A nice quick watch
I watched this drama to help me with the yearly MDL Challenge. I was grateful that it was a quick watch of fourteen 30-minute episodes. The story was also easy and simple for me to follow, which mostly does not happen with me and C-dramas.
There were, of course, some negative aspects that I got from the series. What comes to mind is when they were riding their horses and you just know the background was fake—it was just so poorly done. I also felt that for a short series, we really did not need three villains for this show. I understand the purpose and need for the first and last villain, but the second one, I think that we could do without her. I also did not see the need for the actual ending with the MC meeting each other in another life in the present day, as they did get their happy ending, so I did see that part as pointless.
While I did find some faults with this series, there are some aspects that I do adore. I loved the comedic duo who worked with Wan Niang in her shop—they made this series enjoyable. I really liked the secondary couple. I also liked the fact that Wan Niang did finally realise that Fang Mo's past life did not kill their master as she was told so many years ago that he did.
All in all, it was indeed an enjoyable series.
