watched 7/24 through 7/31
took me longer than usual to finish (usually finish 16 eps within 3 days) but, i will say that when i started this i had no idea it was about mental health all i knew going into it was that it was two people coliving together, etc. but i was actually very glad that it (mental health) was one of the main topics throughout the show because very few kdramas (that ive seen) portray mental illness as good as i saw it here. i found jang jae yeol’s childhood backstory to be heartbroken and throughout the show i was hoping he could find his peace in the end. i related to him and hae-soo at times because i also struggle with ocd and i RARELY see it getting portrayed. many reviewed with how slow it was and i think the pace wasnt the problem, just how boring some of the other plotlines were. i think this show did a very good job with jae yeol’s relationship and connection to kang-woo, and it was very heartbreaking too😭as well as many other relationships dealing with mental health. on the other hand, it was very and awkward and weird how one of the side characters had romantic feelings for a MINOR when this was a grown man (they even said he shouldnt like her)
the OST was incredibly nice and fit well with each scene and many of the songs can be used as serotonin boosts. in the end, it was a very nice drama (and the main couple was cute) that really makes you think and see people outside of your own common prospective. — “most people aren’t comfortable accepting people who are different from us. we believe them to be wrong since they are different from us. scary thought isnt it?”
