Not so intense love.

First things first, the title. I wouldn't name this drama "'Intense' Love" because I didn't see or feel any intense love at all. Shi Yun was the typical dramaland's "Dr. Zhao", calm, mild, reticent, unobtrusive and sensible. His love was steady, patient, prudent, nothing too showy. Jin Bei, on the other hand, is very un-typical of an actress. I was torn whether she was just frustratingly naive or she was plain stupid sometimes. It is so improbable for an actress to be that trusting or that optimistic. Her love, however is nothing out of the ordinary, either. It even pissed me off that at Episode 22, the writers thought of this misunderstanding between Jin Bei and Shi Yun that I think the story could culd have done without. It's so unnecessary. They have reached 22 episodes fighting all odds together that should have made their relationship more stronger but then comes this incident that could have been solved if only Jin Bei had a little faith in Dr. Zhou, or at least given him a chance to talk, literaally. Instead they made her act childish and bratty. It annoyed me so much that I've thought of dropping the last two episodes. If they just stretched the Zitong problem instead, I would have been more accepting of it. Or they could just have concentrated more on the YingYing-Jia Wei relationship (the second lead couple I've skipped all their scenes together because they just did not interest me at all) and kept the main leads just lovey dovey til the end. This just put a damper on a rather mild but entertaining enough drama. One thing good I could say about the drama is, the problems the couple encounters do not get overly stretched, like, they do not drag it for episodes on end. Yes, an antagonist was always there in the form of Zitong, but every trouble she creates gets solved soon enough. So, but, yeah, nothing intense in all the story IMHO.
