So...everyone became stupid?
This started off SO well. It had potential to be one of the best. Now I am just feeling offended this had higher ratings than Flower of Evil. After ep 8 it seems like the writer drank water from the toilet. The characters became stupid, some things were extremely hard to solve (or kill) and then suddenly they were so easy...it was so sad. the ending was ridiculous, the characters were stupid...I don't know what to say.The actors were amazing at all times I am just sorry for them that the script went this way. TVN is so inconsistent with their shows lately.

AMAZING! MUST WATCH - Sweet and Heartwarming
Few shows make me ant to write reviews, but this one did (along with ITSAY). This has definitely joined Itsay in the ranks of my fave BLs but also my favorite series altogether because I feel both (in different ways) transcend the label BL.This is a story of growth and joy. The way the village is built up and each character is warm and not a nasty villain (aside from the villain himself lol) just made me love everyone.
The chemistry is explooosive and even though we suffer so much til we get a kiss this show made me feel so much more than series where characters make out explicitly all the time, because the build up of the desire, the way the looked at each other...it gave me EVERYTHING. I hope and wish and pray Earthmix will become one of those duos that repeats partnerships.
I love how all of Phupha's buddies are absolutely aware of his crush and encourage it. I love how Phupha is head over heels for Tian. I love how Tian is a playboy but not the nasty arrogant type, but one that is sweet and willing to learn quite promptly.
The last episode gave me LIFE and a bit more. I recommend 1000%
Congrats to Mix. From the BTS I could see this as quite a challenge for him and he rose to it beautifull.y

A true work of art
This series took me completely by surprise. I enjoy watching BL's and I understand they come with this 'label' that involves many clichés we have grown used to and even look forward to, but ITSAY went above and beyond. It does not need or deserve simplistic labels, it is a work of art. The story is beautiful and senstive and follos a perfect pace.I am in love with the OST and cannot stop listening to it.
A massive production where actors has to learn so much beyond acting the emotion. I am in love with Billkin and PP and their acting. PP is so expressive, they have such an amazing dynamic and it is really sweet to know they are close in real life, because I love knowing sets had a good vibe instead of those sad stories where you find out your favorite due hated one another despite amazing chemistry.
I truly hope season 2 does this justice.
As an actress myself I was very interested in the documentary (and recommend it to all fans of the show) and felt so nostalgy of workshops and movie sets (during the pandemic here in Brazil it is nearly impossible to work on lo budget or independent productions safely). I was so moved by the attention to detail...the way the coaches directed the actors in the very first workshop, to how amazingly sentitive the directly is in his director...I am blown away and breathless. I wish I could work ith Boss one day and have that experience, omg. Every direction he gave was alays caring and attention, he never lost his temper, he was alays on point, directing even movements that made the longing between the two characters all the more palpable, choosing scenes to reshoot that gained so much from his observations. I have no words.
I wish to see more and more from them and amazing careers because they deserve it.

2nd couple stole the show
To be honest what kept me going was the 2nd couple. Deng Wei and Pan Mei Yi stole the show for me. The lead couple faded in interest as it became a bit repetitive and lacked emotion for me, though I do commend the script for making Bambi's character a bit more empowered and independent with each life.I loved the moments where Yuchi and the Luofeng Immortal would exchange relationship tips or get caught by QingQing in compromising positions, it made me laugh out loud. But the romance of the lead couple was the least captivating thing for me.
I wish Deng Wei and Pan Mei Yi would get a spinoff or special or perhaps get to play a lead couple in another drama in the future. Apparently it was his first drama and I felt he did an outstanding jon.

I am in love
I am speechless. I am a big fan of fantasy works and this is my first venture into chinese dramas and xianxia. My teenager fangirl that used to have issues letting go of The Lord of The Rings is suddenly re-awakened and I do not know how to express my excitement over this. Perhaps it is the needed escapism during the pandemic (at least where I am from it is still raging).Yes it sucks that China has censorship, but I guess all of us went into it knowing what we were going to get and the fact thatthe leads have such chesmistry, their long gazes, the longing and love for my is quite clear and beautiful and I find it sooo hard to understand someone who watches this and thinks Lan Zhan and Wei Ying are just friends. The love is there. <3
The story is great and any flaws be it technical or in script become irrelevant because of how captivating these characters are. It was a hell of a ride. I admit the 'outside world' influenced me a bit because as I went into my usual research about the actors I ran into the events of Xiao Zhan being cancelled and it made me sad for him.
One of the things I love about dramas be it from Korea or China is the amount of behind the scenes content we are given and I am a sucker for honest friendships formed during these productions. Being part of something that was as massive as The Untamed and changed careers and create a whole trend of so many BL novels being adapted now...would probably forge the type of friendship I remember The Fellowship of The Ring developing and it makes me (silly) sad to think a misguided situation may have affected these actors in such a way.
However sticking to the Fantasy part of it, there is no heartache to be had, no bitterseet feelings, just love.

I have no words to express how wonderful this drama is. Please watch
EVERY episode leaves you on the edge of your seat. There is no boredom, nothing drags out, and yet nothing is rushed. Characters are well explored in general, action packed, mystery and romance and friendship.I do not cry often watching dramas, and yet the way these characters were portrayed I grew attached to them and I felt a heaviness in my heart seeing the suffering they went through and all they want is love.
I cannot stress enough how much I love these 2 leads. This is NOT one of those cases where the male lead shines and a whimpering weak female lead needs saving. Cha Ji Won is an amazing character. She is a badass cop, a strong woman, but so open hearted that she is willing to love and forgive in a way I do not think many of us are - and despite how in real life I might go 'jesus woman, leave him', I can completely understand her love in this story.
I agree with the journalist when he says she is a saint. I admire how she sees through Do Hyun Su's pain, understands he is not the monster he was painted as, and that he does not even know it. She understands his reasons to hide. And it is more than most people would ever be able to do.
Their lovestory is so compelling and despite Hyun Su being programmed into thinking he cannot feel, we can almost chuckle and shake our heads at him because at every turn he proves himself wrong and is full of heart.
The detectives are very interesting characters, Kim Woo Jin, Do Hae Su...everyone is a fleshed out human who makes decisions who are understandable whether they are the best for them or not.
Eun Ha is the sweetest cutest child in the history of the universe and I was to give her a hug.
Favorite heart wrenching scenes:
The dish washing scene in EP 9 made me cry
The conversation ouside the car in ep 11
The basement scene in 15....
The car scene on 16 omg so many scenes
Favorite scenes:
Cute flashbacks, anything with Eun ha, Do Hyun Su holding baby Eun ha.
The soundtrack is perfection. The instrumental music is a work of art.
Yes there is an aspect of the ending that I would change. The amnesia. I would not even scratch it, but my fanfic-prone heart would have loved to have seen him remember, or a flashforward scene of them settled into their new lives in the future.
Also I would have liked to have seen them address Hyun su's wrong diagnosis as a psycopath better. He does not display the symptoms and we have this confirmed over and over through the show, but I think the character himself should have heard this - as he did not seem to believe it.
I am really happy when i watch the behind the scenes videos and see that the actors got along.
I finished this yesterday and I already want to rewatch. I don't know what to do with myself now that it is over.

Spare yourself
This story is horrible. If History chose polemic topics to question them or shine a light...that'd be one thing, but they are romanticizing and glorifying an abused and toxic relationship. Basically the couple has 1 kiss that isn't forced by the crazy character and just...the story just makes no sense. This was truly a sick take on any sort of love story. The obsessed character has no redeeming arc, he does not change or improve in any way...it is just...0.0
I don't know what else to say to fill up 500 characters but thought it'd be worth the warning for future viewers.
