The idea could have been nice, but it was ruined in more and more ways

Before watching a drama, I usually do some research and try to figure out if I will enjoy the story or if it is worth my time. This is to say that the story (8 episodes in Love Alarm and 8 episodes in Love Alarm 2) wasn't that bad, however imaginative, but it was ruined by some script choices and above all by an ending that made little sense and was not very pleasant. The kind of ending that leaves you thinking "the they did it on purpose to show that they are different and don't do things like everyone else"

Jo Bo Ah's performance was particularly impressive to me

I had only seen Jo Bo Ah in Destined with You, in a very different interpretation, due to a very over the top role and a strange hair dye. In Tale of the Nine-Tailed, I saw a completely different interpretation. If I hadn't read that it was the same actress, I might have struggled to recognize her. I found it as an indication of a talented and versatile actress who can handle multiple roles with absolute authenticity. Of the two dramas, I loved Destined with You more and this one less, while in Tale of the Nine-Tailed I appreciated Jo Bo Ah more

As for the story, what can I say, the same mechanisms were repeated over and over again during the drama, a sign of a script with an initial idea but few ideas to develop it for 16 episodes. I found particularly absurd the presence of people with the most incredible powers who continually make the same stupid mistakes, just to advance a script that might definitely be improved.

A fresh story with pleasant smiles

Let's start from the most positive note: Doh Kyung Soo and Chae Seo Jin prove to be excellent actors; he is convincing even in a romantic story, and she is charming in a characterful role with adorable grins.

Granted, the story is brief, with only six episodes lasting around ten minutes each, and you would have preferred a longer story, but unlike other short plays, it does not leave you with regret or a sense of incompleteness: the true protagonist is not the story of the characters, but the tale itself, the story of something in the works -a movie or a love story- and of the commitment and determination to achieve something important that you love, even if you can't say why. The opening scene of episode six sheds light on this, as a commission that provides funds asks him, an aspiring filmmaker, why he likes movies and why he wants to make them. All he can say is that he he loves them so much; he can't find other words to explain it other than smile. Sometimes we can't describe why we love something or someone so deeply, we can just notice ourselves smiling warmly when talking about it.

A special mention goes to... Chae Seo Jin's character: it's great that in a relationship, when there is a split but there is something valuable to save, one of the two people takes on the burden of repairing and steering that difficult journey that leads to reuniting, towards a better future.

The only flaw: it should have lasted at least 6 or 8 episodes

Of course, if it had lasted 16 episodes, it would have been even better

The drama is very nice and all the actors perform exceptionally well. It's a shame that the story has all the potential to be told in more episodes; it's not one of those stories with a poor pretext that fades away quickly. If the drama had been longer, the viewers would have liked it more, and the characters' stories would have been told with more engagement and maturity.

Another problem resulting from the too short length is the lack of a suitable soundtrack. There is only some music and sounds to comment on the important moments, but a full musical accompaniment is missing.

A special mention goes to... one of the fluffiest reconciliation gifts I've ever seen in a dramas, in episode 4. Very sweet and thoughtful.

, in particular the actors are all very good. It's a shame that the story had all the characteristics to be told with more episodes, it's not one of those stories that has a weak initial pretext that runs out easily. If it had lasted longer, the viewers would have enjoyed it more and the characters' stories would have been told with more involvement and maturity.

Because of the excessively short length comes another small flaw, namely the lack of a proper soundtrack. There are only some music and sounds to comment on the main moments but a complete musical accompaniment is missing.

A special mention goes to... one of the fluffiest reconciliation gifts I have seen in dramas, in episode 4. Very sweet and full of meaning.

A very cute and fresh story

If you're looking for a nice drama, without any pressure and without those often over-constructed twists, 'Once Upon a Small Town' is the show for you. The number of episodes and duration are reduced compared to usual dramas, but the story is not affected.

Sometimes some scenes can be a little over the top and it's curious to have a police officer who seems to do everything except the police officer, but this helps the script to create gimmicks and new stories.

Joy and Choo Young Woo are very nice together. Joy's character in particular is very sweet and positive, and her smile lights up the series

A very sweet and positive drama, featuring lovely actors

The story's premise — a girl who must pretend to be a robot — is a nice one and provides the right amount of gimmicks and enjoyable moments.

The actors were all really good. Chae Soo Bin stands out for her funny and touching portrayal of two different characters, which allows her to use several registers and demonstrate her incredible talent. Kim Min Kyu is also good, even if the script relegates him to a character with fewer expressions and facets.

Special mention goes to... episode 27, which features flashbacks of the most significant events to clear up any misunderstanding and connect the past and present together with a lovely vision of the future.

10 years have passed, but it is still a fresh drama, that is absolutely worth seeing

The topic is more relevant than ever: the way journalists tell the news, always having the truth at heart and not ratings and the spectacularization of events, especially the saddest ones.
The only criticism that could be made is the expedient at the basis of the story, i.e. stating that one person in forthy-tree cannot lie since every lie causes hiccups... Anyone of us knows more than 43 people and none of them have continuous hiccups, so the claim seems a bit extreme, or at least the statistical numbers a bit excessive for a story that wants to talk about reality. Despite this premise, the whole drama is told in a fairly realistic and believable way.

Both actors impressed me greatly. Lee Jong Suk is always a safe bet, but this time I found Park Shin Hye particularly good and full of expressiveness. She not only looked stunning, but she also did a fantastic job as an actress, defying a lot of the criticism she has faced in the past.

Special mention goes to... the best first NON-kiss in dramas, as well as one of the sweetest goodbyes between Main Lead and Female Lead

Second special mention goes to... the scenes between grandfather and Dal Po in episode 4. Very touching and full of humanity
