The drama is based on a Chinese novel. The main leads showed great chemistry with their funny & cute relationship journey. The show is not that cliche as I thought it would be. Just like any drama, there's characters that hate one another but not to the "crazy-evil" extent. Overall the show brought out more laughters and enjoyment during my watch.

One of the best

Just a note, I'm not one to watch historical dramas. But this was definitely one of the best (and even have the urge to rewatch) despite the ending.

Storyline, acting, cinematography, OST, idioms used - everything was done SO WELL.
Both the main leads have solid acting and they have brought out the characters even with the small things, such as their hand gestures, eye contact etc. Even so, all other characters acting were so good, to the extent I actually hoped there were more episodes just to include the other side characters stories! The music - it fits so much with the scenes and its just astounding!

I'm sure everyone already knows the ending for this drama to be real sad. Let's say I don't favour dramas with extreme sad drama-line for the leads cause it just feels depressed. But the story for OAO was so well executed to the extent I am so into rewatching, crying my eyes out, and subsequently watching FAE to heal my sadden soul for their past life.

This is definitely a nice drama to watch. For those who were like me that are not into historical ones, just try it! There would be FAE for you to watch after this anyway haha. Ps. just remember to prepare some tissues mostly on second half of the drama :)

Helping the dead once again before they finally leave the present life

This is the first and only Ferryman series I've watched, and i didn't expect this to be a Singapore based drama. Filming was done in JB/Malaysia. Characters mixed with Taiwan/Malaysian/Singaporeans.

The storyline is great, 1 or 2 episodes per story. The CGI used in the drama was quite well made. Kudos to the team for making it good. Each story have a reason behind its happenings and how the trio solves it. For this, I feel it being very heartfelt whenever the story ends - like how they help the dead finish their final wishes, before sending them away.

However, the acting is not too wow for me. Not bad, but just doesn't wow me. The acting felt a bit held back by the actors themselves, whereby you can feel a slight barrier between them. Not sure could it be because of the genre of the drama itself, they were trying to held back or what so. Either way, I still enjoyed the drama despite of this. The story is quite enjoyable to my liking.

Whether I'll be rewatching it, definitely not any time soon. Though the drama was enjoyable for me, but story itself doesn't urge me to rewatch.

Refreshing time travel drama

As compared to Thai lakorns produced few years back, I've got to say this drama had up-ed their production in Thai dramas. The drama talks about FL having 2 identical characters (one being in the present and one in the past), which switched places (not bodies!) and how they go along with each other lives of different eras. The story looks slightly more into when she time travelled back to Ayutthaya era (but definitely still number of scenes in the present day).

The drama does not over-exaggerates. The drama plot went with "go with the flow" type of feel. It was a mix laughter, and also exciting plot with ofc some sad scenes (not those type of "force-to-breakup", but more into just sad it had to be that way). The drama had showed some Thai cultural and traditional items which had enlighten me. Very pretty and interesting. Great drama if you're looking of something new rather than the usual slap-kiss lakorn.

Acting/Cast: Both ML FL and sub characters incorporated well. It's actually my first time seeing these actors' dramas and I might say their acting is REAL good. It felt so real when they were speaking, by means of their speed and tone.

Music: Cute and matching even though I don't understand Thai (goes the same as K-dramas) but you can feel the music flows with the show.

Rewatch value: I'd consider watching probably when there's no new drama to watch and I would like to rewatch a drama. Nothing particular or meant that the drama is not good, just that the drama plot may not have any specific OOMPH story line that super excites me to rewatch anytime soon. But the drama is indeed a good watch.

Simple and fresh drama that just keeps you warm

If you're looking for a drama to keep your day going filled with loving and fresh feels, then go ahead and watch this. It's been a while I've seen a drama that just goes smoothly with no typical sudden accidents/accidents/force-to-breakup storyline. The story is just plain happy and fills up your day. Even the OST goes through the show with such match. The drama includes parts relating to gaming - of which I would prefer they've also added more in the later episodes instead of just the front before both leads officially meets F2F, since that was how it started. But either way, the drama also shows how a person grows from each falls they have, presenting a sense of reality where we need to learn to climb back up. The only downside is I couldn't cope with 2nd ML charactor who likes to FL. The way he expresses his hidden love to her feels very cringey and creepy which makes ne quite uncomfortable. However, overall story line have been quite enjoyable.

Update: I actually rewatched it twice and felt the drama to be real healing, probably from the OSTs which matches the storyline and all hehe

If you're into the crime investigation genre of drama, this is definitely one of the best. The cinematography is just amazing. The story plot was well written & all the main and supporting actors acted amazingly. The background music was well fitted into the show too. Every episode of this drama made me feel like I was watching a movie. Just remarkable.

Insight on China's prosecutor industry

This is actually the first Prosecutor based C-drama I've ever seen (K-dramas have more of prosecutor based stories).

Since it's a first, it brings you insight on how law and prosecution works in China. I actually enjoyed the plot for the cases they faced. At first when I started watching, i got quite speechless on how kinda immature the FL is even though she got accepted into being a prosecutor. But as time goes by, you'll start to see how she grow to become mature which is great to see. There are romance in this drama (but not too intense romance). However, the romance between the side characters are more enjoyable than the main leads sighs. I feel that the ML acting is slightly lacking, and i can't seem to feel the hearts when with the FL. Overall its just plain off, considering he is also the ML... thus my drop in review. Yes, there is suspense in the drama which focus on the whole story since the beginning (how ML parents death might be linked to the FL family, and also how ML digs the truth of his parents death through the linkage between sub-cases which the prosecutors solved.

Rewatch? Maybe not. This is more of a one-time drama if you are interested in this type of genre. I started watching also because I've never watched china prosecutors before, only korea's, hence the interest. If you like case solving, law related drama, this can be a nice one if you're out of shows to watch.

ZSC and SY has gone a long way to be finally together

As everyone knows, Forever and Ever is the sequel for One and Only.
I personally watched OAO then only FAE (though I understand some watched either one only, or the other way round).

Extreme brief summary:
Shi Yi (FL), a voice actor, dubbing for a movie which the character is named Zhou Sheng Cheng (ML). Because of this, when she heard ML's name to be ZSC (same as the character for the movie she is dubbing for), she got intrigue and went after him, and there goes the love story of theirs.

Story:
If you're looking for an exciting drama full of sweetness, laughter, or every episodes of honey splash to you, it might not be what you think so. Even though the OAO and FAE are not linked, its more of their past life and present time, 2 separate stories. The drama plot might be boring for viewers just watching FAE. Nevertheless , yes the drama is still filled with cute and happy scenes. I would still think FAE lacking in story. Family feud is not significantly bad (that's because they view the family's money to be shared and supported by the whole family, and not for individual's benefit - but of course there will be that ONE person who thinks the other way round).

SY is more dominant in this. ZSC is like a rookie in love but you can see his character develop and he is more into showing his love behind without expressing.

Either way, all because I've watched OAO beforehand, the links of what happened in OAO comes into mind whenever i watched FAE. An example would be, in OAO - ZSC had to go fight into war without knowing when to be back, whereas in FAE - you will see ZSC being a character that's very particular on his schedule. You can see how much the writer put the effort for the story.

Acting:
No bias here but both Bai Lu and Allen Ren acting is top notch. Every small detail have made them into the character. Just FYI, both of them have totally different personalities from the characters (you can see it in the BTS). All the second and sub-characters acting were so good as well. Definitely enjoyed the drama.

OST:
THEM FEELS!!! I've been replaying it non-stop ever since!

Thoughts:
I'd actually rewatch the whole OAO and FAE together again after a few months. It just felt the drama from lovely and sad (OAO) up to sweet and healing (FAE). The drama is interesting and i enjoyed it. Next round will be reading through the book it was adapted into hehe
