Who doesn't want more Yang Zi?

Yang Zi plays a bright and youthful FL in both dramas with a ML 10 years her senior who has been jaded by very tough life experiences. Opposites attract in these two extremely sweet romances. Go Go Squid focuses a lot on career while The Oath of Love focuses a lot on family. Both are a must watch if you're into romantic comedies! Soooo cute, funny, heartwarming, and the chemistry is so natural--truly top notch!

Bonus: both include very beautiful and meaningful OST tracks that are sang by the leads themselves!

These dramas are both sweet romantic comedies about youth and athletics. The main leads knew each other when they were little but grew up apart, meeting again in university. The female leads are tougher than the male leads, which gives a great comedic tone to the relationships. They both support each other's dreams of training, not just for their goals to represent their country in the next Olympic games but just for their pure passion. The individual stories are different, but the vibe is very similar! Both are super light watches and thoroughly enjoyable! I went into both not expecting to be as invested as I grew to be.

The bright female lead chases after the cold male lead who uncovers his soft spot for her—a trope as old as time but so well done in both dramas that it remains refreshing and tugs at your heartstrings. Both dramas are filled with sweetness that brings out the giddy romantic in you and makes you melt. The cast features an ensemble of characters you love through and through. You'll also see a familiar face in Hu Yi Tian (whether you're a fan or not) playing the stoic boy with some killer one-liners. Top of my recommendations list for anyone looking for something fun and sweet!

If you enjoy lighthearted youth dramas, then you can't go wrong with these two. They're adapted from novels written by the same author. They both give you that fluffy feeling in your heart, but they do so without recycling the characters, which was something I was genuinely surprised by! Though you may have seen certain elements of these plots elsewhere, the dramas are executed in a truly unique and endearing way that you aren't reminded of the cliches.

The couples are brought together by both fate and a political marriage. Our princes struggle to balance their treacherous positions with the love of their lives. They mask their true love, thinking that they're protecting their significant other, but unintentionally wind up hurting her. Deeply scarred by this love, our female leads turn to the powers of the River of Oblivion to put the past behind them. The stories pick up again some time after a heart-wrenching romance already began and follow them through as fate brings them back together in a world that threatens to pull them apart.

The romance that centers these dramas have some similarities, but the stories themselves are very different! The cast, production and soundtrack are all stunning. Both dramas are worth watching!

Fans of Ashes of Love are some of the strongest people to walk the earth, and that's why I know you're ready for Good Bye My Princess. Good Bye My Princess is the first drama to match the intensity that I felt for Ashes of Love. These dramas both tell the deep love story between two people who are bound by their ill-fated circumstances. If you're looking for a heart-wrenching tale, a love story you won't forget, complex characters both worth loving and worth hating, leads with actual chemistry, and haunting OSTs, then you've found the right place.

Are monsters created or born that way? Both shows ask that question of its characters. If you’re into a psychopath criminal playing mind games and a male lead who straddles the line of in/sanity, these shows are for you. I won’t say more. You deserve the full experience without spoilers.

After watching The Big Boss ... it's a no brainer that you continue their story onto season 2! Season 2 takes off right where season 1 left off.

If you liked A Love So Beautiful for the romance, you're unfortunately not going to get it in The Big Boss, BUT if you liked it for everything else, then I urge you to give The Big Boss a try. Both of these dramas are lighthearted, feel-good youth dramas. They're so easy and fun to watch. The main leads represent similar tropes: you have your handsome and intelligent male lead and your lovable and quirky female lead who is the yin to his yang—or his walking, talking migraine. They're joined by an energetic group of friends whom you watch go through the trials and tribulations of growing up. We've all been there before, but we can't go back ourselves. Let them take you back to the good old days!

If you enjoyed the first installment of the Reply series, then you should definitely try the third installment! The Reply series does coming-of-age very well as you follow our main protagonist and her friends from their youth into adulthood. But more than just coming-of-age, you have family, friendship, comedy, love and even some mystery as you try to use the easter eggs that the production crew drops in order to predict who our main lead ends up with. Every single character is so endearing, they're like your own friends and family, and every single one of them is important! It's hard to let go of one of these dramas even when it's over. Both are an all-time favorite of mine!

Both are xianxia dramas driven by a love story unbounded by a single lifetime. Many parallels can be drawn between several plot elements due to the same setting and genre, and comparisons can't be avoided. However both stories are their own!
