn't played by Amami-san, I think I'd be 'whatever'). Anyway, I'm glad they ended the drama this way. It made me sad, but it's only realistic that in the end, Chouji felt that way.

It's pointless to watch it if you're dumb tho
I went to watch it as soon as this came out on Netflix (blame Shin Min-a for looking so fine in the trailer). At that time, I hate and don't understand a thing about politics. I was extremely dumb and it's really hard to keep up with this drama. At a point, I even had to take a rest by watching "Designated Survivor: 60 Days" where the politics is on the easy level.
After I finished that drama, I forced myself to continue this drama. Go watch it yourself but I learned a lot. Ever since then, I started to take interest in politics which was eventually manifested in my bachelor thesis.

YOU NEED TO WATCH THE SPECIAL EPISODES
Finished this a long time ago, but I'm missing this drama, so here we go.First of all, I have always been a really awful-performing student, so I can't help but hate this drama at first.
I couldn't finish the first episode and put it on hold for months. One day tho I decided to force myself to finish this drama (Motivation: Queen Amami-san + I was interested in how the production team communicated the mood of the scenes.. those cinematic aspects).
As I watched more episodes, I started to understand why Maya-sensei acted that way. However, I still can't agree to it. However, however, after I finished the two special episodes, I finally could understand.
I cry and smile a lot during the drama, it was a beautiful experience. And the ending scene.... I cry x smile at the same time.

This drama literally changed my life
My age was far from being around 40 so I didn't want to watch it, but I had to... because there's Amami-san..At around the time that I was watching this drama, I had only finished watching 3 K-Dramas. Those three dramas gave me three (very) different life lessons that got me saying "wow, incredible dramas, rare".
However......... while it previously took me 3 different dramas to give me 3 different lessons, "Around 40" gave me (more than) those 3 different lessons in just a few episodes.... that's crazy.
The script is just awesome and is very very very neat, I love everything about this drama, I'm okay to say that this is probably my favorite drama. This drama also gave me a lot of considerations to my own personal life. I personally have already permanently changed a lot (for the better) thanks to this drama.
