its a surprise for me too

a few hours ago I was really bored and I had a lot of free hours and lots of cramps so I was like I want something trashy to watch that has no real plot because I'm not in the mood for heavy stuff. so I opened up my regular website and I looked for something that looked and had the name of an unserious drama. so based of my intuition I thought this was the shitiest show ever.

7 hours later and I have just finished all episodes released and actually looking forward to the next!

despite the amount of toxicity and controversies in this one starting from cheating to non con sexual activities which was f up the actors excuted it really well. the acting was so good! one of the best especially mark and the chemistry is phenomenal I literally haven't seen that much chemistry before.

the worst thing about this is the controversial events there is a lot of scenes that made me feel guilty for actually liking their chemistry, the scene in the first episode was non consensual. most of their relationship at first was flirting and cheating so I find it weird that vee was so shocked at his gf but never talked about the fact that he cheated on her too.

anyway I actually found the show enjoyable and bingeworthy despite everything and I really really really and I repeat really liked the chemistry. some scenes I just found myself blushing with them because of the phenomenal energy they are emitting.

I'd recommend this if you don't have problem with angst, and controversies and like me you watch everything despite of how f up it is sometimes.

perfect

if you don't like this, why? what does it lack? I don't get why this bl is considered overrated by some people? its actually super well made. it has everything you need made in a very artistic way.

its not only focusing on love and romance and coming out of age but also LGBTQ problems made in a very subtle way. I love the amount of chemistry and have tension in every scene. it doesn't seem like it was heavily funded in production but that didn't stop it from being one of the greatest bls I have ever seen.

I still remember that scene when they were sitting in teh's room and teh is like massaging oh-aew's back like I just watched it last night. the amount of tension I still feel to that day. it's amazing really.

you definitely should watch because you're missing out.

I have always waited for this review

okay before I start on nitpicking on this series I just wanna explain that I have watched this series three times since it came out like two months ago, once while it was still airing and another after and I never got bored of it. I will definitely watch it in the future so overall it's pretty good, and it should be on your list regardless if it was perfect or not.

starting with the plot it was really really good the first ten episodes I felt like it was heading somewhere new and original and they might introduce us to something new maybe about Vegas and it had potential you know? that's refreshing and dangerous and we're going to get swept in mafia world again after a calm romance break

but no in the last episodes the writers pulled the same plotline of " oh my mother knows your mother" shit trope that I absolutely hate and was completely unnecessary on this kind of drama. it was really a pathetic try from the writers I'd have adored it if it was just about mafia issues but romance on the side.

I also hated the fact that some characters were forgotten in a very "huh?" way and had no screen time at all like big for example, they could have given that man a scene to explain his feelings to mourn his death? anything really would have been fine.

Kim's plotline was really stupid for me like if you want to explain go ahead but I just don't understand why did he approach porchay for that reason? what did he think he's gaining? and the fact that he went and liked a minor ? I'm not going to talk about this.

despite the controversies around this couple but I loved vegaspete, it was really refreshing when kinnporsche got boring and settled. it was wild definitely but refreshing and new to me.

about the acting

I really loved everyone's but if we are talking first and last place and if we're excluding people who had no real screan time and barcode because he's young and inexperienced I think bible would be first and apo ( I'm so sorry I love you istg) would be last. I just felt like sometimes his acting was funny when it wasn't supposed to be. I love apo either way he did well enough to make this show enjoyable to watch.

bible though that man is going places.

the chemistry was great between everyone like official ships, bromances, fan made ships. they all look amazing together.

I loved free fall, KP is the only series that I liked its opening theme song like sometimes I would just play it and it's so nice.

overall that was pretty memorable to me and watchable too.

there is no plot here

my headline is really the main flaw i see here I gave the plot a 6 but I was being generous really if I was a bit meaner I would just give it a 2 or something.

regarding the plot again, there is no plot. arranged married trope done horribly and weirdly. the fact that their grandpas set up two literal kids for marriage that isn't even legalized ( I only loved the fact that they mentioned this issue not many dramas talk about this issues) for status reasons is just unrealistic I'm sorry. How'd they even know that they liked guys? why did kuea reject him at first? why did lian lie at all? why did lian act as if he didn't kuea back? the answers are just pure stupid it's like the writers were so lazy. no actually scratch that it's like they are mocking us or something. I just felt very stupid watching this.

even when they talked about same sex marriage seemed very forced and out of place it's like it was forced in the conversation where it doesn't seem to fit. the dialogues were just sometimes awful like it's out of a kid's mouth or something.

the constant forcing of kuea on Lian and the way he treats him like crap most of the time in the beginning when obviously it wasn't reciprocated was just awfullll and then he pulled I have always loved you at the end like huh? what?


the chemistry: if im going to be thankful for this show for something it's this one. they were really attractive and they did have chemistry together and the on set chemistry just makes you want to watch even more but I guess that wasn't enough to make it that memorable.


the biggest flaw that made me fuming and it's the actual reason i hate this show because i can handle a stupid plot and I can definitely handle no chemistry, but the constant infantilising? no way it's super cringe and annoying the way kuea and his friend constantly infantilised their partners and giving them orders or forcing them to stay home specially with the side couple was CRAZY I don't even know what was that? what were they trying to discuss or prove or show ? I'm deeply confused.

I hated that and I still do and nothing can make me forget how stupid that was I'm scarred for life.

anyway to watch or not it's really up to you because one thing about it it's definitely not boring it will keep you going huh? what? or wow but it's watchable really there are some good moments there where the chemistry was through the roof. so maybe watch it for a laugh or something.

how can you rate this a ten? for what exactly? the worst acting ever coming from the lead who has the most screen time? or the annoying plot that doesn't get better.

the idea of the lead being a playboy and everyone calling him a s word was so weird I felt like I'm watching something really weird. the amount of drama around him was really suffocating to the point that his partner wasn't introduced proberly because there was no time for him

they were constantly cleaning after Fiat's mess all the time.

the only scenes I actually enjoyed was between Fiat's friends, Fiat and Leon , and the steamy scenes between Leo and fiat.

I honestly think everyone liked it because of the chemistry nothing more.

the plot about his mother was stupid as f tbh I really disliked it.

overall it could have been excuted so much better and the plot could have been worked on more instead of being a mess like that.

let's break this down

before I get in depth on what I liked and what I disliked through out this short series I'm just going to give you a short sentence if you just don't care for long reviews : it's very good watch it and it's not cringey at all.

okay let's talk

I loved everything starting from their characters to their dynamic and intimacy, I think they had a lot of chemistry that was so quiet and low key which is in their case an advantage. most of the time I like angst and drama and the more dramatic the show is the more likeable it is to me but usually writers can't pull angst off it sometimes turn cringey and unrealistic.

I'm not saying they played it safe or anything, but the quiet low key dynamic of the relationship and the whole show made the show very bearable unlike most dramas rn I don't know if my point is clear on that one but it was something on my mind. I liked the silence that the show gave.

second point that I like is that I liked the music very much and that's a rare point on Asian bls, the music is mostly winged and not very thought about even sometimes annoying. In this one it's noticeable and fitting. so that's an interesting point.

I liked the whole aesthetic, the bike scenes, the cuddle scenes, the last beach scene, the last scene. it was very memorable to me and kinda heartwarming.

what I really didn't like is the lack of Daun hyeong. his character was more interesting to me personally that's why I was waiting for him to have his time and open up about his life. I wanted to see more of him and how his home life affected him but it seemed like the writers left it up for our imagination which is normally would make me feel like ohh that's annoying I want to know more but because siwon was so expressive in every moment I realized that it was intentional. dh was someone who hid how he felt and he wasn't going to open up unlike sw. I thought it was very smart of the writers to put that in mind.

that's it for me I really liked this show it's definitely in my top 50 list.

this drama doesn't suck

I will try as much as I can refrain from talking about how their relationship at first was called cheating in my language and how romantasicing cheating is just a no no even if the relationship was the worst one in the whole universe. it's so easy end your relationship then be with whoever you want.

it was both selfish to her boyfriend and to ji ho who probably if he was a real character would have lost enough brain cells from her.

the chemistry was there but wasn't anything out of the ordinary it was kinda mid at best. the whole story just seemed lacking for me and the sequence and pace of events is kinda boring and too slow for my liking. I had to wait 9 episodes to see them proberly date when she didn't even tolerate her ex bf like please what's this?

overall it was watchable and not so cringey gut I wouldn't recommend this to someone tbh seems like a kinda waste of time

I have something to say

I really liked the show I liked the plot it was new, sad and unpredictable

there were six main issues here:

1- Jimmy's acting : I seen him on why r U and he was so much better I literally have no idea what happened. the other guy is just so much better and it gets obvious who's stealing the spotlight even though Jimmy is technically the lead.

2- the lack of details: the plot is good and I don't think I have seen a bl with the same topic before but that doesn't mean they can slack off on details and think the plot will make it up. the fact that he could hold stuff and play sometimes but other times he can't is questionable and the fact that when his bracelet fell as if he didn't have a whole outfit on. I'll keep an open mind with the last detail though because I feel like I'm nitpicking.

3- the mix of languages were really uncalled for it was interesting but really unnecessary they could have just brought a Thai actor who can speak both instead of Jimmy's broken Korean.

4- they could have used more screen time for him and his mother relationship instead of the joke called police investigation. it was really bad I get that this wasn't a crime show but please work alittle bit .

5- Jimmy's acting

6- what was the last scene supposed to be? I'm not think wowww SEASON two? im just thinking wtf are those writers f up again?

now that I said all of that I'm just being harsh, the show was nice and I cried. I don't normally cry in bls but this one had nice actors. I think it was overall cute and worth binging. it's so much better than some of the shows that everyone watched.

I hated this

I don't know if that was just me but I hated this, it's just so boring and the plot is just so basic and boring and cliché. even if most BL dramas are clichés but usually they are fun and comedic or artistic or adds anything new.

this one is just flat, bland characters I don't even see the chemistry that people are talking about they are just two attractive people, there were no actual chemistry between them.

the plot about the studio and their work and their colleagues is just k*ll me now. so boring i almost fell asleep.

I don't recommend watching at all actually, you can find nicer stuff that can actually make you laugh at least from how silly it is but this one doesn't even have that.

I'm confused

I really like the show but it's just really lacking in alot of stuff that it makes me kinda annoyed. Japanese bl specially are always very good and memorable for me this one is a bit confusing. its not like I didn't like it but I was always torn weather I should continue to the next ep or just drop it because it wasn't really moving.

it was good but it was JUST good nothing crazy or out of this world. for a drama that most of its Screentime was about the main plot which was about the bombing that happened and their investigations I found it very very boring which is new to me because even when watching the least suspensing dramas it made me more excited than this one which is supposedly mainly about the plot.

I only watched for the BL part because I found it very new and the chemistry was kinda special and rare but even in this they didn't really focus on the BL it was mostly in as a comedic relief which I think was necessary because the show was kinda boring.

I loved the three of them and their relationship together but that's it which I don't think was enough for me. I really wished it was better than this because I had such great expectations and I was kinda let down.

I'm kinda embarrassed to say that

this is one of my favourite dramas of all time I know I know it's not that good it's also very cliché and you can really predict the whole story but I think there's something so special about it that I just can't seem to point my finger at.

idk if it's my scary obsession with Jerry Yan or if the show is really enjoyable but i have rewatched this show like 10 times since I first saw it in 2018 I keep remembering it every now and then and then rewatch it again and cry the same amount of tears in the same scenes.

the dynamic was very toxic but I still loved it and I love when they end up together at the end it just warms my heart.

its one of my favourites and it's shitty and it's angsty but it's fun and I think you might like it if you gave it a chance with an open mind

overhyped but

I do realize that true beauty was really the talk for many months and I really refused to watch it because I felt that the plot was similar to my id is Gangnam beauty and I thought it'd be a bad copy.

now that I watch it I can safely say that it is overhyped, but it isn't as bad as some people are making it out to be. I'm trying to list down the stuff I hated about it would not be past 5.

its nothing different or out of the ordinary but it's still a good one if you want to watch something fun and light and dramatic.

compared to many shitty romcoms that are also overhyped this one can compete.

one of the things that was unforgivable was the lead actor's acting, I remember him in my id is Gangnam beauty and he was all the same cold singular expression. it was a bit boring for me to watch him act when other people were actually bringing something to the table like seojoon for example.
