Resonated with me
I absolutely hate musicals and yet . . . I watched this entire show, although I fast forwarded through several of the songs. The story was intriguing to me. There was just the right balance between reality and magic to keep you asking what is going on and keep you interested. The music is actually pretty good but when I watch shows, I'm there to escape reality and people singing during their dialogue is really distracting. That said, the story in "Sound of Magic" hit home to me because I have always believed that a big part of being happy in life is finding the magic in every day events and in that regard, this show was perfect for me. I even liked the ending although a bit more resolution would have calmed my "wonder what happened" brain cramps. I also liked that fact that it was only 6 semi-short episodes so the commitment wasn't so great. If I were the director, I would have cast it a little differently but those actors did a good enough job to get a nine out of me.

The Show I Needed to See
This was the show I really needed to watch for all the wrong reasons. I am so tired of show after show allowing villains to get a slap on the hand or buy their way out of prison time after destroying other people's lives. But not this show. For once, pretty much all the bad guys get exactly what they deserve and even a few bad girls too. It was immensely satisfying to watch a little vigilante justice being dispense when the police were completely inept. The casting was great, acting was good the story is a little weak but not too draggy so I highly recommend it for anybody who yearns for a long tall glass of justice.

Laughed all the way through this
Wow, I loved this drama so much that it became one of my top three. My daughter watched it and thought it was corny but I laughed all the way through it. Especially the Mermaid telepathy thing, not to mention Jin Ji Hyun is my favorite actress. Honestly, Ji Hyun does such a great job of being a mermaid that she really seems to be half fish. I think people who don't like it too much look at it as a melodrama instead of a comedy but Ji Hyun's personality as a mermaid is so weird compared to normal people that its hysterical.Of course Lee Min Ho plays the cocky Mr. "know it all" that gets completely turned around and desperately falls in love with his Mermaid. He's pretty smart about it though. When he realizes what her secret power is he make efforts to prepare for it, rendering her somewhat ineffective and making the ending of the show fantastic. What more can I say. I highly recommend this one.
PS. I have watched it three times now. Still good every time.

Didn't like the characters
Yoo In ah's worst show I have seen so far and I really like Yoo In Ah. This is a show about totally self absorbed drama queens who think their lives are hard when they do nothing but dote on themselves. In addition, they are surrounded by spineless men who can't seem to understand anything about marriage, responsibility and leadership.I had a hard time finishing this show because the characters portrayed were so amazingly shallow. Still the acting was good it was just a really dumb story. I know it was a fictional story but I can't but wonder if some of the portrayed values are the reason people don't have babies in SK anymore.

Funny
I almost didn't watch this because of all the bad reviews but I'm really glad I did. It was a comedy so no need to take it seriously and it really was quite funny. The first episode starts out with cheesy props but it gets better quickly. I really enjoyed the romance between Ma Da and Mi Ran. All the crazy characters parading in and out of the episodes was also a big bonus. Granted it was not realistic but I recommend it if you want something light and laughable. I would have written the ending a little differently but it was still enjoyable. Was this review helpful to you?
One of my Top Ten
I have watched so many k-dramas that it is rare for me to fall in love again but "It's Okay to Not Be Okay," totally did that for me. I watched the whole thing in two days on the edge of my seat. To be honest, it was the characters. Here you have one extremely unlucky sane person surrounded by a host of crazies. The closest two crazies to him are polar opposites. The characters are unbelievably consistent and well portrayed to the point that you absolutely believe. I had to actually go and look up other footage of Oh Jung Se to make sure he wasn't impaired as portrayed in the show. The show is a triumph of, "making the best out of what you have," as Kim So Hyun pieces together happiness and love with his too closest companions while keeping the rest of his universe in tack and running as smoothly as possibly. I came away from the show with this strange, "wow my life isn't so bad," kind of liberation. This show also reinforced one of my fundamental beliefs that everybody is crazy, you just have to work with it.
Anyway, don't miss this one. Besides the intriguing characters the last 8 episodes are hilarious. One of the best.

Really Funny
I laughed all the way through this drama. I think part of my amusement came from seeing Shin Sung Rok get his butt kicked by love because he was such a villain in "My Love From the Stars" and "The Last Empress". The story is very unique and the characters are even more unique making this a joy to watch . You can't really guess anything that will happen in any episode.Add to that the glamour of modeling and fashion design with very beautiful people and the whole thing really is quite riveting. The ending was a little off but still good and tied up the whole entire series quite comfortably.

Fun, Fun, Fun
I cannot understand all the bad reviews for this show. Its just a fun show that never takes itself seriously with the possible exception of the bad guy. If you start with the framework that everybody in the show is crazy then you will undoubtedly enjoy it. I laughed all the way through Namson's naivety and cluelessness. The lack of logic in her heroic deeds was just part of the weirdness. Her beautiful mother, Guem Joo, was equally as reckless and crazy with her "save the world" obsession. Most of the other characters were no less quirky, especially the totally dysfunctional family.
Anyway, I watch a lot of K-Dramas and the characters in this one were some of my all time favorites.

Fun Inspiring Main Character
I loved this show. I loved two things the most about it. 1st how resilient Mok Ha was even though her life was basically a dumpster fire. She took everything in stride and compared all the bad things that happened to starving on the island. 2nd, I loved that fact that Park Eun Bin actually sang all the songs herself. Wow, I have seen her in a few shows and she is really talented. I also like that the show was a bit more logical than most. When she ran away to protect her friends they immediately found her because she was famous and people in the street photographed her so everybody knew where she was. The story was entertaining and the acting, music, characters and scenery were awesome. I only wish it had been longer. Was this review helpful to you?
